This is from The Astrology File.

Basic rule is - the higher the number, the greater the “Lasting Attraction” i.e. marriage rate high, divorce rate low.

[ Curious where they got the info?

To put this book together, these guys went through “vast quantities of information stored in databases in the industrialized nations”.

I would have thought the Virgo male would score higher since it's an earth sign. I'm surprised they rated Pisces so low. Gemini I understand why he would be on the bottom. :lol: Another Cancer? I don't know about that one. Never tried it. Seems like a Cancer-Cancer match would be like eating frozen milk. :look:

Haha, do you mean it would be like eating ice cream?? I'm dating another Cancer and it's truly phenomenal! We get along so well, share the same love language, and are both cuddly, sentimental creatures. My last LTR was with a Cancer too and it was the same thing. We only broke up (amicably) when he moved across the country 3 yrs ago.

I'm surprised Pisces is rated so low. I thought they were supposed to be the 2nd best match for Cancers

Why is Pisces so high for the female Aqua, My son's father is a Pisces(March) let's just say everyday I thank God I am out of that relationship. Libra is also on the low end I thought it would have been higher.
 
Hmm. I'm a Taurus and SO is a Leo. I'm second to last for him and he's third to last on my list.

We've been together for around 10 years now and are still very much attracted t each other. I do believe in signs when it comes to most things about character traits and love. But I also believe that some love matches will defy the heavens...

ETA: maybe we are so wrong for each other that it works because I was so close to being born an Aries but missed it by a day and some minutes. And Aries and Leo matches are really strong, if not ideal. I have a lot of Aries traits too.

Have you eaten frozen milk? Wooo Lawd! :nono: It's watery and bland. Which is what I would think a Cancer-Cancer relationship would be like. I'm not sure truthfully. It would just seem that way. Being so alike perhaps we cancel each other out.

I almost had a chance to meet a guy born on the same birthday. :perplexed Now that I see you praise it perhaps I should try it.

I was also surprised by Pisces being so low. I wonder why Cancer women aren't staying with Pisces men. We are there with Taurus and Scorpio. Could it be a stability thing, i.e. emotional and financial?

Your best bet is Libra and Leo then. If you find a good balanced Libra, you will love him. He may even balance you too, or he will at least tell you he will. :lol: They like a lot of mental stimulation and gadgets so that's an idea of where you can find them.

I never meet my matches except online. Perhaps I should take it more serious then. :ohwell:
 
According to this, I guess I should have been in divorce court a decade ago. Sorry to defy the odds, but we met, got married in a matter of months and have stayed married, with no end in sight.

It might be a factor that I just had to look up my husband's sign because I wasn't sure what it was.

Despite me not ever finding much truth in astrology, beside the passing coincedence, I find it fun and interesting.

Actually this book is based on marriage statistics, not based on the authors opinion of what is best for you. In fact I don't think it's ever been said supposed opposite signs never work at all. Perhaps you are the great exception to the rule? I generally use astrology to help me understand not cast out potential partners unless I tend to have bad luck with them.

There are other important factors about astrology that go further than sun signs.


May I ask what your signs are? Do you know what signs your moon, ascent, Venus, Mercury and Mars are in? For all we know his sign could be located in your house of partnership. :grin:

Nah, I don't know all that info, but maybe when I have some extra time, I'll find out and see what people say it all means. Sorry if I came out as against astrology. I'm not, necessarily. I just don't use it as a guide in my relationships and what little I know has not been applicable or correct, apart from random coincedences. Tarot cards have been much more accurate. :look:

Well according to this, my parents should not be married for almost 30 years (Aries man, Libra woman) and my best matches are a Gemini man or Pisces man, to which I say NO WAY.:nono: I'm an Astrology fan but so much goes into synastry that's beyond the Sun Signs. I'd rather see a comparison of these couples by aspects that are known to be indicators of compatible couples. That would be more useful.
 
In this study it seems to be saying that some pairings are more likely to last going by the data used. It is not saying the signs towards the bottom of the lists in compatibility don't have a significant incidence of lasting marriages. Just that the ones at the top are more likely to not result in divorce. Doesn't look like some of the margins are that large.

As always the rest of the composite chart has to be considered. I do think some things are more likely to flow easier with people of certain sun signs/moon sign compatibility, even before you bring in the rest of the chart though.

I'm surprised, too. They're one of the best matches for Cancers. Overwhelming in some ways, but so great at fulfilling our emotional needs (and lawd knows we have many).

THANK YOU!! I never understand why so many astrology books, articles, etc. say that Scorpio women are compatible with Pisces men. IMO it's one of the worst matches for a Scorpio woman.
