Where do they have that? I've never seen anything on the market like it, and I used to be a ponytail-nista way more than I am not. The best that I've seen are the drawstrings and they're a mess! If they even make a similar product, wouldn't it be obvious that they got the idea from Michelle and they would be liable for that?
First of all you have to prove that they got the idea from Michelle. One lady I know in NY I think has been around just as long as Michelle. Now one can argue the mechanics but at the end of the day all the products I've seen are in fact a very flat not bulky attachment that fits like a sleeve on a ponytail. Similar to Michelle's...I said similar!
In regards to Sally how much money you think Alberto Culver has to play with? They can let a lawsuit drag on for years and when sales drop they can offer a meger settlement. Not only that what doesn't have a copycat product. Ain't nobody snatching Suave off the shelves:lachen:

I'm telling ya'll watch out for OOPA:look:

This is it for my free info :look: I'm not trying to argue I'm offering information that's all.

You are not funky acting at all, I appreciate your input. I am not stuck on Sally, but I do dare them to try and produce the UPA Clip:yep: not OOPA Clip:nono:.

Thanks again for you suggestions. I promise you that I am taking them all in. There are some smart sisters on the forum and I know that.
It just wasn't meant to be or maybe it was? But I betcha as soon as you get folks talking they'll be ringing you again.

Michelle, since you need funding, instead of soliciting people here on the board, I've come up with another, more feasible option:
The Lending Club. It's a website where people needing to secure loans are matched up with those willing to lend the money. And I have to say, it works quite well. :yep:

Here's how it works...a lender logs on to see who wants money and what for. Each loan is then funded by several lenders who get an average 12% annual return over a three year period. The borrowers get a fixed rate, based on their credit score - usually a better rate than the bank and much better than a credit card.

It's being used by a number of people who struggled to start their own business. Give it a try.

www.lendingclub.com

Good luck.
Thanks for this. I am checking into it now. One of the other threads that was pulled also made this suggestion and I am working on it. I went to everyone that I know and since I know I have so many supporters on the board I made the bold move to ask for help. You would be amazed at the support that I have received. They say that Afrcian Americans do not suupport one another, but that sure is not the case with LHCF. The response has been overwhelming and I love and appreciate you all more then I can tell you. One of these days, God is going to provide a way for me to pay back.

Are you affiliated with the company that Kei posted, or are they just similar products?

If that's the case, then they might be knocking your leg to stand on from under you
No I am not affiliated. Just my sense of humor that I guess did not go over very well. It's a wonderful product and another great idea.

It's late, so maybe I'm missing the obvious. If I am, please forgive me.

But what is the difference between your product and the one on that website that kei posted? At first glance, it looks the same. But again, that is at first glance.

They are not the same at all. It's kind of hard to describe them without sounding partial to the UPA Clip,:cup: but both sites have video's that show how they work.

they accomplish the same thing , reach the same market, have black inventors
that's enough for me

It's okay to sound partial, it is your product. But as the inventor, I'd like to know what you believe are the essential differences between the UPA clip and the Mane Clip (or whatever it is called).

ETA: Aside from the fact that your product comes with hair pre-attached.

They are both wonderfully successful products. I imagine people on the board use both. I saw a thread that actually compared the UPA Clip and the Mane Clip. I will see if I can find it for you.

Well I can explain both since I purchased both- pics are in my fotki of both too. The Mane clip is a barrette that you can place track hair onto. You have to also wrap about 10 inches of hair around your real ponytail- before you put the barrette onto your ponytail- in order for it to be truely undetectable (per the Mane Clip directions), because the hair in the ponytail will be sitting on top of your ponytail- not around it. I like to use the Mane clip for buns. The MAJOR difference between the two is that for a truely 2 second hairdo, the UPA comes out on top. You're actually just closing a barrette around your hair and you cannot see your own hair between the hair that's attached to the barrette.

The Mane clip= the hair is interchangeable (you can buy hair from BSS), but you keep the same barrette.
The UPA clip= the barrette is interchangeable (You get free barrettes w/ the LHCF discount), but you keep the same hair.

The UPA Clip:

-under the UPA Clip. Your hair is sandwiched between the ponytail hair, so you can't see your own hair from the bottom of the ponytail.

The Mane Clip

-under the Mane Clip. Your hair is out under the bottom of the clip, that's why you need the extra hair wrapped around your natural ponytail (that's my hair under the bottom, no extra hair added)

ETA:: IMO, these are two very good products, I like them both. The UPA is better because there's no extra steps involved (ie. putting the hair onto the barrette and pinning the extra hair onto my natural ponytail before clipping the ponytail onto my hair with the Mane Clip)

Wow! Great illustrations Hairapy! The UPA Clip is indeed, a wonderful and obviously a ONE-OF-A-KIND invention by looking at the pictures and explanation.

I didn't know anything about all this until this thread. I'm going to be ordering the UPA clip.

I hope everything works in your favor Michelle! Just remember that when God closes one door, a better one opens sooner or later -- just keep the faith and don't force yourself in a direction that God does not want you to go in.

God bless you!

You're welcome FlyGirl!:yep:

Well Sally's replied to my email. I can't copy and paste from my phone, but they said that they have no intention of carrying the UPA Clip :perplexed

Oh well, their loss!

Michelle, is the Rite Aid deal looking hopeful? What do you think about the whole QVC/HSN idea?

I think Sallys is pretty pissed at me and my attorney right now. That is something that I am just not worried about any longer. I have moved on.

QVC/HSN are great ideas, but you have to have mega inventory to handle the orders. That is one of my qoals. This first China order is the start.

Thanks so much for your help though. You all would be amazed with the support that I have received from this board. Those $1.00+ really add up quickly.:yep: This has been incredible!!!

I am in the beginning stages with Rite Aid, and they are definately interested.

Good for your Michelle regarding the Rite Aid and I hope QVC/HSN work out for you, good luck!

I sent my email to public relations, hope it helps! :)

ETA: Well duh, I guess I should've read the rest of the thread first, good luck on Rite Aid! :)
