2009 LHCF BOOTCAMP (Ladies get READY)

I have little to no idea what this challenge is like b/c this is my 1st year on LHCF. However I'm liking the sound of "Bootcamp" - hence, I'm in and can't wait to hear/learn more!

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge? To have the prettiest, longest, healthiest head of hair i can manage and to be consistent w/ my regiment. :grin:

2. What is your current hair length? I'm in btwn SL and APL.

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? I'm transitioning (can't yet decide if I'm going to take the plunge to natural or stay relaxed.:rolleyes:)

4. What are your hair goals for 2009? Fuller, longer, healthy BSL hair by Dec. 09. (...maybe i'll keep relaxing??)

5. What is your hair reggie?
Washing: 1 co-wash per wk and 1 full wash per week. I pre-poo w/ heat and DC w/ heat for both.

Sleeping: Always in silk or satin; cross-wrap, pin-curl or braided pony.

Wearing: Alternate btwn protective styles and loose ponies (always moisturized daily especially ends) and alternate placement when bunning or pony-ing (if that's a word).

I'm in it again and hopefully I can keep up with my protective styles over the summer. I usually stop once it gets nice enough to so WnG

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?

I just want something to focus on. It gives me a direction of sort to guide my hair care because I tend to slack on often

2. What is your current hair length?

APL, my longest layer is 2 in from BSL

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?

I'm natural

4. What are your hair goals for 2009?

I want to reach my final goal of WL, I'm 6 in away at the moment

5. What is your hair reggie?

My regimen changes often, it depends on the season really. Right now, I'm washing and deep conditioning twice a week. I then put some leave in, oil my hair and then braid it. The next day I take the braids out and wear a pinned up braidout.

I want thickness and to get rid of my logest layer to be almost if not one length.
2. What is your current hair lenght?
MBL
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Relaxed
4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
MBL all one length with bangs.
5. What is your hair reggie?
Poo and DC 2x's a wk. relax every 4 months or longer, rollerset and then style if I don't want to wear it curly. Will be adding henna treatments.

I can't wait to start! For 2009, I made the decision not to bun. I will be doing a lot of updos and wearing my hair out when I feel like it.

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge? Grow healthy hair but do so while enjoying my hair in the process.
2. What is your current hair lenght? A little past collarbone length I believe
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? Natural
4. What are your hair goals for 2009? I want thicker APL by the summer and possibly BSL by the end of 2009. I also want my edges to thicken up somewhat.
5. What is your hair reggie?
For 2009, I will be DCing 2x a week (at least an hour each time)
Henna once a month
Moisturize 1-2x a day
Clarify 1x per month
 
What is this bootcamp you speak of? are we gonna be doing like push-ups with our hair or something?:cry3:*runs away*

Something like that :lachen:It's hardcore girl, you can do a search to see what some of the rules are like. I wanna join.....I really do, but I think I need some time to think about it. I need to consider whether or not I have the discipline. Good luck ladies, I know you will reap handsome hair rewards

just above APL after my most recent trim

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Natural

4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
-BSL by May at earliest, December at worst
-figure out the proper schedule for protein to try to prevent breakage

-go back to 3x a week DC

5. What is your hair reggie?
Currently I wash and DC twice a week> followed with coconut oil sealed with Sabino Moisture Block> lightly blow dry to stretch> hair is styled in a bun 98% of the time, applying Fantasia IC gel to edges to smooth.

Wash 1x a week (Keracare Hydrating)
Co wash when needed
Relax every 8-14 weeks
DC after every wash and CW!
Flat iron every relaxer!(just started this)
Rollersets 85% of the time!
Air Dry 100% of the time!

I want to grow my relaxer out for eighteen months and then do the BC; I should be done by January 2010.

I am currently a little past BSL.

