Major HIT: Olive Oil and the Aveda Deep Penetrating Hair Revitalizer as a pre-poo.

I can't stop touching my hair. It feels soft, strong, and moisturized. I am so happy that I did not throw it away after it failed as an after-shampoo conditioner on my relaxed hair.

HIT
White Rain Tropical Coconut Conditioner- did a co wash and my hair went in too SHOCK-loved the slip and moisture.
BIGGER Hit-only paid 38 cents (on sale rack) for this conditioner at Dollar General,Bought it up because of Monalisa and Letitia reviews.
I may have to stock pile a few bottles.

Profectiv breakthru- used it as protection during my relaxer. I coated my ends with it the night before I Relaxed and again the day of. Don't like it as a daily cream but it worked excellent this way. I could tell my hair was protected, lost just a couple of hairs during the whole process.

Do you mean Profective Breakfree? If you're talking about that then I agree! I love that stuff and it really does protect those ends at relaxer time!

White Rain Tropical Coconut lovers, I finally found it. I didnot see it anywhere around here for the longest time.

I was reluctant to buy it because for some reason some of my staple have not been working so well for me.

I look forward to trying.

REVISTED HIT:

Natural Hemp seed butter in lieu of oil for a dry scalp. I had a jar of this and whipped it out last night because my scalp has been super dry for some reason. I am not sure what is going on. My hair is not dry at all. The Hempseed butter was easier to apply than oil and I made more coverage with it. While massaging it in it melted quickly and my parched scalp is thanking me.

Please give feedback once you've tried with a yay :) or nay  ...

I'll try not to be too wounded if you don't like (cause it's my hair baby...)

Hit: NTM Mask + EVOO as an overnite treatment AND for my WnGs! Hair is soft, moisturized. I really like it. :)

Possible Miss: Cantu Shea Butter LeaveIn. I might have to try it again but it seemed to make my hair kinda hard. Maybe I used too much...

Hits ~
Ojon Restorative Treatment
WEN Tea Tree & Fig Cleansing Condtioners

Definitive hit ~
Using WEN as a leave in :notworthy

Using WEN as a leave in is better than Lacio, Salerm 21, Keracare, Giovanni Direct etc....COMBINED!!!

WEN has simplified my regimen sooo much. Between WEN, Ojon and a dab of Chi Silk Infusion, my hair has never looked better! :clapping:

Is that the one in the really big tub?

My sister swears by this for my 6 y.o niece's 3b hair. She and my mom use this on the baby's hair while it is wet and braid her hair up with it. I was going to try it for a braid out, but I don't think my hair will like it.

Yep, thats the one! Its funny becuz I remember using a teeny bit on my hair while it was dry and flat ironed and it seemed to make my hair smoother. But when I try using it wet my hair doesnt seem to like it.. I could definitely see it working for natural 3b hair tho.. :yep:

That's funny, just a few days ago I was going to pick that up to use for flatironing. Since my last protein treatment, my normal heat protectant (fantasia ic in the pink bottle) has not been working. It was too heavy. I wanted to try a cream that is both moisturzing, not only and contains silicone. I started to get this leave-in, but I was not sure about the ingredients. I have just heard so many good things about it.

I have been wanting to try the Wen. Do you go through it pretty quickly? What is your regimen now with Wen?

Thanks.

Hit

Giovanni Direct Leave In.... I like it but it's nothing spectacular. I wasn't using a leave in at all before. I think I'll buy it again.

No Misses yet...

ETA: Oh yeah I really like the Cantu Shea Butter leave in. It does get a bit gummy. But it works good for me on dry hair. On wet hair it was kinda gooey and left white residue. And the smell is great. I was using it on my weave so I wouldn't have to keep cowashing when it got frizzy. And people would walk in my office and be like oooh somebody's got some good smelling lotion. Who is it? And it's be like it's my hair.

Hit:

Aphogee Keratin and green tea restructurizer
Aphogee Leave in protein conditioner
Jherri Redding natural protein conditioner
Boundless Tresses
ORS replinish pack (Keeper!)

