September Hits and Misses!!!

HITS - Adding coconut oil to my conditioner whenever I do conditioner washes.

Adding vegetable glycerin to my moisturizing creams/hairdressings. Now I know why my friend loves this stuff so much. I didn't need to use much at all. My hair has so much sheen and softness right now it's unreal. My natural kinks and curls are VERY well-defined too. I think I'll bypass curl activators and keep a bottle of this in the house.

MISSES - None for this month

I'm making up for the times I never posted on this subject /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hits:
1. Cream of Nature shampoo--hair feels softer than after some conditioners
2. Pantene Full & Thick conditioner--corrected one of my misses
3. Motions leave-in--makes detangling a breeze
4. Bone combs--they are as good as they say
5. NTM Hair Mask--moisturizing but not as much as I want
6. Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner--combing thru is so easy
7. Profectiv Breakfree--great on wet & dry hair, is now one of my staples
8. Silk scarf--an everyday, every month hit. Have used it before I even knew what I was using it for and always keeps hair sleek looking and soft.

10. Surge--It really worked

Misses
1. Cream of Nature conditioner--made my hair hard
2. Suave condiitoners--made my hair hard
3. Coconut oil, kemi oil, evoo, any oil--just breaks my hair it seems
4. Henna & Placenta conditioner--did not do much

Verdict still out
1. Motions CPR--have yet to try
2. Aphogee--can't decide if it's helping or hurting cuz I haven't used enough

Ready to try again
1. Nexxus Keraphix--when I used I did not know a lot about haircare so I wasn't really aware if it was helping (I also didn't use it right)
2. Nexxus Humectress--same reason as Keraphix

HITS: Nexxus Emergencee, Dumb Blonde Reconstructor and Suave Milk and Honey (as pre-shampoo treatment)

MISS: Nexxus Therapee - did nothing special so I won't repurchase.

Hits: Affirm Fiberguard Sustenance Fortifying Treatment
Nexxus Humectress - I like this mixed with other conditioners.

Miss: Nexxus Botanoil - I'm trying to like it but it's not working very well.

Hits: Lacio Lacio (It doesn't make my hair as soft as Salerm 21, but it does give it more sheen and makes it silky straight with just a heat cap and a twisted ponytail)

Misses: I believe Affirm Sustenance. Could be the culprit to my dry hair condition.

Big hit: Aveda Humectant-It has tamed my frizzy new growth and defined my waves like nothing else. I'm in love.

Miss: Frizz Ease-It did nothing for my hair.

I can not say enough about this product. I've been trying to find the right product to tame the frizz for the longest and I've finally found it. To be honest with you, I wasn't expecting it to work, so I was pleasantly surprised when it did. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Same here! The lady in the Aveda store recommended the humectent to me when I was eyeing the anti-humectent. I was like okay what the heck, I'll give it a try. What a difference! I was so consumed with keeping moisture out to prevent frizz it never occured to me to do the opposite!
Fabulous product! Worth the money!

Hi Nicagirl...

I see that you posted Apretadora as a miss.

I recently confessed to someone on this board..after 2
years of using it as one of my conditioners...I JUST REALIZED...it's a pre-shampoo treatment, not really a conditioner.

Maybe that'll make a difference.

Hi MonaLisa,

I actually did use the Apretadora as a pre shampoo treatment, but maybe I did not leave it in long enough. I still have a full jar, so maybe I will give it another try...

kenra spray leave in doesn't do much but i still like to spray my hair with it

I have some additional products to post. I purchased them since my last post:

Hits-
Kera Care Humetco
Kera Care Curling Wax

Update:

I used the Pantene Pro V Instant Defense on its own, i.e. I did not combine it with the Carol's Daughter Hair Milk and Healthy Hair Butter. It worked very well. My hair really seems to respond to the Pantene Pro V hair products.
