2009 LHCF BOOTCAMP (Ladies get READY)

I am in!


What is your purpose for joining this challenge? To provide the motivation & discipline I need grow and retain a full 6 inches this year.

2. What is your current hair length? 5-6 inches... somewhere around my long neck? :grin:

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? Natural

4. What are your hair goals for 2009? APL by the end of the year; healthy-looking hair.

5. What is your hair reggie?
I change it by season, but my winter reggie is:
-Twists 2 weeks at a time
-CO-wash weekly
-Shampoo & DC every two weeks (between sets of twists)
-moisturize 2x daily
 
1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
I want to continue to grow healthy hair and not sacrafice health for poor quality length and I want to learn how to better retain all my healthy hair once I trim off the remaining mess(about an inch or two left)

collar bone length
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Relaxed
4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
I would love to see APL or as close as I can get to it, without using any growth aides. I don't want to force my hair to grow more than it will naturally with good healthy hair care.
5. What is your hair reggie?

  • I wash once a week with Tresemme moisture restore
  • Condition with GVP(humectress) and GVP(K-Pak) alternating between the two each week
  • I relax dependent upon what my hair needs. When I find tons of breakage at the demarcation line, I relax--usually between 8 and 10 weeks.
  • I plan to flat iron when my ng gets out of control in order to maintain longer stretches(I will usually only do this once a week or every two weeks though)
  • I plan to continue to trim off this bad hair from my pre hair-conscious days.(about 1-2" left)
  • I want to find more creative protective styles since bunning gives me headaches even when it isn't tight.

My staples are my Tresemme shampoo, GVP products, NTM daily deep condish, cantu shea butter leave in, tx silk drops, aphogee pro-vit leave in, vidal sasson leave in, and occasionally lacio lacio

I need a support group so that I can stay on track. I want thicker, healthier APL by June09.

SL I guess I could say.

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Relaxed gal.

4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
Hell I would like to be BSL, but I need to make it to APL first. LOL

5. What is your hair reggie?
My Current Regimen:
-Relax every 4 months
-I use Cream of Nature shampoo and conditioner (moisture) & Aphogee shampoo and conditioner (protein).
-Air dry my hair.
-I limit the use of the direct heat ( flat-irons, blowdryers, etc) for when it
is needed which is usually every 4 months after relaxer.
-I wear satin wraps to sleep to protect my hair at night.
-Moisturize daily if I can.
-Trim ends as needed (2x a year).
-Dust every 2 months.
-Use a clarify shampoo every 2 weeks because I use lots of topical growth aides on my scalp and dont want buildup.
-After my hair is air dryed I then proceed to care for my hair and ends. Using coconut oil on the length, or a cream moisturizer sealing with WGHO/EVOO mixture.
-I try to wear protective hair styles 24/7. Mostly my LF....

Wash and DC w/moisture 2x's a week.
Mega-tek at least 3x's a week.
Moisturize 2x's daily w/ Hawiian Silky.
Bunnning for one year.
Only comb on wash days while in the shower.
Stretch Relaxer 10 to 12 weeks.
 
wow im in just gotta work on my rollersets then cuz the no direct heat is gonna kill me but im gonna try and do it guess im gon be briading a lot in 09 i wanna do the entire year then and see how it goes. yall gotta help me out im gonna order some shea butter and coconut oil when i get back to school in january to help

I want to achieve healthy shoulder length hair for December 09 it seems attainable with my 1/3 inch a month
2. What is your current hair length?
My current length is neck length as in my avatar.
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
I am relaxed but transitioning hence why I really need to employ healthy hair practices. My hair has really thrived since I began to start taking care of my hair this august thanx ladies I have followed a lot of your advice here on the board.
4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
Healthy hair, moisturized hair and retaining a lot of length and enjoying my new growth as it comes in.
5. What is your hair Reggie?
Wash shampoo 1x a week
Conditioner sometimes 2x a week mostly once a week.
DC once a week
Protein when I need it and before braiding and after
Clarify after braids and maybe every six week
Need to work on monitoring the heat usage and perfect my air drying

develop a routine and stick with the crazy hair even when the going gets tough.

2. What is your current hair lenght?
midway btw SL and APL

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Relaxed

4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
Develop a reggie.
DC more frequently
Achieve a moisture/protein balance to curb the breakage and shedding
Have patience with detangling (Find some product w/ amazing slip)
Low manipulation (can't seem to resist dry combing)
To achieve BSL at the end of 09.

5. What is your hair reggie?
Wash and DC 1x / week.(prolly need to add some cowashes)
Moisturize 2-3x/week w/ Hairveda 24/7.(need to up this to daily)
Bunning after each wash. (need to leave the bun alone, no combing)
Stretch Relaxer 24 weeks (I relax only 2x/ year)

If i am rollersetting I will use kercare foam wrap.(I mostly air dry 95% of the time)
I cowash my hair at least once a wk w/ suave coconut.
Moisturizers: NTM silk leave in, Hawiian silky 14 and 1

Sleep in satin or silk scarfs &/or bonnets

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge? I did a session of bootcamp this year and it worked really well for me. I'm in it for APL baby.
2. What is your current hair lenght? Just a touch below SL in most places except for the front sides/bangs.
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? Relaxed. 4x yearly texlaxer.
4. What are your hair goals for 2009? Reach APL. Learn to rollerset.
5. What is your hair reggie? I overnight DC once a week, shampoo. Bun daily and moisturize as needed. I baggy my length at night. And lately have been using heat once a month or so.
 
I'm in

1. To grow out my relaxer and have healthy hair
2. my current hair length is about the base of my neck length i had a funny bob, where the back was short and the front was long
3. i am currently transitioning, my last perm was 3 months ago
4. I'd like to transition for as long as possible and then do a big chop. So transition for 6-7 months and then do a big chop
5. I DC and shampoo every week. at the moment I'm wearing weaves but have a feeling i'll be moving to braids due to excessive itching.

I'm joining for 2009.

I joined 2008 and had great results in session 2 alone while I was relaxed.
I fell off midway in session 3, then did a BC. I've now gotten the hang of the natural 'do, so it's time to do Bootcamp full out.

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
To retain all my growth and keep my hair happy & healthy. The ultimate goal is APL unstretched, I'll need the strength and health to get there. Bootcamp will definitely get me there in an orderly and disciplined manner. :yep:

2. What is your current hair length?
TWA unstretched, NL stretched

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
100% Natural

4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
To grow the TWA out
Maintain moisture/protein balance
Grow and retain at least 6 inches
Overall: Have Happy, Healthy Hair

5. What is your hair reggie?
Haven't quit gotten a grip on it yet, but it will be established come January.

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge? I want to be more consistent for my hair and hold myself accountable for any setbacks I may face. NO more excuses or slacking off!


2. What is your current hair lenght? I'm not really in the TWA stage anymore. I guess TA and when I strectch it's about NL.

5. What is your hair reggie? Right now, I am trying to work towards geting my hair into a bun - not really working for me tho. It's really not that long but it's too thick to stuff into one bun- but I can put it into two. :rolleyes::wallbash: I would like to wear buns as my PS. I want to up my DCs from barely 2x/wk to 3x- and at least with heat and maybe some overnites. I don't shampoo anymore and I don't straigthen. So I cowash every other day or 2 days and either do WnG or wig it.
 
I want in too. I am soooo mad I didnt reach my goals this year, but 09', oh, its gonna be some changes. New year, new president, new hair :grin:.