Miss:

Ellin Lavar Textures Liquid Motion flexible hold styling lotion
Ellin Lavar Textures Optimoist Shampoo (not moiturizing at all!)
...I decided to try a different shampoo, but Ellin Lavar made me wanna run right back to WEN.

hey mzrhonda, a ponytail rollerset is when u put 10-12 pony tails in ur wet washed hair, and roll up the ponytails like a regulat rollerset, take them down when they are dry, and u have the same results as a rollerset without the hassel... I love them, once u take them down u can flat the rubberband marks ou(ur roots) or simply wrap hair up and te down (silk wrap)

HIT: Ponytail Rollerset - I did this last night and my hair came out amazing so much body and bounce. I did it on dry hair. I'll try it on wet hair when I do my wash.

Hit: Nairobi wrap it shine foaming lotion

When I first got from under the dryer my ponytail rollerset was kinda crunchy so I thought it was a miss. But when I let my hair cool, and combed it out to wrap it, it came out nice.

Vicky Secrets So Sexy Nourishing conditioner (I still have to try the shampoo)
Nexxus Headress (Re-visit)

I purchased 2 bottles of that a couple of months ago and I can't find either one of them

Hit, Nexxus Ensure is amazing. It left my hard strong, but soft and I had very little hair in the sink.

Well I just BC'd so my hair is about nape length (layered), so I use less than many of the longer haired ladies on this board may use. I use 16 pumps. One thing a/b WEN is that when you hear the number of pumps you think its alot, but really its no more than I was using of my normal conditioner. So no, I am not going through it more quickly than my usual conditioners. I think that we as black women tend to be a little 'heavy handed' w/ our conditioners anyway, so please don't let the number of pumps scare you. 16 pumps is not even a handful! I actually use less of the WEN than I did of my Keracare, Biolage, etc. The key to WEN is to add plenty of water so that it foams nicely, and really works the dirt out of your hair. It truly does cleanse like shampoo, hence I am able to wash the Ojon oil out of my hair with this product. When I first found LHCF I tried CO washing, but it left too much of a film on my hair, I definitely had to shampoo at least every other wash which defeated the purpose IMO. SO IME, this is NOT the same as taking any conditioner and washing my hair, b/c this product was CREATED to cleanse and conditoner vs. using a conditioner to force it to do what it wasn't created to do.

To answer your question I wash every 5-7 days with WEN. I pre-poo with Ojon for 1-3 hours and then I cleanse with WEN. I let it sit for 15-20 mins and rinse. On soaking wet hair I add 1-2 pumps as a leave in (the best in the world!!). I also add a little Potion 9 for hold, and literally a dab of silk infusion for heat protection. I either air dry or blow dry depending on time constraints. If I air dry, my hair dries soooo soft and frizz free. I'm going to order the WEN styling creme & oil and it will hopefully eliminate the need for Potion 9 and the silk infusion. Also when I travel, its so much better to take one bottle that does it all vs my usual, clarifier, shampoo, conditioner, leave in, foam wrap lotion, serum etc. With WEN my routine is simple, simple, simple. No longer 5-10 steps :)

My results have been shiny, shiny hair. Fullness, body and no more tight or itchy scalp. Also my newgrowth is always soft. Sorry for the thesis  , but I hope I answered your questions. If you try it and don't like it as a conditioner, I can almost guarantee you will LOVE it as a leave in. It really is that good, and I am a leave in junkie. Overall I have been really happy with the products and if you try them I hope you are just as happy, if not happier with your results :)

Whew I finally got thru all 12 pages

I have a few hits....

Horsetail Silica....I've been taking this twice a day for the past 90 days the result is I have finally regained all of the mega thickness in my hair that I had as a young girl. :D absolutely a staple!

EMU oil....I have consistently applied this to my scalp twice a day for about 2 months...the result is my former dry and unmoveable scalp is now moist and supple, I can touch my scalp and it moves. :yep: most definitely a staple

Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner...that stuff had me  it left my hair very very soft, detangling was a breeze and the moisture is amazing, definitely a staple! :yep:
