Feminine Belles - Info/discussion/support Thread

There is something about the eyes. I apparently stare very intently or am very expressive. Whatever it is, the way I look at men sometimes makes them shy

And thrn there is the smile. I am often complimented on my smile and have been told that it is sexy. So i make sure to smile a lot when i meet guys.

I love knowing that my eyes and my smile add to my sex appeal :) :)

Yes, it really is amazing. I think it may have something to do with the intense self reflection that is part of the process. I dragged my feet for almost two years before I finally did it. There are about 20 items of clothing left. I am not happy with where my weight is so I decided on a clothing rental service to fill the gap so I am not wasting money. Things that were not in good condition I threw out and things in decent condition were donated. I am in the process of purging my books now and if funds are tight, think of selling things you don't have use for. I made a nice amount on my book purge.

Hmmm...very interesting! What types of books are you purging? I think I should do a book purge as well, but I pretty much threw away or donated a LOT of books I had to my local library before moving cross-country.

Ohhhh yes, the eyes are something else. They can convey so much! Whoever said that the eyes are the "window to the soul" never lied.

Go 'head girl with your sexy smile and eyes lol....

I don't think my smile is "sexy", but people have told me I have a very nice smile...."crest white" is what some have said lol....

Mostly textbooks from school and cookbooks and other nonfiction I have in hardcover. Paperbacks in my collectuon have been virtually worthless.

Good morning Belles!

Idk if any of you are into body scrubs/oils, but I figured I would share one of my favorites. I've been using these for years! I get compliments on it anytime I wear it.

One of my favorite sugar scrubs is from the Sensual line from Bath & Body Works. I just LOVE their Black Currant Vanilla scrub.

Sometimes I use it in the shower, or sometimes I use it just to scrub my hands. My hands end up feeling soooo nice and smooth, and my body smells heavenly. It really has a wonderful scent! :yep:

I also love the oil from the same line. Black Currant Vanilla Body Oil.

I put this on after I get out of the shower, or after I put some lotion on. The oil smells so nice, and I feel more pampered after using it. It's really a nice relaxing scent. I LOVE the smell of vanilla. :lick: You can get both of these products at Bath & Body Works!

Have you ladies ever thought about hiring a personal stylist? I am fashion clueless. Lol! I have no fashion style. And I have no idea how to coordinate outfits, mix or match clothing and/or accessories. I always buy the clothes exactly how it is on the mannequin. Even when I try to go thifting I can't out an outfit together. I want to be able to mix and match different materials, patterns etc. I can't remember the last time I actually bought clothes. A few of the reasons I haven't bought anything is because I keep saying that I want to lose weight before I buy any new clothes and it's has been so long since I have shopped I wouldn't know what to buy anyway. Are there websites or blogs that help fashion clueless ladies?

thanks girl!!! I hear vanilla attracts them like flies. I have a date soon and I want to keep him fascinating

Also in terms of resources, I am interested in reading the Madame Chic series. Has anyone already read any of them?

And I added a new blog to my collection today. I am not a housewife but in that niche of the blogosphere I am finding many feminine tips for life at home and this one comes with fashion too!

I really like Jennifer/daily connoisseur. Here is her TedTalk on the 10 item wardrobe:

I figured out why so many women lack femininity. Our mother's don't send us to etiquette school anymore. My grandmother and her sisters were sent, my aunts went, but when it got to my generations it stopped.

I'm surprised I have the amount of femininity I have considering how my mother acts. My mother isn't very feminine. She talks aggressively, she will belch and pass gas, she'll scratch places that should be scratched in front of other people. And I am completely appalled and I'll tell her that it's not okay to do those things. And she tells me I'm uptight.

Luckily, my grandmother was there to balance out my mother or I would be as bad as her. My grandmother tried to teach her things, but she wasn't interested.

I went to this class, more for the networking tips than the etiquette. HIGHLY recommend.

I don't know of any specific blogs that teach this ski but I just found out this girl I really admire uses a personal stylist. I finally worked up the nerve to ask her how she is always so fashionable and pulled together even with an infant. Of course she didn't share the individual's name but you could always start with the services of one at a place like Nordstrom.

Oh trust me girl....wear that stuff from Bath & Body Works and you won't be able to get him off! :lachen: I even had my old roommate tell me one day (when I was wearing it) "Oooo you smell gooood...what is that??" She was sniffing me like a dog!! :lachen: The smell of vanilla is something else lol. :giggle:

Hmmm I have fun playing styling and building my wardrobe but maybe later this year I will hire a personal stylist just to see what I can learn. My birthday is coming up and I think my challenge reward will be a makeup lesson, personal stylist and boudoir shoot.

Went to a training for work recently and although we learned a lot of substantive information having to do with my career, we also did a lot of work around being in the present and being grounded, being "in your body" as opposed to "in your head." It was really interesting stuff. It's about knowing that you're prepared and trusting that preparation will help with your delivery. The instructors talked a lot about staying away from the "judgey" thoughts in our head to experiencing the present and the moment. Very interesting stuff.

One thing I learned was that I just need to flow. In making presentations/arguments that I don't have to do so much, I just have to be and let it flow. I don't have to overextended myself and/or be forceful, just flow....

"Instead of fixating on quotas or things left undone, I embraced a theme: to do better in all things. Elegant in its simplicity but difficult to achieve, it takes constant effort to be better — and it’s a bar that is continuously raised."

I Love This

I can't think of one area in my life where I can remain complacent. In all things I need to do better, if even marginally, I must do better than my natural inclination, skill, or disposition.

Oooo I LOVE this. I wish I could go to a seminar talking about this one topic alone. I tend to stay "in my head" a lot throughout the day, and even though I'm currently working on staying "present in the moment" this year, I still feel like I have areas that I need to work on.

Did he/she mention any tips to staying "in the moment" during your seminar??

Maybe I may try to look for some Youtube videos on that topic and post them. Because a LOT of our feminine radiance and energy is reliant upon staying "in the moment".

Okay I have a question...it may be a silly one lol, but since I'm not too familiar with Pinterest I figured I would ask.

How do you keep a board that you're following in your account? In other words, one thing that is frustrating me to no end is that I don't see the Feminine Belles board when I go to my account. I have to hunt for it! It kind of is discouraging to go and post because I can't find it anywhere. I tried to "follow" the board, but I guess since it's a secret board you can't follow it?

Idk... you pinterest gurus please help me... what am I doing wrong?? :cry2:

When you go to Pinterest, click your name in the upper right hand corner and it will take you to all your boards.

How Feminine Are You? Your result = 61 out of 105 "If you scored closer to 60 you tend to express your masculine essence almost as much as your feminine essence."

...I knew it :nono:

It was been two weeks since the 6 month challenge was started. For the ladies that are joining me how are you doing? What are some areas that you are struggling in?

PSA:
During the next 6 months you are challenging yourself to reinvent a new women. A women that will move your life in the direction. If you are not happy with where you are in life or an area in your life, NOW is the time to examine those areas and make the changes. Don't wait for tomorrow, don't want until you get home, do it now are don't do it at all.

Think of this as your training time. In the end you will embark on a journey that is your life.
