Relaxed Hair Thread

My big sis @MzSwift omg your hair. Like I’m feeling flutters. Your hair looks amazing. I don’t even know hair touching back let alone blanket of flowing hair. This is hitting me deep prob bc of just finishing up my workout and just all that comes with consistency for a long time goal. This site has some of the faith of Job types relating to goals.

Happy New Year, ladies!

Will be putting a fresh Botox tomorrow. My hair reverted almost to natural texture. I will be increasing the heat this time and do more passes. I want a more 3b/3c look vs 4a like I have now. It takes a few treatments of Botox tomorrow get that level of texture change for me.

@Napp I’ve been researching some new smoothing treatments based on the active ingredients.

I’ve been reading about an ingredient called Seraliss RA: (Water (and) Glyoxyloyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein/Sericin (and) Glyoxylic
Acid (and) Sericin (and) Guar Hydroxypropyitrimonium Chloride). It’s found in a brand called Kerametik and Lacio Real. Kerametik has two options, a smoothing treatment or a keratin treatment. The smoothing treatment gives you the option to control how loose your results are. The keratin treatment seems to be the strongest option.

Lacio Real I’ve only found on websites in Spanish. It’s saying it’s a progressive relaxer. It seems to be applied like a Botox treatment. People with highly textured hair should use it twice a month until you get the results you want. But it cautions if you want to keep your curls then don’t use it because I think your hair will not revert back. There are a lot of videos on YouTube with Latina ladies using it.

Influance has come out with a product called Keratin Straightening System that uses S-Glyoxyloy/Acetyl Cysteine, Glyoxyloyl Cysteine, Bis-Glyoxyloy/Cystine as its active ingredient. I can’t find many reviews on this one.

Avlon Texture Release’s active ingredient is Proliss 100: (Glyoxyloyl Carbocysteine (and) Glyoxyloyl Keratin Amino Acids (and) Water). I’ve used that one in the past & did really like my results but it took a long time to revert & I feel like my hair didn’t completely revert. I just repurchased the system this summer but haven’t used it yet. I’ve been trying to see what other products are out there & if the technology has improved.

I’ve been thinking about trying the Influance or Kerametik one out.

I want it so that my results don’t revert. I read about one member here who used henna the same day she would do keratin treatments & her results did not revert. She only had to do her new growth. I’m scared to use henna the same day so I might try henna two weeks after a treatment.

I want an elongated/loosened curl pattern. When I used to texlax my hair, I could never get the results I wanted. It would start off looking like loose curls but then it would revert & I would have to do a corrective which would eventually lead to it looking like kinky straight hair instead of curls. But it was so much easier to manage than my natural hair and it was healthy & long so I just went along with it. But I have always loved curly hair.
From my experience with Botox it takes a few applications to get the texture right because it will revert after a while. I like that it bounces back a little so you can prevent over processing your curls.

A relaxer doesn’t have the same effect as a botox but I still consider the hair texturized. The hair retains the spiral shape even after multiple applications unlike a texturizer. I just fine that noticed botoxed curls define best with a brush or shingling vs rake and smooth.

Here is my hair shingled after a few applications of the Nutree Botox Pink

I would say this is around 4-5 applications
