The Elasta DPR-11. I saw that today and was tempted to get it. Looked at the ingredients and mineral oil was #2. I knew it wouldn't end well. Reading this thread, I'm glad I listened to my instincts.

Queen Helene Cholesterol noticed my hair felt coated after I rinsed but I just ignored it and wrapped my hair when I started to flat iron my hair there was a greasy coating on my hands and on the flat iron also I have fine hair it was a stringy greasy mess had to wash my hair and start over. Also neutrogena triple moisture leave in left my hair feeling coated and not at all moisturized.

Elasta QP DPR 11--Left me with dry straw like hair
Millscreek shampoos-- Tangled hair
Denman Brush-- Lost soo much hair (no good for my 4b hair)
Baking soda-- Felt good while rinsing off. Single strand knot city once hair dried
This thread really shows how products work differently for different people I love the Elasta QP DPR11 but I do use it a little differently I add in grapeseed oil and DC with it my hair feels so nice afterward silky and soft it's one of staples now.

Care Free Curl Gold
Tresemme Flawless Curl Mousse

Both were an extreme waste of money to me. Hair was dry after using them. Will never buy again.

Hawaiian Silky 14 and 1 - Came out of the spray bottle funny, did absolutely nothing to my hair. Left white specks.

Palmers Coconut Hair Milk - Left white specks

Vitapointe - Started out leaving my hair feeling GREAT, then turned on me. Never thought my hair could feel dry and greasy at the same time. Liv is much better.

Lustrasilk Olive Oil Cholesterol - Awful, but my hair loves the Shea Butter formula.

The Granddaddy of them all: Miss Key 10 en 1. AWFULLLLLLL The smell gave me a headache, and it left my hair completely tangled.

Hmm...so I HATED the following products because it made my hair feel dry and tangly WHILE I was using it. How can my hair feel like straw with water? You know a product sucks when!

Aussie Moist Conditioner
Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle
Aussie Moist 3 Minute Reconstructor
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration
Suave Humectant
Organix Coconut Shampoo AND the conditioner
Shea butter by itself
Aloe Vera Juice

IC Fantasia Gel (the clear one) SUCKED! Did not keep my hair laying smoothly and I had white crap in it. I will stick to my Ampro brown gel!

Giovanni Direct Leave In- left my hair horribly dry as soon as I got out of the shower. I ended up rewashing with a cheapy shampoo.

Olive Oil- my hair doesn't like it at all. It loves JBCO though.

im sorry, off topic:spinning:

Anything with pink lotion in it makes you want to kick rocks with no shoes on, you be so fustrated like man i really thought it would keep my NATURAL hair moistered. Lol!!?

Man anything with pink lotion makes you feel like you want to kick rocks with no shoes on, i really thought it would moistered my " NATURAL" hair. Lol neva again.

ummmm...Castor Oil.
Only because I was allergic and sick for days.
I didn't even know someone could be allergic but I DC'd with steam and it went into my pores and O.M.G. I have never been so sick I get the shakes just thinking about it.

luster's pink lotion. it was just bad. and thats before the new scent came out. it smelled but i thought it was the best thing ever.

Maaaaan Pink Oil Moisturizer is the DEVIL! Who knows where I'd be had it not been for that pink stuff. I think it's on the LCHF Hall of Fame for bad products.

That's horrible! Hopefully your face and neck didn't swell up like most reactions cause. I'm glad you feel better/:yep: It sucks because Castor Oil is great! Maybe Vegetable glycerin diluted with distilled water could be your substitute for Castor Oil!

i know how you feel, thats why i juice.

but for my texlaxed straight hair i dont want to revert it, so im looking for a moisturizer for staight hair. so far coconut oil is working.

I will look into the Veggie glycerin! Thanks! My face and hands were pretty ugly but my neck was fine. It was the awful nausea and stomach cramping that got me. It felt the way you do with heat stroke or sea sickness. I have a few food allergy and some rare ones but I never even thought about it before using it. Then my mom tells me "Oh yea your Grandma gave you some when you were little and you got so sick it scared us." Geee thanks for coming late to the party there Ma!

love my bantu mild relaxer lol
hate: any kind of gel or hair spray
pantene relaxed & natural shampoo (barf)
hate that grease with the seeds in it
hate store bought "juice"

and oh how we would slather on endless amounts thinking it was doing so much good.

that and any kind of grease. i used so many kinds i cant even remember em all. used to grease my scalp every week. :nono: because of my laziness i stopped years ago...thinking i was doing more harm than good. i dont know where i would be without LHCF.

Elasta QP DPR 11 conditioner.

The worst stuff ever. Left my hair a dry, tangled mess.

That's a product that never gave me any moisture. I used it all but I had to doctor it up, I know I won't be buying anymore.

I think that's the product that started me doing conditioner cocktails in the first place. :ohwell:

- Kenra MC
- Silk Elements MC
- Silicon Mix and all other Dominican products
- Coconut Oil
- Aloe Vera Gel
- Suave and Herbal Essences conditioners, plus all other cheap conditioners
- Elasta QP products (except that fabulous shampoo)
- ORS products
- Joico Moisture Recovery Balm
- L’anza products (protein overkill)

They all amounted to an enormous waste of time, energy and money.

Henna/indigo - gave me the worse setback ever
Can't recall the name but that brown gel stuff. I used it on my edges and it broke off my edges. This was years before I started my hair journey when I was still in high school. I later learned on LHCF that the product has the same active ingredient found in relaxer. No wonder it broke off my edges.

-my honey child-type 4 cream...so thick and pasty like toothpaste yuk

-Raw shea butter.....I dont see how a butter can make your hair super oily and dry at the same time

-Dr. Bronners castile soap....gave me burns like I was getting a perm or something..eeek!

-Fantasia IC gel.....claims that it does not flake but Its the worst flaking gel I have ever used!

All AubreyOrganics shampoos are super drying

Matrix Sleek Look - all of the products, from shampoo to finishing serum and everything in-between... they made my hair a sticky, gummy, frizzy, tangled mess. :nono: I haven't seen many people on this forum mention these products, but in case anyone ever comes across them, just walk away.

You have such a list - what actually work for you? I ask because you have some products on the list that LHCF members rave about (i.e. Coconut oil, Silicon Mix, Elasta QP, among others).

Luster's Pink Lotion - I won't ever use this one agan, even if my life depended on it.

IC Fantasia hair polisher - it was EXTREMELY difficult to wash out of my hair. I had to wash my hair five times to get it all out. I promptly gave it away.

Shea butter - as much as tried to make it work it never did. But I still give it mad props because it's great for my skin, especially my hands and feet.

All products with mineral oil and/or petroleum - if they're not drying out my hair they're breaking out my skin.
