Not hard but it hurts. I nearly cried the first time my husband and I were together. I just chanted in my mind.

Also, a lot of women don't realize that they have three holes so sometimes, if your partner is also inexperienced, he may be aiming for the wrong hole and not know it right off.

People break their hymens all the time during non sexual activities even as children. So even though your hymen is broken doesn't mean you're NOT a virgin. Losing my virginity was easy as pie, minus a few false starts where I kept saying, "I can't do this as soon as he put the condom on." We went through like 4 condoms before any penetration was done. Don't worry OP - most people's first times (or at least most people I know, myself included) weren't all magical and wonderful. It took me and my boyfriend a few times to get it right the very first time - mostly because I was nervous and tense. Once you relax, you two will be fine and you will enjoy it.....hopefully!
