I don't know. I just started a thread with my 1yr. progress pics and asking ladies if I have met APL yet. I really don't know.

My hair is cut in layers, so I measure my goals by the back. I'm not aiming for a blunt look.

yup same here! My hair was cut into layers a few years ago, and I'm letting it grow. However it falls, is however it falls. I like the layers in my twists anyway!

I agree with all the "back" voters. My hair seems to be naturally layered. I like it this way though. Provides for great BODY....My hair in back reaches my bra strap....SO I CLAIMED IT..

I don't understand why most people chose when their back reaches goal but the majority of people who claim a length that I see on here claim it when one strand is touching. I just thought the poll results would be different.

If the bulk of the back of your hair touches the line (about 4-5 inches horizontally) then I count it.

I hate when I see women start threads and they only have the tip reaching their goal length and then they are confused as why it is taking them SO long for them to reach the enxt goal--they never truly met the first one!!!

I'll wait until the majority of my back reaches the goal point then claim.

Ironically I have a lock of hair at the back that has decided to take off on it's own and grow a helluva lot faster than the rest of my nape. So now I have this hair that is not that far away from my next milestone (APL). I'll have to cut it though as it's going to look ridiculous! :ohwell:

when the majority of the back is touching then I feel it is safe to claim it. my front and sides grow at their own ( slow) pace so there is no point waiting.

My hair grows in a 'V' and it is layered so the back of my hair reaches my goals before the front. So I claim a length when the back of my hair reaches the goal and it surpasses the imaginary goal line by an inch. I want to make absolutely sure that I made a goal and not fool myself.

My hair is healthy and thick and I have stop paying attention to the length checks. I am now going by photos of my hair idols. When my hair looks like either Sonce or Sera25 that will be it. My main goal now.

I drove myself nuts the last two years constantly checking and rechecking. I quit all together doing it. Still debating if I will check during my 5 year anniversary.

I can see changes it is improving so one way or another it is getting there. Maybe another 5 years or less.

Have no desired length. Pretty much the longest that I can grow it naturally til I'm 45 then gonna shave it off. Sport my first baldie and start all over again till I'm 60.

Mind you..there will be trims

depends on how you want your hair.... layered or blunt? For me when my back layer reaches a certain point thats when I will claim. If I wait for all of my layers to catch up then it will be about another 1.5 years to 2 years to claim full BSL or WL. Its not that serious

I claim a length as soon as the back of my stretched hair touches it. Right now I'm just touching bra strap (the longest my hair has ever been!) and I'm aiming for waist length. I'll be happy when my braidouts fully rest on my shoulders.

I claim whatever length I have when most of my hair is in that spot. i.e in the front I'm APL, and in the back I'm BSL, but on the forum I might not be consider BSL for the sake of the hair police, but with people IRL they could care less and considers my hair long and "down my back"

The back of my hair needs to hit the goal length. I would be waiting forever and a day for the rest of my hair to catch up to consider my length goal met!

Yay! When my back section reaches that goal! My hair grows in layers naturally and I would rather not keep setting myself back trying to achieve a blunt cut! Let it grow, let it grow, let it grow! lol:

My goal is reached when MOST of my hair is there. At least 60% of it AND when the shorter strands are no more than an inch or two away. If my ends are see-through or scraggly looking or badly uneven, I wouldn't say that I've reached my goal.

I voted other because my hair tends to grow in layers so I would say when most of the hair has hit the line and the hair is clearly at this point.

they r in full effect too

My goal is full bsb and b/c my hair grows in layers I most likely have to grow my hair mbl then cut it off but my goals can change. I base it on where my back hairs falls at.
