I have seen a lot of women ruin their lives this way. They decide that they are going to have fun with some kang and get caught up emotionally and start trying to make that kang into a husband and father. When my college boyfriend told me that he was dropping out of school to become an actor I dumped him within the week and moved on. Last I heard he was still working low paying jobs and trying to make it. :rolleyes:

I'm very close with my best friend. We've known each other since preschool so we grew up at each other's homes. I always remember her dad saying he would rather they (bff and her older sister) bring home a girl than a white man. And bff's dad is an imposing figure. Sargeant in the police force. Very friendly and jovial and protective around us but I can see why criminals would run the other direction.

Anyway, older sister is marrying a white man in September and I don't think there's any animosity there. He's a wonderful man, kind, loving, makes a ton of money (but so does she, they met in graduate school) and it's a good match.

My BFF took her dad's words to heart more, I think. Her first few boyfriends were... black. And that's about their only positive quality. The last on and off for five years boyfriend was college educated, had a good job, his mom kept him out of trouble, etc. But he was DETERMINED to seem "hard." I wish you all could see some of the stuff he would post on social media. I spent a lot of time with him so I know it was all fake, but he doesn't appear to want to grow out of that, so she finally dumped him.

Now bff is having a hard time meeting guys that are on her level. She has two degrees, a professional job, and she's beautiful. She doesn't want to and absolutely should not settle. She prefers black men and she deserves a great one. I hope she finds him.

I don't know where this is going. I would never encourage her to date interracially. It would be too out of her comfort zone and what she's looking for. But sometimes I wonder.

My 10 yr old ds had to school that cousin when he started bringing up his white girl topics. i was so proud. My kids and I made it known that talking that nonsense is not acceptable around us and we have black pride.
I even said black power a few times.

That's what most of them have done....then their cafe au lait babies show up at the doorstep. Or they keep the white girl on the back burner so their family doesn't find out. It don't keep em from them. At all.

Women get mad at me for saying it but mothers have very little dominion in this area. Boys are going to take their mating cues from their father and if he's not around they will take cues from other boys and men. I'm working on a project to help set my cousin set up with a chain of barbershops and when I tell you when I've been in the back room working on the books, the conversations these dudes have when they think no women are around would give ya'll conniptions. These are not bottom barrel dudes neither.

I'm in a male dominated field and the conservations I hear is intense. There is zero filter.

@Crackers Phinn and @LovingLady. Right. I was besties at work with a group of men (black, white, and Chinese) with whom I didn't need a filter, nor did they. Men are so much more base, depraved, and ratchet than they ever let on. Their respect level for women generally, IMHO, is about at zero. I mean they "respect" women, you know what I mean, but really we're ultimately just a lay, a woman they want to lay, a woman they haven't yet laid, or a woman they're not remotely interested in laying (or at least not right now....) oh and the woman they can't lay because they're related to them. And whether they actually sleep with someone or not, they've thought about it---you name it, they've though about it fairly extensively. Just their thought process in and out of bed blows my mind. I'm really surprised that the world hasn't completely been decimated yet with these yahoos at the wheel.

@Cheleigh in undergrad I was in a room as a group of guys discussed the women in the program they would and would not have sex with. They all took turns and listed each one and the reasons why/why not. One of the guys in the room was also dating a girl in the program and the others let him know that she can get it too. Every women in the program got a hard reality on how men really are when "women" are not around.

Ouch. But it reminds me of an ex-coworker who overheard our other ex-coworker ranking her with his friend. Apparently she didn't make the cut. He ended up with a 10+ his senior WW single mother with high mileage.

It's not my only source but yeah. Although, one of my nieces met her 'hopefully soon to be fiance' through one of the barbers on staff.

I got 6 nieces with enviable hip to waist ratios in want of black husbands. Aintee Crackers is doing the best she can to get them in front of husband material and barbers are great screeners.

I just read a very long Wikipedia article about freemasonry because I've never heard of it before, only to get to the part about a separate black people freemasonry. I'll read about those tomorrow.
 
Last summer, I was working in an acquaintance's shop. (There were some racks dividing the shop so you couldn't see me unless you walked past them, but I could hear everything.) Anyway, the conversations were WILD. And these were older men (50s-60s) talking about b**** this and who's a heaux, who looks good (the language was very graphic and descriptive) and what they're getting from each woman. They all seemed like lifelong f-boys and the most bitter one was divorced. They talked for about 3 hours before one of them headed to the back of the store and saw me. His face was priceless.

Now mind you, I used to pass through the shop now and then and those were the same guys who were all "Hello miss. How are you? Can I get you something?" to my face. It also made me side eye my acquaintance because I was like "This are your friends?!?" I haven't been back in months.
