Fine, y'all broke me down. I'll post an early hit -

using cheapie conditioners as daily moisturizers! They smell great (I've been using Suave Tropical Coconut, Humectant, and Strawberry), work great, and they're super cheap.

Ohhh, how do you use it as a daily moisturizer? Do you mix it with a little bit of water?

Hits: BT!!!, Phyto Organics Humectin & Theratin. The H&T don't work as well as my beloved Silicon Mix, but I like it anyway.

Revisted: Aveda USC. At first I couldn't get it to work, but then I put it on last night before I did a cross wrap w/ some Dove mist and I woke up and I was impressed.

Misses
: Nexxus Therappe. It doesn't make sense, considering how well the Humectin worked. It dried my hair out so much. :( It didn't provide slip for me either. I spent most of the night detangling. I have to give it away at the free thread as soon as I come up with some money for shipping.

Next time: Trying to find Giovanni Leave-in, Alter Ego, and Lacio Lacio at one store online. I'm obsessed with leave-ins. Trying to also develop my own moisturizer, I use Dove Mist like it's water!

You can make your own leave-in conditioning spray with a cheapie conditioner, water, and some oil. I just use the conditioner straight out of the bottle if I want a quick moisturizer that smells nice.:) I prefer creamy moisturizers to sprays.

Hit-the Alive powedered vitamin/protein mix from Whole Foods. That was
the one 'real' thing I have done differently since March.
I don't know if it really was the cause but I had 12 week kind
of new growth by week 8/9 and that is the one thing I have can
think of. Even my hairdresser noticed.

Hit-Mixing coconut oil + GF sleek and shine to tame new growth. Really
made it soft and managable with a comb.

No misses yet, I am still testing different things out.

Revisited MISS:

Porosity Control Conditioner and Corrector – I just don’t like the stuff. It makes my hair feel funny. The Porosity Control Shampoo is my staple shampoo so maybe I should use the set as the directions say – PC Conditioner 1st, PC shampoo last – then us my normal conditioner.

HITS
Fermodyl 619 !!!!!!!!! - Love it !!! New Staple !! ;) Thanks Honeydew !
SOLARAY Bamboo - Just ordered second bottle :)

No MISSES yet

hit: MNT leave in. Makes my hair soo soft.

Miss: infusium 23 line. thought i'd try it. I looked like a scare crow afterward

Sunsilk Black Shine Shampoo--This stuff is great and a keeper. Yesterday was the second time I used it and I can officially say that it does what it says. I used this shampoo for my second lather shampoo and it looks like my hair was blacker then before which is a plus since I'm trying to maintain the indigo color in my hair.

Where did you get yours from?
What size did it come in?

Trying this weekend ( I am NOT a PJ anymore, I am NOT a PJ anymore, I am NOT a PJ anymore....)

  • Beauty Beauty Olive Cholesterol Conditioning Creme as a Pre-poo
  • TCB Hydrating Hot Oil Treatment as a pre-poo-I like the V05 Hot oil so much and the ingredients were similiar except this was had Keratin Protein, so I said why not.:look:

Oh snaps...we're doing "trying this weekend"

:p

Putting down my "Trying this weekend".....

Garnier Fructis - Sleek & Shine Anti Humidity Styling Cream...

*will be looking for Priestess later.....I bought the two tubes that were left on the shelf at CVS...whipped out my CVS card - 2 tubes at 3.99 ea, then whipped out two Garnier product coupons...(take 2.00 off...then another 50 cents off with the CVS coupon...):p

Ooooooh...and I got a 5 dollar bucks back coupon from CVS...going back tomorrow to get the Split Ends treatment...then add another dollar off coupon....hopefully I'll wind up spending about...38 cents for it - I love cheap pj'ism...it's da best when you can do it..

I ran out of African pride and decided to try something new a whim. I picked up Motions Nourish Leave-in to read the label. I remember someone raving about it. I was surprised to find it has some of my hairs' favorite ingredients, it wasn't expensive, and it smells great.

That's as much as I can say about it until next month. I'm braided. :ohwell:

OT: Love Love Love how you clipped up your hair with your clip. Now why can't mine look like that good! Just beautiful.:) I love it!

MonaLisa...I was in Florida this weekend and still couldn't find the White Rain Tropical (coconut) conditioner. It was funny because my DH was wondering why we had to stop at almost every CVS, Walgreens, and Wal-mart I saw.

still deciding on:
Aveda Hang Straight, USC, & Sap Moss Styling Spray

eta more hits:

Aveda Hang Straight - I used it to do a rollerset and my hair came out very straight and full of body. It does everything the bottle says it's going to do.

Aveda USC - I take back all the negative things I said about the USC lol. I'm not sure if they reformulated it but it was a lot thicker and hard to apply back then. Also I wasn't using it right before and with proper application, it's now a hit for me :) I used it before blowing my rollerset out and it made my hair fluffy and soft. I've also been using it as a sealant and it's great :D

:) Hits:
~Mizani H20 Intense Night-time Treatment. No more breakage and my shedding is very minimal.
~Visiting the salon for the first time in four years! I got my hair straight like I wanted it, she gave the back of my hair the cut it needed (even though it was so not asked for-- and initially not appreciated-- it's so much thicker and fuller), and it's got some "swing action" going on! It also took WAY less time for my hair to get down and looked WAY better!
~Wrap, Snap, & Go Rollers. Easy to sleep in, great curls in the morning, and they haven't caused any breakage.

 Miss:
~Motions Moisture-Plus. Had me fooled into thinking I had another cheap keeper. WRONG! My hair was dry, tangled, and couldn't do ANYTHING with it before my relaxer. This mishap let me know once again that I better stick with my KeraCare/Mizani and Proclaim as my cheap love.

I see I'm gonna have to stop reading these hits and misses threads. (I went to Trader Joes and guess what I got? :look: )

Sunsilk Hydra TLC 24/7 Creme--This is my new daily moisturizer. I've been using it for the past week on dry hair and I'm very satisfied. I love the price(it's cheap), it is very light, melts right into my hair and makes my hair soft. I also love that this keeps my ends very soft and smooth.

I am glad you liked it. I have been using this since it came out and it is lovely and cheap!!

Hit:

Hairobics scalp rejuvenator oil- smells like spearmint candy and gives a nice tingle. If I use it all over, then I will itch but I concentrate this one on my nape and other slow growing areas. It absorbs quickly and a little goes a long way.

Thank you. I'm very impressed and I'm looking forward to checking out the Thermashine and Straighten out lines. I ordered some samples from their websites so I'm going to see how that goes.
