Where did you hear that at? I was thinking about taking these.
i believe i read it on a hair board. might be on here. and also if you do a search online. to prevent it, one has to drink lots of water

Formation of cystine kidney stones, recurrent infections and subsequent renal failure are the main complications

http://www.allstarhealth.com/lj_c/Cysteine.htm

what i also found out is that if kidney stones is in one's family, l-cysteine might cause you to have it.

i started taking l-cysteine again cos i dont know anyone in my family with the problem so wha-ever. lol

Hi Amorette, basically over the last 6 months I’ve been taking msm, silica and the last four weeks I have religiously taken 6,000mg a day of EFAs/EPA fish oils for moisturised scalp and menstrual problems. Well two days ago I took my hair down from my usual bun to wash my hair I parted a section and to my surprise my texture has changed again, the curl pattern is dramatically looser, I was very shocked I can only belive that it’s the EFAs I haven’t upped my dosage of silica or msm yet. I have up to 2 inches of growth. I’ve been using the sulphur oil mix for over 6 months and it really helps to stimulate growth, I use it a couple times a week, my scalp also itchies after every use, proof that’s its working. I’m sure you can use the nioxin follice nutrient system, I also use other growth enhancers on my scalp too, just expect tht you will have some annoying itchies going on.

wow! that's what I'm talking about - reaallllly loose curls...i have really tight ringlets, and it is very wavy, and i would love it if it would relax a little so you think it is your fish oils huh? i took those for a month - just ran out, but still no difference...i am taking the following daily:
flaxseed 2-3000mg
garlic-oderless 1/day
whole foods adult multi vitamin
2 GNC untranourishair

msm powder 120000 mg/day
hair:

Yes, i'm serious, i didn't expect this at all, i was hoping for a moisturised scalp, i got that plus more lol. from your pics your hair looks pretty loose though, i definitely attribute the recent change to EFA/EPA oils. All supplements that impact hair texture are silica, l'methonine, l'cysteine, biotin, msm, EFAs/EPAs. those are the main ones. Your taking some great vits there, it took 2 weeks after taking my vits to see a difference, its taken a total of six months to see this degree of change. I'll post more newgrowth pics in a couple of months time.

its funny that you say that - that my curls look pretty loose - my curls maybe loose curls to some, but to me they are tight curls, and i want it really loose, like loose waves...lol:lol:   ...what do each of those producs do for you? like the silica?

silica strengthens the hair and creates a beautiful healthy shine
MSM reduces shedding, strengthens and softens hair
l'methonine, l'cysteine both are sulfur containing amino acids, reduces shedding, increases hair shaft, improves quantitty and quality of hair
biotin speeds hair growth, thickens hair
EFAs/EPA's also improves scalp, skin, hair texture

Also what i notice with supplements is that it restores the hair to a youthful texture, when i was little my hair was a very soft texture like what i'm experiencing now....lol i feel young again.

l'methonine, l'cysteine - do these come in some herbs already or do you take each seperately as a different supplement? I would love to try them. I just tried the nioxin follicle booster on my hairline and it is flaming hot red and my head is throbbing (not painful, just throbbing, like I can feel the blood supply rushing to my scalp) pretty weird feeling! I would love if my texture just straightened out completely with a tiny bit of curl!! that would be ideal...the reason being, i lovve my hair, but you cannot see the length when it is this curly it shrinks up like at least 4-5inches.

You can get the two amino acids in combo
I take the silica (mineral) on its own, by kordels
wow, that follicle booster sounds potent, i was also going to add that the msm is good with Vit c, as it helps blood flow to scalp. I can't say if the supplement will leave you hair with little curl. you need to give yourself six months at least, also because your hair is one texture as its natural it is harder to tell the difference. my hair is relaxed so any change is visible.

:) oh okay - your texture is really pretty now anyway - the curl looks quite loose...wow this follicle stuff IS potent girl! im serious i feel like my scalp had a margarita with 3 shots of tequila! :lachen: :lachen:

Thank-you, good luck with your supplements and the nioxin, i wish you much success

I take a daily multivitamin.

Here is my question...is it safe to take all of these vitamins at once? I am not against taking additional vitamins but would like to make sure that the combination is alright. Has anyone checked into that?

Biotin (5000 mcg)
Flaxseed Oil (1000 mg)
MSM (1000 mg)

One tablet a day.

I was thinking about taking Cod Liver Oil & Garlic again since I have it already for colds and sinus problems.

biotin
msm
silica
super b complex
multivitamin

eta: 6000mcg biotin

2000mg of msm
not sure mg/mcg silica
500 mg of super b complex
