Married Ladies Random Thoughts

Wow, lots of :bighug:to the ladies!

DH is really adjusting well to going from a single almost 50 year old guy to being married with stepson and a big dog. He's been married before but never with kids. He says the transition is easy because me, my son and my dog are all easygoing. My son and DH love each other and are VERY similar. This is his first time meeting my dog though because he was with my exH. My dog is a bullmastiff. He's big, brindle and looks intimidating but he's a very sweet guy. My dog took to DH immediately. They are homies now. LOL

So DH is planning all kinds of family activities for us and creating schedules. It's so cute, he's doing all of things he feels an ideal family should do. I'm really proud of the way he's adjusting to all of this. I just have to remind him sometimes that we don't have to do it all at once. We have years to accomplish all of those things and we have a new baby coming in March.

Does anyone live in Florida or has visited Florida before? I am planning me and DH next trip in March and we both decided on Florida. I was looking and there is so many places! Florida Keys, Pensacola, Orlando, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale etc. Any suggestions?? Me and DH don't do the club scene so anything romantic and relaxing. Thanks!

Do you want to be near the beach? I like Clearwater/St. Pete area and Boca Raton. Palm Beach is cool too. I've heard good things about Naples, but I've never been there.

Thank you so much @FoxxyLocs and congratulations to you too!!

@LucieLoo12

We go to Ft Lauderdale every year usually in September or October and we love it! We're not clubgoers either so we make sure we get a nice hotel and we chill. We usually stay along the waterway because it's close to the beach and has great views. Have fun on your trip, wherever you guys decide to go! :)

Great! Where do y'all usually stay? I'm trying to decide if hotel or resort would be better.

ETA @LucieLoo12

We usually stay at The Il Lugano Residence Inn. It's walking distance to food and the beach. It's tucked off The main road so it's quiet. It's also right next to the water taxi pickup where you can tour the area from the water. The hotel offers nightly happy hour and we've gone when they have live bands playing in the pool area. The rooms are suites. We've stayed in both the smaller and larger ones. Both are nice and come with full sized fridge, microwave, cooktop, dinnerware, pots/pans, etc. We always get a waterway view, the beach view isn't worth it as it's blocked. Be careful though if you go during busy season, the rooms can run $300's and $400's per night.

There are also condos along the beach that ppl rent out. I've never stayed in any of them but they're right on the water so you could likely get beautiful beach views. HTH! :)

I need to figure out something nice to do for dh. He's been sooooo sweet lately...randomly sending sweet texts and stuff. Yesterday he sent me a collage of photos from our wedding day, to me and my dd during her NICU days on up until present day telling me how much he loves me and how I'm a good wife and mom. This morning, I woke up to a note from him telling me how happy he is and how I'm his best friend. Maybe I will do that coloring position he's been asking about tonight, I guess that will be a good start :naughtycouch:

PM this position please. I need some new tricks lol:afro:

I've lost 12 pounds and I feel so good about myself. I gained about 30 pounds since we got married 2.5 years ago. :look:. Before we got married, I was a 8/10, so I was very uncomfortable with this extra weight. I have been on fitness journey for about a month and I'm loving it. DH has been so supportive of me. I have about 30 more pounds to lose, I want to be a 4/6. DH says that will be too skinny but I know what I want to look like and I am only 5'3 so carrying a lot of weight isn't a good look on me. DH is still the same size he was when we got married . I don't understand why? He eats more than me.

Congrats on the weight loss! I gained 20 lbs since I've been married. If I could lose 10 I'd be happy. My DH gained a little too but not as much as me. :/

3 years later I finally updated my name on the last credit card. Also finally finished sorting through the wedding pics for the album early this summer. I don't have a problem with procrastination :duck:

Ok so I shouldn't feel bad that we make 1 yr next month and I still need to send out the last of these thank you cards, change my last name, and print out wedding pics lol

I gained 10lbs since my wedding, lost it and then gained it back over the summer smh. I'm back on track and am starting to lose again. I have 30lbs to lose as well and will reevaluate from there. My hubby is not being supportive offering me pop tarts and toaster strudels and ish lol. I'm like dude no! Lol

These weeks are going by soooo fast!!! I can't wait til I get another vacation from school. We're supposed to be attending a conference in October at a nice casino. Can't wait to go!!

:lachen:That is too funny. He tried it like the first week I started. He came home with my FAVORITE Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies. But when I told him to take it out the house, he did. He realized I was serious when I was getting up every morning at 4:30am for my fitness class.

* Stretching my hand toward @LucieLoo12 hoping the motivation will transfer*
Lol

:lachen::lachen:. It was very hard at first, but I was determined to lose this weight. And evening classes does not work out with my schedule. I actually had to switch one of my morning classes with an evening this week and I hated it. I had no energy to workout after working all day. And all the extra fit people are in the evening class too. Its kind of intimidating :look:. So I love my morning workouts and it gives me energy for the day. But best believe I am in the bed by 8:45 pm. lol. I am wore out by the end of the day!

Hubby kept getting on me about health and fitness. If I sneeze, he would say you need to work out. If I ache, it would be because I don't work out. I could drop a spoon and the reason would be because I don't work out. LOL!

So I joined a gym and I go 4 times a week and I have a dance/aerobic class. Then it became, "Well you don't want to over do it!" I started eliminating things from my diet. Then it became, "You still got to live!" I come home form work, do my quick change and out the door I go. I'm loving my gym membership and more importantly loving how it is shaping my body.

I was intentionally mean to DH two days ago and I feel both slightly guilty and relieved.
I am menstruating so of course I'm moody but the straw that broke the camel's back was my long commute to work, stress and fatigue.
I let it all out and he said I made him feel worthless. All I did was state the fact that I refused to live a life of struggle like my parents did and end up resenting him for it. :nono: I didn't demean him, used foul language or told him anything that should make him feel like a failure. What I told him was actually supposed to make him realize that until now I adjusted my appetite according to his budget but that I was still hungry and that I wasn't satisfied.
I watched my parents constantly argue and my mom is still bitter at 64 about what my dad coulda, shoulda, woulda done if he cared/truly loved her. I told her she made the choice to stay with him and that she had no reason to complain now. I feel like the women in my family are cursed. We can never find somebody who loves us and can walk towards the same goals as us without a struggle. :cry3:
He's very different from my dad which is why I still love him but I'm growing impatient and resentful. He has potential, is currently going to school and works his butt off but we cannot move forward financially speaking because we do not share the same vision in terms of financial growth. He's comfortable and complacent and does not feel the need/urge to make moves based on the fact that everybody else in our circle of friends and family is either at the same level as us or worse off. IDGAF what other people do with their lives or money! I'm constantly growing and evolving for ME and my family.
Instead of taking in what I said, he just took it all personally and started playing victim. I was cold to him but he needed to know that my silence and lack of complaints does not mean that I am happy.
