Relaxed Hair Thread

Always take pictures! Even if they are just for you. I still upload pics to my Fotki. Yes, I realize that's ooooolllldddddd school, but me and @Chicoro are holding on! :lachen:

I still don't think I'm retaining that much length. HOWEVER, pics don't lie! I saw my 2022 pics and had to compare.

It's not down my back yet, but it's coming along nicely! I have to remember that I lost all of my hair due to the stress of my toxic marriage. It takes time to heal the inside and the outside. My hair is a total reflection of that healing journey.

I'll have to learn to be patient. My WL hair is coming.....

@sunnieb using your shoulders as a reference I can definitely see your progress!! And I remember the pics from when your hair was breaking off!! That 2022 pic isn't even your starting point! That 2022 photo brought tears to my eyes when you posted it then bc you came from such a long way.

You're clearing your life of the toxins and nurturing your mind and body and it shows!! Your hair is telling on you!
It's shiny and it IS down your back!!

And, what?? Fotki is still alive!! I'll pay to join you guys there. I loved hosting my photos there! I thought it was dead and gone.

Waist length is here as it just needs some time to come to fruition and appear in the 3D world. Once you make the mental shift in your mind and imagination, the change has been made.

In the 2022 picture, your hair is about 4 inches passed your shoulders.

In your 2025 photo, your hair is about 7-8 inches passed your shoulders. The length of your hair has doubled.

Look at the left side. It’s had even greater length gains because it’s shorter than the right side.

Now, let’s look at that luscious thickness that you’ve acquired! Hair needs time to lengthen and thicken. Neither of those aspects are guaranteed. Yet, the love, attention and care you give to your hair is showing. Congratulations on your wonderful progress!

And I love my Fotki- even though it went dark for 3 years. How long was it not working? I think that’s when everyone abandoned ship.

I figured you'd find or be referred to someone else before deciding to go (back?) to self-relaxing.
I was just messing with you but I know you can do it!
 
So fox cosmetics Botox is very good for a temporary curl loosening. I decided to go back to my favorite Nutree hair Botox pink. It has some fumes but I want more drastic results. I reapplied after 6 weeks. My hair reverted too much and I was struggling. Will try for 8 weeks next time
 
I’m writing from under the steamer post retouch. Y’all that was so easy like omg. I think not letting my hair go feral was the secret for me and using my steamer more. My hair feels medium well ribeye like…shall see how she looks after blowing it out.

Ok not the best shots but I think we have a lil progress.. this really motivates me to stay consistent. Thank you all for sharing your journey as it helps.

You hair went from sitting on your shoulders to well past your shoulders! You've gotta even stretch a little and turn your head more now just to get that picture of it!

When I was snapping my pics I was like aw there’s no change then pulled my pics from Oct and was like hmm well let me hush up. This was the easiest relaxer no crazy tangles, not overly dry. I guess you have to go through a few rough cycles before it starts to get better.
 
Ok I’m really blown by my hair and it just hit me this has been a 2 yr journey as I’m seeing my hair making moves but now my braces are off it’s like I’m seeing so much growth. This hair process is a teacher.
 
So I've realized, looking back over my hair pix and re-reading old threads I participated in, that my hair thrived when I incorporated a reconstructor regularly. Both as a natural and relaxed/texlaxed.

I don't want to pay $21 for 5 oz of product though (Joico K-pak). So I'm sifting through threads for an alternative. Because when I was natural, it was Motions CPR in the bottle, not the tub, bc apparently there's a difference.

I'm not sure if it was the actual reconstructor, though, or if it was the process of regularly DCing...

But if I'm being totally honest, my hair didn't look and feel spectacular to me until I started incorporating the Moremo water tx. So before I drop money on a reconstructor, I'm gonna use this Loreal water tx that I have along with the DCs I already have.

She fought a good fight and finished her course:pray:

The last time I went to her, I didn't know how she made it to the building and finished my hair - that's when I had the revelation I need to start doing my own relaxer.
