2015/2016 Brides Roll Call & Random Thoughts :-)

2 months to go. We got our rings this weekend. Should get the marriage license this week if not next. I'm working on my shoes, veil, corset. Should be sending out the invites by this week. Still haven't finalized things with the florist. Still don't know what to do with my makeup and hair yet.

lol, it's crazy how brides pick and choose what's the most important to them. I got my ring last week and FH's ring is still in the mail, whereas the florist was picked from late last year. I got my hair person about five weeks before the date and got my marriage license last week. In the end though, I think we (brides) all make it work.

Is anyone planning on doing the bouquet toss? I'm thinking about doing an anniversary dance instead.

Also I have two flower girls one is 2 and the other is 10. It will be probably be hard to find matching dresses for them right?

I am not doing a bouquet toss. My single friends feel weird participating in that. Plus, it takes up much needed dance time. The anniversary dance is a nice idea.

FH and I were plotting out our time in Vegas before we go to the honeymoon and figuring out what we wanna do before the wedding day and after. We booked an evening gondola ride which I think will be really nice. We also decided to spend Friday evening apart, him with his boys and me with, well, his boys' girlfriends/wives lol. So I need to find something cute to wear when we hit the town, I don't really have going out clothes. Need to get on that asap....

One of FH's cousins has not told us if he's coming or not. He hasn't responded to any of FH's texts or calls, so we took him off the list and let someone else come. Well last night, FH was on the phone with his brother and his brother was like, "Yeah so me and cousin are gonna get a room together in Vegas." FH was like uhhhh cousin ain't coming lol. Brother was like, "Oh yeah he's coming, we just talked the other day." :-| Im like how the *** you gonna tell SOMEONE ELSE that you're coming to OUR wedding???? Lawdy... I'm trying to be SO patient with this whole thing. He has another aunt who invited herself which irritated me. Whoooosaaaaahhhh..

I was doing a peel last night and FH informed me that I need to start doing peels on him too so he can have nice skin for the wedding. So we're both on a weekly peel regimen.

I still need more freakin clothes. Everyone has their Fall stuff out so it's hard to find things for hot weather now. I found a cute little blue dress at Banana Republic for 40% off yesterday. I need to do some online shopping.

I bought some cute comfy lingerie for the honeymoon but I still haven't found the perfect wedding night outfit. :(

I wanna get a full leg wax the day before we leave so I dont have to worry about shaving while we're gone.

Two people texted me yesterday saying, "One month til the wedding!!!" :drunk: I was like Lawwwwwwd.

I fully plan on doing some crash, crazy ass detox 10 days prior to the wedding. :look: Iount care. I already ordered my flat tummy tea and errythang. :lachen:

Okay Imma shut up now...

Careful with the crash detox @tapioca_pudding, b/c it may affect your electrolytes and lead to renal failure.

OAN:
My florist is paid in full, my photographer is paid in full, my venue is paid in full, my cake is paid in full and my day of coordinator is paid in full. All that's left to pay is the church fee, the organist, and the cantor :). Seven more days…lol. Ahhh. haha.

Our date is 6 weeks from yesterday. I love FH and I've never had doubts about HIM, but for some reason it took me awhile to pass the "extremely nervous" stage of engagement, like I was just super scared about marriage and the changes and if I can do it and whether I would do it. :look: For the past couple weeks I can say that I am definitely past that stage and SO excited and grateful and blessed. Getting married!

This morning I put the stamps on the final vendor envelope, the photographer envelope, the makeup girl envelope. It's going down :drunk:

Opinion: I didn't hire a hairstylist. I am a basically going to do a low bun for the ceremony and veil and wear my hair pretty much like it is in my avi (it's about out two inches longer and will be jet black against my dress) but with pin curls and adorned with a bandeau birdcage veil for the reception. I have decided that this is ️The most me, according to how I feel pretty (I dont like "styles") and goes with my dress. I just wanna put this out there while I still have 6 weeks though in case yall think its too plain :look:

Eta: I'm getting my hair done the day before, so it'll be fresh not "in a style" and I usually am able to make my bun pretty and big without issue

I have a stylist the day of, b/c honestly I know I wll be so frazzled to be doing my own hair. That day, I plan to be in my robe, sipping champagne and eating little snacks and just trying to relax prior to the ceremony. I think your plan is fine but identify someone in your family or bridal party who can do hair who can be a back up just in case. Or if you're getting married in the same area as your regular stylist just ask if you can run by the shop in the morning if there's a hair emergency. But your hair is so pretty anyways that it doesn't really matter b/c it'll look gorgeous no matter how you style it :)

This will be me as well. I hired hair and make up. Mostly because I can not style my hair in a way to combat the heat, plus I have never had my make up professionally done before.

We are getting legally married 2 weeks from today. eeppppp...

Im doing my own hair and makeup. My hair isnt a big deal, just a simple curly bun with some sleek edges, which will be adorned with my birdcage veil. Im a makeup artist so I feel pretty confident in my makeup, though I have been doing some practice runs with different products, etc. I thought about bringing a close mua friend with me to the wedding but I figured it wouldnt be worth the money when I do my own makeup very well.

