2012 Relationship Random Thoughts.... Part III

He's in Nepal now. I really love that he's the type of person to say he's going to do something and then does it. I can't stand when people talk about wanting to do things with their lives and just sit around and do nothing. He says he's going to start a business so he goes and does it, paid his way through college, says hes going to go travel the world for a month and now he's all over the place. Sometimes his life seems perfect. Plus he gets to date me so it's like wow, you really hit the life lottery dude

It seems like it everything comes so easily to him but he really does work hard and is extremely critical of himself. I'm glad he's not working for a while.

He got me this perfume for my bday that I cannot stand--while appreciating the thought very much--the smell of because he thought it was nice. I enthusiastically thanked him for it and everything but it's been about a week and the ratchet deep down in my soul wanted to take it back and exchange it but this morning as I was getting ready for work I sent him a text (because I think he could sense I didn't like it) that said "I really appreciate the perfume. Thanks again, babe :)" and he shot back "I have to get you [_____] (one that I like :look:) too."**** Oh, ok! You gotsta use them feminine wiles. After years of being blunt and ABW, my mama is learning and she tries to advise me as an adult, bless her heart, because sometimes I'm clueless. lol. But this one was my own idea :giggle:

****I don't care about him actually getting it, but I like that that was his response.

ETA: After the "thanks" text I sent back "I totally smell like a lady." I have a sarcastic sense of humor so it took everything in me not to add "an old lady. :)" Um. In retrospect, that wouldn't have been as hilarious as it was in my head. I gotta do better about this deep seeded ratchetness :look:

so he told me he loves me :look:

the problem is :look:  he just kinda snuck it in there and if i had been paying less attention i wouldn't have even noticed it. it felt like hed said it a hundred times before and was totally inconspicuous

i want a fancy do over!

i told my crush we needed to have an active date tomorrow & suggested skating. and he's like "i have a game later, don't want to get tired, i'll watch you though". uh huh I DON'T BELIEVE YOU YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE.

we compromised on getting something to eat & going swimming.

any ideas of active dates? it's hot as fck so walking around the park does not sound desirable tbh.

He's in Canada at another bagpiping competition until tomorrow. He said that we'd only be able to talk on Skype/fb, because he has crazy roaming charges on his phone (he has an old people phone/plan lol). Well he called me last night on his phone and sounding all dejected :'babe, I'm depressed...I miss you" "aww, why are you depressed? Did you have a bad day?" ".....no...idk...I just miss you and I'm depressed. We need to see each other as soon as I get back cuz :blah: *frustration* " awwwwww he's so cute :)

Not dating right now buy a platonic friend of mine did read some of his poetry to me. I don't know if this is going to be a Doctor Zhivago situation but his poems are actually beautiful and heartfelt.

So... We went to a premium show last night to see Batman The Dark Knight. We got there about 45 mins before the show started. After he got the tickets, I went to the restroom. When I came back, he was at the bar with a drink. I order a drink from the drink menu and a few minutes later, the Bartender says to him his food will be up in a minute... So... I say, u ordered food already (confused as to why he would order without me)???? So... I ordered a salad and grabbed a table. Seconds after we sit down, he got his food. My salad comes right when he's done eating. He goes to pay the tab and then says, I'm going to stand in line. So, I'm sitting at the table eating my food alone. He motioned for me to come over to the line after they said they were going to start seating our movie. I just looked at him and continued eating my food. Fast forward to the movie ending... I'm getting my things together before I get up to leave and I look up and not only has he gotten up out of his seat... He's standing in the back of the theater waiting for me... O_o This really is not sitting well with me. Is he just an a$$ or does he really not know better??? I've never experienced this on a date... Not even with the ones that weren't into me like that.

Is this your SO? Is it possible that he was in a bad mood (and prolly should have stayed home)?

He reminds me a socially awkward ex.

i'm in serious lust (obviously). i just cannot get over how gorgeous he is? and he's also super sweet and adorable + his accent & body. oo-wee. it hurts. sometimes i just stare at him like, "..what even...how is this..." the way he says things is so funny, his phrasing is so strange. and he always says expressions wrong. :lachen: it kills me.

still enjoying talking to the okcupid guy. i'm looking forward to meeting him when he moves out here (couple of weeks) since we do have so much in common/similar interests/sense of humor. even if dating doesn't work out, it'd be good to have a friend with similar interests outside of work here.

My ex did this to me alot and i was too naive to believe that he was disrespecting me :nono: he would get out of the car and be almost inside before i even shut the car door.

Not cool at all. :nono: I probably would've called a friend or cab and just left. But I can't deal with rude/disrespectful behavior like that. :nono: I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the movie. :nono:

I'm hoping this was a first date?? If so, you should probably drop this dude asap. He has no idea how to treat a lady. :nono:

i wouldn't be able to get with that, socially awkward or not. some things are beyond help and i'd consider it that (unless you know him well enough to say this is out of the ordinary behavior for him).

I feel like you should be way more grateful than you are. I'm doing lots to make you comfortable, even when I'm not, and all I hear are complaints.

No i wasnt. Ive been online "dating". :ohwell:

See, IMO, the online dating part is the problem. When I briefly online dated I found that a lot of people don't take it seriously (depending on the site). It's easier to flake out and/or not show up when you haven't actually talked to the person over the phone or in person. People also tend to be more socially awkward with online dating.
