♥~♥ SINGLE MOTHERS SUPPORT THREAD! ♥~♥

I am dating a guy with 3 daughters and I finally met them. I had a bad first impression with his 16 year old daughter where she was rude and disrespectful (to me and him) it left a bad taste in my mouth and although she has apologized and he assumes we have moved on from it I cringe whenever we hang out with her and then feel bad. It's hard to get over it but it is causing bad vibes at random times and I don't know how to control it. I have told him about it and he has talked to me and then I talked to her but still. ..ugh I don't want it to seem like I am holding onto negativity but clearly I am.

Do you think she was acting out bc her dad is dating? I see you talked to her separately, I would say give it another week or so. We are having a lot of communication issues in the air.

Yes she said she wants her daddy all to herself he has been a single dad raising her since she was little.
 
Welp, my ex finally Texted my dd yesterday saying he was sorry for not contacting her last week on her actual bday. :nono:

My dd said he wasted his time. He is an ****** joke.

My ex just did the exact same thing smh only my daughter is only 5 so she really doesn't care because he is never there. This is what makes me want to shield her from him he is really a deadbeat dad unfortunately... it's a shame he is missing out on this amazing little girl.

I do this once a month and it is so important to prioritize Me time to keep everything balanced. I mean it's literally in my monthly budget to do it.

I am going to start doing this more now that my boys are older. When they were smaller it was super difficult. I never did anything for myself. Most weekends we did family things together. Little day trips...library...lunch...movies. It's my time now.
 
Hey y'all. Had LASIK surgery on my eyes yesterday. A lot of irritation but its normal. Of course my youngest has a project due Monday. He's with his dad today I pray he works with him on one part. Its hard for me to focus and my vision. Is still a little blurry. We already did the poster/display. How is everyone else doing?

Jealous, I want Lasik, I have small coronary so I would be out of vision for a week. I hope to get it done soon.

My kids are busy as usual. We went to the kickoff for new NBA season last night. Today my girls have outings with friends. Tomorrow I am suppose to go see Neyo with my cousin we shall see.
 
Ooooh! Congrats on your lasik crlsweetie912! I hear it's really worth it. Everyone I know who's done it has had great success.

Oan: exH went on vacay all week and he had to pick her most busy week so far. We've had after school performances and other extracurriculars almost every day of the week. Missed out on a lot of work hours (and I get paid by the hour :nono:). So far he text her ONCE. ONCE and with pictures of his great outing that he has promised to take her on for years and still hasn't. But he still goes annually with his friends. Idiot.

Anyhow she's starting to see the differences. She's been saying over and over how she's happy to be with just me all week and in her own words, "I love how you take care of me, mommy" and no expression of missing her dad. Oh well. Its gonna bite him in the behind...already beginning to.
 
^^^^ They always see the difference. My kids saw it at different times. My girls told me outside of me and my mom, they put their brother down as emergency contact. Mind you my son has no way car to get them but they said they know he would make a way to get to them.

Single mother of a 11 month old. I dont know how to be anything but a mom. I know theres more to me than that. However this is new to me since my husband walked out on us. I have to work two jobs and the commute is about a hour. I dont know how to juggle it all. I work at nights and pick my son up in the day time. He sleeps at night so i dont get any sleep in the daytime because all he want to do is play so im getting three hours of sleep a day. Im having a hard time getting a routine. Any advice?

Welcome to the thread.

Does your son take naps during the day, maybe you can take a power nap with him. Can you find a mom morning out program, I know they are pricey but if you can swing one day a week that might help you. Also check mommy board in your area, you might can find a SAHM that is able to watch him also. Ok, lastly start looking for a new job FT work at end of December. By end of January things will be much better for you. ((((Hugs))))

The only thing I can say is that you'll find a way. You have no choice. I hope that it doesn't sound harsh, but it's true. Times will get hard and frustrating but is worth it. . I've been homeless with a 1,2, and 5 year old, and I had to do what I had to do to survive. Find ppl that u trust to help you or with your baby. Either way, things usually work themselves or, even when things seem hopeless. Love all my hardworking moms! !!!