I have been transitioning for three months, I currently have 4" of NW so this is exciting; I am happy that my hair is growing again :grin:
4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
My one and only goal is to make sure that my new growth is healthy... and to resist the temptation of a relaxer :perplexed
5. What is your hair reggie?
Once a week

  • Shampoo and condition with Jason Naturals Fortifying products
  • Hot oil treatmeant [olive oil] for thirty-minutes
Everyday or two

  • Do an AVC rinse
  • Spray Big*Sexy*Hair Soy hair spray to detangle my hair
  • Apply KCCC &/or Knot
  • Air dry :yep:
 
I'm In! Although I joined earlier this year, I consider myself a newbie because I am now becoming consistant with this site....I can't wait to start bootcamp :)

I want Healthy, Thick,and eventually Long Hair!

2. What is your current hair length?
I have a Very layered cut right now, so thats hard to say...the longest layer is SL, shortest layer is ear length

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Relaxed

4. What are your hair goals for 2009?
Healthy, Thick hair with my longest layer reaching APL by 6/09, BSL by 12/09.

5. What is your hair reggie?
Don't have much of one right now, just wash and DC once a week, try to keep my hair moisturized. I plan on purchasing some Megatek which i will use 3x per week

I'm Ready to Grow Healthy Hair!
 
Boingboing, LHCF bootcamp challenge is opportunity for us ladies who determined to retain every mm of growth that comes out of our scalp in 2009.

Here is a quick rundown of the rules of this challenge.
1. No Direct heat (Hooded Dryer is accepted)
2. No trimming (Dusting is allowed)
3. Deep Condition w/every shampoo wash
4. Wear ONLY Proactive Styles (Buns, Braids, Twists, Weaves, etc.) or Low Manipulation (Braidsouts, Rollersets, etc.)

The challenge will have 4 sessions
1. Jan 1 - March 31
2. Apr. 1 - June 30
3. July 1 - Sept 30
4 Oct 1 - Dec 15

5. What is your hair reggie? Well I don't really have set one, it changes as my hair changes. So far I just wash with Dr. Bronners Soap and Deep condition afterwards once a week (on saturday). I usually do a banded ponytail and keep it like that until the next weekend washday. I keep it oiled with Organic Coconut oil and call it a day. I'm lazy! Oh and i do a bentonite clay treatment every 2-3 weeks.

Do a monthly egg,shea butter and mayonnaise treatment (works for me):yep:
dust ends every 8 weeks
and clarify once a month with AO's green clarifying shampoo.

2. What is your current hair lenght? brastrap
3. Are you Natural or Relaxed? 75% natural with textured ends in the middle (crown)
4. What are your hair goals for 2009? Thicker and full WL hurr :grin:
5. What is your hair reggie?
-ayurveda regimen which includes washing with powders/poo bar and DC 2x week and ayurvedic oils for pre-poo, nightly masage and seal.
-moisturise and seal daily
- night time baggying
- co wash weekly alternating between AO protein and moisture cons
- henna every 2 weeks
- Hard aphogee 6-8 weeks.
- wet bunning and half wigs, wash and go's for protective/low man styles
-Once a month/6 weeks I will chelate, DC and use curlformers or rollerset my hair using high end salon products (lanza and pureology) and during that week I will just stick to the ayurvedic head massages

Okay, so I didn't even get to really participate in LHCF Bootcamp '08, but I am here and ready for '09 baby!!

Seeing that I just recently decided to truly limit my product selections and to ultimately love and nature my hair, here is my response:

1. What is your purpose for joining this challenge?
To gain overall health and longevity with my hair. I need more manageable, softer, longer stronger hair, that doesn't snap!

2. What is your current hair length?
Just above my shoulders.

3. Are you Natural or Relaxed?
Natural 4a/4b mix

4. What are your hair goals for 2009?

*To have APL by Dec 31, 2009
*Stronger, more healthier hair
*Soft beautiful hair
*To have found the staple products my hair needs
*To stop worrying about my hair, and just keep on growing
*To stick to my regimen/good habits for hair care.



5. What is your hair reggie?

*Right now I just pre-poo sometimes with Olive Oil, or Castor Oil, then I shampoo (only if I have gunk on my hair), if not I just do a Wash with conditioner, then Deep condition for 30 minutes, next I rinse and apply a leave-in or a moisturizer, followed by oil, then proceed to style with shea butter and or a very moisturizing hair product. I wear twists/twist-outs/cornrows/braid-outs/plaits and puffs.

So I am ready to achieve results with this challenge!! :yep:
