2015/2016 Brides Roll Call & Random Thoughts :-)

I think I want a birdcage veil after all.. at first I didn't want anything but Ive been looking at photos of them and I think they're so elegant and classy and would go well with my overall style. Need to find one and order it. That also changes my pick for jewelry, but that's okay.

FH asked me to pick a song for him to walk out to.  He picked John Legend Stay With You as the song for them to play after we say "I Do", so I have to pick something for him to walk out to (I'm walking out to Here Comes The Bride per his request). I have no idea what to pick.

My eyebrow lady moved to Chicago last year.. I haven't found anyone as good as her since she left, brows been terrible since. FH suggested I grow my brows out til the week before the wedding, then we can drive down to Chicago for a weekend so I can let her do my brows. :yay: :yay: Imma look like a boogawolf til then but dammit it's worth it.

I've been working on my facial and body skin and am definitely noticing the difference. Hoping to be close to flawless by the wedding (or my version of flawless lol).

We were going to buy a broom to jump, but FH asked me to make one for us instead. So that will be a project for me. I need to get on it so just in case I screw it up, we'll have time to order one LOL.

I'm getting injections next Monday to stop my underarm sweating and I am SO damn excited... Im so glad to have it done before the wedding so I don't have to worry about sweating during the wedding or honeymoon.

Im just rambling.. :)
I came in here to see if anyone else is doing a birdcage! I just decided that I am obsessed with them. I am going to do a cathedral length veil with a blusher for the ceremony and then I want to change into a birdcage before the reception introduction.

What is your regimen to work on your face/body skin? I've started bleaching my teeth so I can have my mouth open all day/night without worry :look:

What have you been doing to work on your face? I am going to place an order for Alpha H liquid Gold this evening as my night serum.

Why is time moving sooo fast. Why do I have sooo much to do. Why do my sister, FMIL, and nephew NOT have their passports yet!

I want to finish getting all of the stuff for the welcome bags this weekend so I can be done with it.

Ohhh... I forgot the biggest thing. I got my dress and its sooo tight in the hips! It zips fine and I can move but I can't sit. So I am getting it let out. I hope that works! I wish I would have paid attention to the size chart my consultant ordered because I would have told her to go up a size. She went down a size instead. ggggrrrrrrr.... The hip measurement of the dress is smaller than my real measurements. I keep have nightmares that the dress will rip when I sit down.

Until then I am super vigilant about diet. FH wants to go to dinner with parents tonight. I am going to look up the menu a head of time so I make smart choices.

Side note........ THIS WEDDING IS TAKING ALLLLLLLLL OF MY MONEY!
I Know my family is planning a bridal shower, I sort of don't want one, but I sort of do.

Yeah Im so excited about the birdcage veil!! I found a few on Etsy that I really love.. They are so gorgeous. And I need to start using the Crest Whitestrips soon too!!

@Taleah2009 & @InchHighPrivateEye Here's what I've been doing for my skin:

FACE:
Cleanse Daily (duh lol)
Apply Vitamin C Serum (I use the Ole Henrikson Truth Serum)
Apply moisturizer (I alternate depending on how my skin feels)
Weekly glycolic peel (MUAC)
Weekly radiance peel (MUAC)
Weekly clarisonic use
Clarisonic Radiance Serum at night

BODY:
Exfoliate 4x per week w/ Salux Cloth
Daily cleanse with Mario Badescu AHA Botanical Body Wash
Moisturize with Alpha Hydrox 12% Glycolic Lotion (will stop using 1-2 weeks before honeymoon since it can cause sensitivity to the sun)
Biweekly lactic acid body peels
Slather up with sheacoco body oil on Sunday night (concoction I made with shea butter oil, coconut oil, emu oil, vitamin e oil and rosehip seed oil)
Hydroquinone 4% under arms to lighten them up

Sounds like a lot  but it's not really, plus it's worth it. :)

HTH!

I kinda want to surprise FH with a helicopter ride and dinner on the canyon the day after our wedding. I think it would be so romantic but Im worried that I'll book it and then we'll get busy and not even be able to go. I'll have to think it through.

I am lightweight panicking that my wedding is so close..... :drunk: I still have things I need to get and do, and it's in 6 weeks. So unreal....

Thank you! I am scared to do a peel. lol

What kind of moisturizer to do use? What is in your arensal? I am on the market for new one. I am thinking of trying the Kiehls line.

Girl do the bridal shower! I was surprised by how generous people were at the bridal shower. I was able to pay off a vendor (photo booth) and alterations with the amount of gift money I received.

For daytime mostly I use the Aveeno Positively Ageless moisturizer. Sometimes I alternate that with the CeraVE daytime moisturizer. At night and after peels I use the Juice Beauty Stem Cellular moisturizer. I've heard good things about Kiehls though, I just haven't tried anything.

Im deciding on if Im going to have a bridal shower as well.... It would probably help, gift-wise, but I would be throwing it for myself (don't have a MOH/bridal party) so I would have to make the investment for it. I need to decide soon though...

Thanks! I have tried the Aveeno facial cleaner but not the moisturizer

Nudge your family members to throw it for you. I'm pretty close with my mom and I told her to throw me one as I knew that my girls would throw the bachelorette. I didn't want my bridal party to feel burdened by having to plan two parties. I told my mom that the bridal party was a chance to invite all her close female friends and my own as well to celebrate pre-wedding. We kept it low key and at our home. It was great. My bachelorette party was over the top, so I didn't want the bridal shower to be as well.

My wedding is next month. I am about to throw up. I have sooo much still left to do.
Me too girl lol.. Going to look for my jewelry at a boutique this weekend and my veil. I still need to get my engagement ring cleaned too, I just thought of that. Still need to make our broom, and I need to get a new strapless bra... I have a whole Evernote post full of things to do in the next 4-ish weeks .

@Menina Preta Thanks lady.. Unfortunately Im not close with my mom (she's not coming to my wedding) and my sisters aren't really involved in my wedding (they aren't coming either). So I likely won't have one, which is okay. :) I wanted to have a 'girls night out' with a few close friends but I need to figure out a date, location, etc. :drunk:

The girl's night sounds like it will be super fun! I need to get my ring cleaned. And also pick out my band. I keep changing my mind the jewelry got some new ones he wants to show me. I am kinda happy FH didn't involve me picking the engagement ring because I probably wouldn't have been able to make up my mind.

Are you ladies buying a mother-of-the-groom gift? I wanted to get her something small, like a bracelet with a charm that says "Thank you for raising the man of my dreams" or something..

Nope. I am already buying gifts for my parents b/c they were very generous in terms of helping to pay for the wedding and my mom is like my right hand wedding planner. At this point, my pockets are tapped. If my groom wants to buy his mom something, then by all means, but I'm not buying her a present.

Hello ladies! I'm back from the honeymoon and officially married! The day was more than I could have asked for and goes by so fast. Half the things I worried about I didn't even notice on the day of!

Congratulations! Where did you honeymoon?

Met with my day of coordinator yesterday and picked up my wedding band from the jeweler. My list is long but I think I can make it through. Next task is to buy the contents for the welcome bags and start designing the label on Microsoft Word. I'm going to print out my own gift tags. The actual bags were just shipped from Oriental Trading, so hopefully they reach in the next few days.

On another note, just wanted to shout out Amazon Prime and how helpful it has been with getting wedding accessories. I got my shoes from them and I just ordered a dress accessory. Woohoo.

I hear you.. no one is helping us pay for a damn lol we're doing it all by ourselves. But someone mentioned that it would be a nice gesture to get her a gift. I dunno.. we'll see.

I got my jewelry and birdcage veil yesterday.. I'm SO glad I went to a boutique to get it vs ordering online, because once I actually tried stuff on, my vision totally changed based on what looked good on me. I spent a smidge more money than I wanted to but that's okay I'm really really happy with what I got.

I agree. I was going to have someone make my veil from my "vision" but the amount of money she would charge was the same as buying a veil from my bridal shop (around 200 something), so I just bought it from the shop b/c it was easier and I didn't have to deal with making appts to meet with her and potentially getting a product I disliked.

I wish I had seen this advice. I had someone make my birdcage from my vision and it just didn't work. Bought one from a bridal shop the week of the wedding.

2 months to go. We got our rings this weekend. Should get the marriage license this week if not next. I'm working on my shoes, veil, corset. Should be sending out the invites by this week. Still haven't finalized things with the florist. Still don't know what to do with my makeup and hair yet.