But I agree with the ladies above to have a backup plan just in case you wake up the day of and your hair isnt turning out the way youd hoped. Better safe than sorry for sure.

Trying to decide if I want to get a few more highlights added before the wedding. If I do, I need to do it this week or next so they can be settled by the wedding. I still have nice color and highlights from last time so I dunno. But I hate freshly colored roots, I like a bit of grow out so it looks more natural. So I need to decide.

I just want to go to sleep and wake up and the day is here. I'm so tired of planning and thinking about and mulling over this dangon wedding!! A friend planned his in 5 months and I thought he was crazy, but in retrospect, it's better to just do it in a short period time so you can move on. All this dangon buildup for this one day. Lordt.

We finished crafting our wedding broom last night.. it came out SO lovely. We were both so proud lol. I'm going to ship it to Vegas tonight so we dont have to worry about packing it.

I tried on my wedding dress again last night with my jewelry and my new undergarments and I actually really liked how I looked, which made me get super excited all over again.

I ordered a few cute pieces off boohoo.com, can't wait to get them. A couple more outfits and I think I'll be all set for our wedding and honeymoon, apparel-wise. Well I do want a really dope dress to wear on Friday night.. still on the hunt for that.

I checked the weather predictor for Vegas during our wedding - sposed to be in the high 70s that whole weekend. Im SO happy, perfect weather plus it's dry so I dont have to worry about humidity too much.

The place where I get my waxing done emailed me to remind me of my waxing appointment the day before we leave (legs, underarms, brazillian). She told me to make sure that I dont' shave my legs for at least two weeks so there will be enough hair. :nono: I was like great, Imma be a boogawolf for two weeks lol.

Which undergarments are going with?

I got my Rago, I tried it on with my dress yesterday, it gives me good tummy control. I think I am going to keep it. I definitely needed the bigger size so it was true to my measurements. I am letting my mom try the smaller size. if she can fit it I will let her have it.

We finished making all the gift bags...wooooo! We will be dropping them off tomorrow. Two guests arrived early so they didn't get theirs tonight, but I hope they don't hold it against us, lol.

I still have a few details left - putting the pics for the family table in their frames, my pedicure, assembling my bridesmaids' gift bags, and finishing packing for the honey moon, but it will get done. Phew. I can't believe we actually planned this. I've never planned an event so big before...One more day to go...haha.

Word of advice, finish everything you can the weekend before your wedding, no ifs ands or buts. I'm a procrastinator to an extent so my deadlines got pushed, but it is what it is. Knowing me, I'd create new projects to fill my time. Also, if you are able, take a full week off before your wedding. I couldn't do that or I'd compromise my honey moon time, but I think if you can string 2.5 to 3 weeks together, then do it!

I have shoes and the flowers to make my bouquet. Nothing more

I'm the worst and laziest bride to be ever. And I don't feel bad about it either.

^^Yeah @Taleah2009 that's tough.. somewhat related - I just found out that no one from my family is coming to my wedding after all. My one cousin that was coming found out that she has to work (she just started a new job). So it'll just be me and FH's fam lol. I was planning a girls-night-out that Friday while we're in Vegas but since my cousin isn't coming, I don't know what to do. His male cousin's wife will be there, but I've never met her before (they live in a different state than us). So I'll likely be sitting up in our wedding suite while he's out hitting the town with his boys. :( Ah well, can't win em all.

I *think* I found my wedding night outfit, I ordered it online yesterday and it should be here by Thursday. Hopefully it looks how I want it to look lol.

One of my fellow MUA friends and I are getting together after work today to practice some makeup looks, she has some ideas she wants me to try/products I might like. Im hella excited lol. Then we're going to Sephora to pick up whatever I may need that I don't have in my kit. Fun times.

I saw this stuff on IG called Sole Serum (www.soleserum.com)... you put it on your feet before you wear uncomfortable shoes, and it kinda numbs your feet for a few hours so you don't feel any pain if you're walking a lot or dancing, etc. I ordered some to see if it works, I hope so. I bought some folding-flats just in case though.

I really think I'm all set aside from getting my ring cleaned (next week), whitening my teeth (next week) and ..I think that's it lol.... 3 more weeks...

@tapioca_pudding

Instead of sitting up in the wedding suite, can't you hang out with his male cousin's wife? I'm sorry to hear none of your family members will be in attendance. Would they have to fly out to Vegas or is it actually near by (where you live)?

@Allandra yeah FH told me that she is a really cool person and he thinks we'll have fun together, so I may see if she wants to hit a couple lounges and have some drinks or something. At least just to get out and about, plus she might really be cool to hang with.

Re: my fam - yes, my wedding is in Vegas so they would have to fly out. I knew my parents were not going to come for their own reasons. My eldest sister was coming up until about April when she stopped speaking to me for some reason that I'm unaware of lol. My other sister could not get the time off of work, plus she has 4 children. So it's just me... but it's okay. :) His fam is really nice to me.
