WANT THICK HAIR??? Try Fabric Softener . . .

Sis you know I don't need an explanation. It's fabric softener. That's explanation enough for me. I won't even put VO5 on my head so there's no way I'm going to put fabric softener anywhere near my skin. I don't even use it on my clothes.

Like I said, I'm not that desperate.

Oh I know. I was speaking to the GENERAL audience.

the Active ingredient in Fabric softener is now used in cheapy condishes.

Turning on the hair - and making it DRY as the sahara.

Interesting. I saw the info you posted in the other thread. 80 cents for conditioner...if something is too good to be true, it probably is.

You know what...I remember reading in something like Redbook, Ladies Home Journal, etc (somthin' like that) that if you are out of conditioner and you could use a little bit of fabric softener (to detangle) until you get some conditioner...blew my mind!!!

Out of curiosity though, what ingredient in fabric softener would make hair thicker? Also does thicker in this case mean thicker individual hair strands, or more hairs on the scalp?

BTW...if you read through the entire thread for men's hairloss, someone posted that many of the ingredients are known carcinogens and one is directly linked to pancreatic cancer...a cancer type that is almost always AGGRESSIVELY FATAL. I don't need two of those suckers!!

Seriously though...I hope no one on this board is using Downy for hair.

Bad stuff...

You are right that ONE ingredient is linked to pancreatic cancer. I read that and near 'bout fell out over the fact that anyone would want to still use this after being warned. I know we use a lot of things in our homes and maybe even in the pharmacy (cootie creams and the like), but this is different. At least MN is used on the skin....not the drapes.

I pray that anyone who HAS used it knows that our love and concern are motivators for posting...not nosiness or any kind of judgmental attitude. I'd hate to check in here in 5 years and read about a fellow hair grower who is dying of some crazy cancer or has breathing or Central Nervous System issues that can all be directly linked to a product we tried...

Here's one site I read today...I think it was posted here earlier in the thread.

Please, let all of us be careful. We want long hair, but we don't want to die gaining it.

BTW, Samantha, your quotation is HILARIOUS!!!! No pun intended!!:lachen::lachen: Love it!
