5 Year Shea Anniversary: Started Dec 16th, 2016!
This is Tina Turner in 1979. She's singing a song that is obscure and unknown to most and her performance may seem lackluster to some. In this video she is five (5) years away from 1984, the beginning of her monstrous ascendence into Super Stardom.
It may not have been apparent to anyone else, but Tina believed in herself. I am sure she had doubts, setbacks, bad days and isolated times with no support.
She was considered OLD in 1979 and someone who was very powerful, in fact the head of Capital Records who under which she had precarious recording contract, referred to her as an 'Old, ni%%er b'. She was given limited time and the pressure was ON when she was recording her soon to be mega hit album, Private Dancer. She had one and only one shot. She took it.
