I finally appreciate the benefits of an ACV Rinse

Miss

A stylist who blew dry my scalp to the point that it was bone dry as a desert, I only went for a wash and blow dry, I was short on time to do it myself, I don't think I'll being going to a salon for quite some time until I find a stylist who is truly into haircare and listens to me and asks questions before starting any service. I immediately re poo'ed and ACV rinsed the morning of my twist session.

-Myhoneychild "My hair needs a type 3 hair creme".....I absolutely love this product! It is very moisturizing for my hair, I love the fact that it has all natural ingredients, I love the scent, and it made my 1st ever bantu knot-out turn out beautifully! It also defines the texture in my new growth very well.

-Myhoneychild "My hair needs a type 4 hair creme".....This creme is also ultra moisturizing and defines the texture in my new growth very well.

No misses yet!

Biosilk Silk Therapy (Generic)
Kenra Silkening Gloss

No misses.
I need to pull out my sample of Kenra Silkening Gloss. I know it does smell good.

I don't have any hits or misses for January. I haven't purchased any new products, and I probably won't purchase any this month.

Hits:
Shea butter cream: I finally found a recipe that gives me a great moisture and protection....I've thrown out all my other cream recipes

Modified 'Curly Girl' method: I'm sticking with a no silicone regimen/CO wash every 2-3 days which is working wonders for my hair!

Doo gro oil mixed w/Wild growth oil: same benefits but without the strong smell

Miss:
Fantasia IC leave in w/aloe: This sucked majorly, I had to wash my hair out and start over again

At One leave in- Felt good going on but clashed w/my gel

NTM Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave in Creme
Biosilk Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner
Motions Herbal Conditioning Shampoo and Fortifying Conditioner

Misses

Im also on a no new product challenge but did get to try something new since I got a gift certificate for christmas:

Hits: Matrix sleek shampoo and conditioner, incredible softness and slip and I could comb thru my hair easily with 12 weeks new growth!

Misses: Nioxin smoothing poo, conditioner, and scalp treatment. I will try this again after I relax, but it did nothing for me with all this new growth, I had to wash it out and start over bc it was dry and tangled.

other hits revisited: S curl no drip, Salerm Wheat germ mask, CON shampoo, and Queen Helene Cholesterol....yep Ive been taking it back to the old school digging out stuff.

Hits!!

Affirm Sustanece Fortifying treatment bought this in Jamaica unintentionally(IMHO this is better than 5 in1, doesn't make my hair dry, and delivers lots of moisture).

Curly Girl method= since performing this method, my breakage has reduced to a minimum, good bye to shampoo

Rediscovered Lekair cholesterol, mixed with eggs and milk, = the softest my hair has ever been since being texturized.

Rediscovered Profectiv Roothealth, delivers excellent moisture levels to my hair.

Rediscovered Keracare jojoba oil moisturiser is perfect on my damp hair after deep conditioning.

No misses so far so good!!!!

Hits:
Myhoneychild’s Sophia’s Old Fashioned Hair Grease—a great alternative to petro/mo/wax based pomades!

Myhoneychild's White Chocolate Creamy Pomade (she changed the name to something else...)—I don't normally like lotion moisturizers because they leave my hair feeling stiff and hard, but I like this one. It isn't greasy at all.

Sheamoisture Leave-In Conditioner— I finally found a local bss that sells this stuff. It leaves my hair feeling very soft. It looks really thick in the bottle. I was worried about getting the "body lotion in my hair" effect. I like it, but if I'm going to use a lotion moisturizer, I prefer the Chocolate Pomade. :)

Golden Sun Los Caballos Conditioner—Great for cond. washes. An impressive ingredient list and only $2 for 32 oz.

Misses:
Oyin Grand Poo Bar—OH LAWD! My hair was stripped like a muth!

Oyin Whipped Pudding—lighter than most hair butters, but still too heavy for my hair. I used a nickel sized amount on wet hair and it seemed to encourage shrinkage. :ohwell: Maybe it will work better when my hair is longer... I do like it on my skin, though. :)

Not sure:
Oyin Greg Juice—it’s cheaper than the Natural Hair Humectants from Myhoneychild.com, but it’s not quite slippery enough for me…

Oyin Honey Hemp Conditioner—no slip at all. But it could be because the Grand Poo bar stripped my hair.

Alter Ego Garlic Hot Oil Treatment—very moisturizing, but I was expecting to be blown away based on the price.

Jessicurl Confident Coils—I think this product made my hair even poofier and frizzier than normal! Maybe I’m supposed to mix it with something?

Myhoneychild's Lemon Hair Puding Lotion—I like the way it makes my hair look, feel and smell :lick: , but it has little bits of lemon in it. It looks like I have boogers in my hair. :( I use it when I know I won't be going anywhere where people will get close to me.

Hey Sassy..I think you might be using too much of the Confident Coils..there was a thread about it making people's hair dryer(on NC).. which would cause puffiness and frizz right?....but people were saying that they are prolly using too much.. maybe that is the case with you?? Here's the thread.. maybe it will help??? http://naturallycurly2.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=43652
