DH is on good terms with most of his exes and the majority of my friends are male so i have no problem with it and neither does he.

Don't be so quick to throw female friends under the bus...you may learn some valuable information. I say if she is really just a friend and not a previous lover then you should meet her and let her see how happy you make him and how much better his life is now that you are in it.
