is it when just a few strands hit the imaginary goal line?

is it when the hair in the back reaches it? (while the front, crown and or sides may be 2 or more inches away from the goal?)

is it when all of your hair is touching the goal line?

is it when your within one inch past the line? (all hair or not)

For me my goal will be met when my hair is healthy, thick, bluntly cut, and a few inches past MBL all around except for my bangs in the front.

This is my ultimate goal, but I focus more on the intermediate goals to stay motivated. My first goal was to have healthy nonbreaking hair - got that. Now I am focusing on shoulder length, blunt, all one length - I'm working on that one and I'll be there in about one inch in the back, but still two to three inches on sides and in the front. I'm working on that too.

After I reach those goals, my new goal will be gaining length while keeping up with the other goals.

When I read a few inches past mid-back, we'll see what happens then. Right now, I think my goal at that point will be keeping it.

My goals change depending on where I am at the moment.

I've had several goals. I consider my goal met when my hair touches that goal. EX: when I met BSL, I considered it BSL when it touched my bra. I'm still BSL even though I'm past my bra strap but my front layers are a little past APL.

My goal will be met when most of my hair rests comfortably (about one inch) below my waist. This leaves room for dustings/trims. The front may be a bit shorter.

When the back of my hair fully covers the goal I consider it met. My crown just doesn't grow longer than the back of my hair. The strands at my crown are the same length as the strands at the back but they are higher up my head so my crown appears shorter. I figure if your hair is out and you clearly are APL or BSL or whatever, people will comment on your nice APL, BSL, etc. hair. They are not going to come and inspect your hair to see if your crown or your sides are shorter. As long as my hair is full, thick and healthy and it is clear I have met my goal (i.e. if I am APL there is no mistaking it), I consider it met:yep:.

I don't know if I really have a length goal. I guess when it becomes too much for me to handle, I'll be done. I can't imagine that happening though.

My sides and back are actually the same length, and the crown is shorter so when the back and sides get to BSL, MBL, WL, then I'll consider the goal met because that'd be like 80% of the hair there so to me that's enough to claim it. JMO

I have a zillion layers. I want to part my hair across the back of my head (somewhere around the middle or top of my ear) and ALL of the hair below the part reaches armpit. then, i will have met my goal.

Sigh. its so far away

I have always maintained a blunt cut, so when I reached APL and BSL, I claimed it when most of my strands were at those lengths. But now, I am more interested in my "natural" hemline rather than a blunt one, so I will consider a goal met when the back section reaches it.

I say when the back meets the goal, because i have layers and the front is only to my collarbone or so, but the back goes to BSL and there are pieces in between those two lengths.

ITA with this! I measure my goals by when the back of my hair hangs on it's own at a particular spot. I agree with HoneyA that it has to LOOK, without a doubt, to be at a particular goal before I will claim it. I can't be doing backbends and contorting myself just to stretch a piece of hair to show it's at a certain length... it has to speak for itself.

Agreed! I voted 1 in. past, but I probably shouldn't have. :ohwell: I will consider my long term goal met when I'm at least 1 in. past my waist, but for short-term goals, I measure by the length of the majority of my hair.

Me too....
However currently I am two inches away form APL. I'm talkin about the longest layer, which is the back. The sides are collarbone for the most part and the front is below my eyes. Those 2 inches i'm looking to get this Dec will put my back at a comfortable, but not skimpy APL. the sides past my collarbone and the front under my nose.
