2015/2016 Brides Roll Call & Random Thoughts :-)

Everybody's big day is coming up so soon! Wishing each of you the best of days.

We really should have a "First Year of Marriage" thread since there are several of us. I keep reading that the first year is one of the toughest...

Yes, we need this!

Sending good vibes to everyone getting married this weekend! You will feel such relief once it's over and done.

Less than 30 days away. Im nervous about the actual event because I'm shy and don't like a lot of attention. Think I'm going to want to run in a room and hide lol. Still don't have jewelry, hairstyle and my shoes are up in the air. I can't wait til this is over. I just want to go on my honeymoon and be on a beach.

FH and I decided on a wedding venue and caterer. We're all set to book. So, excited! We just started planning. We're having the ceremony and reception at the place. The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception inside. I love that they only do one wedding a day, so we're free to pick any 5 hours and we're their only focus for the day.

*side note* My wedding isn't until 2017, but there isn't a thread for that yet.

My work friends, boss, and coworkers threw me a surprise wedding shower today AND IT WAS soooooooo nice

I didn't register, I have been adamantly saying I don't want gifts or a party (and I meant it, I thought :look:) but this was legit one of the nicest, most thoughtful things evarrrrr. And it got me super excited. i haven't had cake in about 5 years but that cake was amazing. I'm doing this cute lil ugly thing where in the final month before my wedding, I have been eating more than usual and missing more workouts and missing stuff in my beauty regimen more than normal. It's not cute but I'm trying to just live :look: ten days to go.

So nice

On etiquette: I'm in the office until a week from tomorrow. I know normally you do ️thank you cards after but should I do them between then and now? I need to get these feelings of happiness and gratitude from inside my body to them :drunk:
I know how you feel! I wasn't big on getting gifts and was thrown a surprise party at work. And they went out of their way to get me food that I could eat (vegan) with yummy desserts too. I am normally can't eat anything at social gatherings at work. I did send a group email and then once you have recovered from the wedding and regular life you can send a formal thank you card that you will send guests.

Wedding and honeymoon have come and gone.... Had THE most amazing time, all 10 days in both places. My husband is so ****ing amazing... we are seriously vibing right now. He and I aren't the types to think that marriage changes things - I dont love him 'more', he doesnt love me 'more', etc. We are just in a really good place and really enjoying one another.

About five hours before we got on the plane, we were in the emergency room because whatever 'bug' that I was feeling coming on, kept getting worse, plus I was having some intense pains in my lower abdomen. A CAT scan later, turned out I had pneumonia and some growths in my ovaries. :wallbash: So frustrating. They gave me a huge dose of antibiotics in the hospital, then some to take with me. Initially the Dr. didnt want me to travel, and to stay in the hospital a few days....... but I kinda told her to kick rocks. :look: So I had to look like I had SARS at the airport with my face mask on lol but whatever. I lost my voice too, but thankfully it came back enough on the wedding day for me to be audible during our vows.

On the flip side, the last day of our honeymoon, hubby started feeling weird. Long story short, he got food poisoning we think, and was sick for the plane ride home, and the drive home and since we got home yesterday. He's in bed watching football now lol still somewhat miserable but doing better.

All in all we had such a fabulous time... So many beautiful memories were made, and the things that I thought were a big deal didnt matter a bit.

Im laying in bed deep conditioning my hair, doing homework and posting here, he's next to me watching football and YouTube...... so things are right back to normal lol but I wouldnt have it any other damn way.

Congrats to all the newly weds, to the newly engaged and to those who will be married soon!!!!

NO PICS!
I's married nah! :spinning: the entire day was a rush doing last minute things but the wedding was nothing short of amazing. My husband was perfectly made for me. There's nobody else that gets me like he does. It was the BEST night of my life. I'm also 17 weeks pregnant so I was exhausted halfway through the night. I can barely keep my eyes open now but I have a smile on my face that's not going away! I'm just glad this day came and went cause now we can keep moving forward. This whole month was in slow motion. Alright, lemme get my butt to bed! Future brides to be: once your beautiful day arrives, don't stress over what you shoulda coulda done. Just enjoy the MOMENT. The night literally flew by!
