Summer beings on JUNE 21 and ends SEPTEMBER 22.

Who's in??

Since the daily intake amount of water is widely debated, I'm proposing we drink AT LEAST 32oz of water everyday. Some say everyone should drink at least 64 oz. of water, but based on personal experience, that is too much for me. I read on a website that if you take your weight and divide it by 3, you get a better recommendation for the number of ounces you should drink everyday. For example, if you weigh 120lbs, divide that by 3, and your daily intake of water should be 40 oz. (BTW, that was my scenario, and it worked out better for me).

The benefits of water are phenomenal! Here's some additional info I found about water...

Getting your daily intake of H2O is vital, and although nutritional experts have recently been quibbling the exact quantity of water you should ideally imbibe every day, there are a few facts and benefits that everyone seems to agree on.

Water regulates your body's temperature, cushions the nervous system and get rid of waste... and that’s just for starters. Skin, eyes, hair and nails all reap the rewards of drinking plentiful amounts of water, and conversely, if you suffer from a lack of energy , headaches, bad breath, mood swings and constipation, it’s worth asking yourself if you could increase your water intake.

The trick to drinking enough water is to ensure that reaching for you glass or, if you’re on the move, bottle, becomes a habit. So have a big jug of water on your desk to encourage constant topping up, and always serve water in addition to other drinks at mealtimes. Make sure you always have water at hand when exercising, too.

I'm in! I definitely need more water in my life!

I'm down! I have definitely slacked off w/ the water, and most of us don't drink as much water as we should. I think that this is a GREAT challenge. Do we start today or officially June 21? ( I'm never sure of the inner workings of these challenges

) BTW, Andreamaria, I see that you're from Belize. I have a friend from there; please pm me; I have a "hot-sauce" question to ask you.

Yes, I'm in! If I did it right, I should be drinking 24.8 oz. Since I'm a jogger, I need to increase that to 40 oz.

I was waiting for this! I did the last hydro challenge and I feel that in the end, increasing water intake is definately good for my health. Last time I did about 48oz per day on average (more when I worked out) so that will be my goal. Not too little, not too much

I'm definately in. I already drink about 100 oz of water per day for weight loss.

Im in im starting nowas well. Lately i too have been slacking in the h2o dept. and I need to get myself on track.

lol..consider me a fish...already drink half of body weight in ounces a day....which is what i have always read...never heard about dividing by 3...

here is an excerpt i copied from a wellness website...

To determine one's ideal daily water intake, experts at the Mayo Clinic suggest dividing body weight in half and using this number as the ounces of water one should consume. Based on this formula, a 125-pound person should consume the recommended eight servings of water each day; however, someone who weighs 175 pounds should strive for eleven servings.
