My son is always hot, even when baby, he would kick off the covers and burn up. Now he wears the typical 20s young men basketball shorts or khaki shorts and hoodie
He will put on jeans or khaki pants if we are actually going somewhere nice or he is going out. It isn't like he doesnt have the clothes he just likes to be relaxed.

I know I shouldn't complain but.....Im exhausted from all this dating and juggling home life and work life. I wish I could fast forward to the point where we are sitting on the sofa watching tv or where we can meet each others kids. Infact we both want that but its waaaay too early for that.....and we haven't even sampled the goodies yet!
This guy is obviously very into me and he is husband material. Everything Ive been searching for so Im just gonna shut my mouth and stop complaining.

I wanna wring my son's father's neck! He's told my son (unbeknownst to me until yesterday) because he's a "black man" he has to be perfect and on top at all times. My son is stressed out so bad last night he cried himself to sleep because he got an 84 in his art class.
I can't believe this idiot did not realize the ramifications of what he said to him. He's afraid to even show his report card to his dad. He got a 97 (in biology) 96 95 87 86 and an 84. He can't even enjoy his success because of stressing the 80 grades.
Broke my heart to see him like that.

Our kids have to be extra already and to put that unwanted stress on them is crazy. I tell mines to do their best but don't let it freak you out. My 15 yo dd wants to be in the top 10 and be valedictorian, she cried when she got her freshman class rank, she is a sophomore. I had to calm her down, you would have thought she was graduating the following week.
Please let your ex know what he should already know, don't stress the kids. Stupid ego maniacs.

Bublin I understand exactly what you are saying. It's hard to schedule the time to get to that point with work & kids. The guy I'm dating has the opposite custody schedule to mine! We both have children that are old enough to stay home but the dates have to be shorter than they would very if we were completely free. It's tiring and it takes longer for things to progress when dating time is limited. But if it's meant to be you guys will get there soon enough, hang until there!

Its really difficult to manage. Work, kids, domestic duties, personal pursuits and hobbies plus a budding relationship is very overwhelming. I got spoiled and used to having more me time. Its like dang... can I have a breath please?!
Oh and congrats on meeting a great guy! I know the road hasn't been easy.

Dating with limited babysitting.
Is anyone in this position?
My son's dad is playing up big time...its like these men know you're dating and throw a spanner in the works.
I don't have many options for sitters especially on a regular basis.
The new man in my life has made it clear he has no problem being with me and my kids and he wants me to meet his. Problem is, I think its waaay too soon. Nit just for the kids but for me. Im not ready to play happy families...I want to spend time alone with him.
Is anyone in this position?

I am in this position Bublin.
I have this plan of attack to avoid predators. Befire I get attached its important to me to see how he interacts with MY child first. I once detailed a story where I waited a whole friggin year for dude to meet my child. He was great to me, a radio and sports tv reporter (in his country), paid my bills, trips, etc. Finally had him meet dd and after the 3rd time he almost got stabbed thinking I was gone let him abuse her. WTF planet he think he was on?!
So now its meet after a cpl months if we are beginning a relationship and they are short 1 hr excursions once a month.
With current dude we are at an hour every two weeks and have been dating since july.
Otherwise the ninja gotta be patient cuz I ain't got no sitters. Too bad so sad.
Do whats comfy for you and your situation. Dont let his impatience or over eagerness rush you.
Perhaps he could offer to pay for your sitter if he's so eager

Just checking in. My oldest dd got her graduation date this past week so she was super excited. She got her first round of college apps out this week. She has 7 in total. She is applying to her first choice soon.
My son still looking for work, he is going to sign up for classes at community college.
Youngest is counting the days until 16th bday.
They are moving right along, some days I am like yessss other days I want scream no. Very conflicted emotions but I have been preparing myself for it. It still feels unreal.

Oh the exes always cutting up, I am grateful my kids have the own phones. He has been blocked since we first split four years ago. They are all capable of calling or receiving calls from him.
I officially went to SS office to change my name back to maiden. I am truly released from him. I changed my name on my fb account over the summer, my sis in law told him and he sent a sly text to my phone, I can read his messages but don't get calls. He is such an idiot.

We will split the day 50/50. Before, he'd take the actual day and I took the day after which was fine since I never got time off the day before to cook. Wanted to try different this year but I can already feel the hectic since my work schedule is the same. Eeeek!

Nothing really going on for Thanksgiving, just family time w/ my daughter, sis & nephew. I plan on going to Popeyes to try their Cajun fried turkey, I hope it's as good as the reviews. So glad I have the day after Thanksgiving off so I can relax!

Hi all you lovely moms! I found this thread by accident and I shall introduce myself. I'm Whosthatcurl and I have a 6yr old male offspring. I'm single (by choice, apparently I have horrible taste in men). This Thanksgiving I had to stop my mom from killing my aunt H, and my other aunt passed out, because my aunt H is a violent drunk. Police were called and everything smh. How was you guys Thanksgiving?

My Thanksgiving was good, spent time with my daughter, sis and nephew and we cooked up a storm! I'm very sorry I didn't make more sweet potato pie, I did something different and used agave instead of sugar-SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Sadly, sometime yesterday evening, I developed a horrible backache that spread to my left hipbone, I can't move without pain. 
My sis had to take out the turkey and the pies for me since I was unable to bend. I hoped with sleep I would wake up refreshed but nope, the pain is back with a vengeance! I refuse to sit for hours in the emergency room so my sis is gonna go to the pharmacy to get some IcyHot for me. Was gonna visits my sis n law but that's out- the good news is that she may drive down to see all of us instead. 
Gonna soak in a hot bath to see if the pain lessens, I'm too young for this ish, lol. Hopefully I will be able to take DD to the movies tomorrow and get some laundry done before work on Monday.

Well damn whosthatcurl, we can't say your Thanksgiving was boring! So sorry you had to go through that, unfortunately we don't choose our family- hope you was able to cop some good grub out of the hassle.
