Relaxed Hair Thread

OMG, y'all. I'm supposed to be texlaxing my hair tomorrow... TOMORROW!! I haven't even washed my hair! I took down my mini twists last week and lightly finger detangled. Then I separated it into my six relaxing sections and I haven't even done any detangling or washing since. Just lots of moisturizing and sealing. I am ashamed. lol

I have just been so exhausted.
So I've just started watching some texlaxing touch up vids to get me going. And I think I have it in me to wash and DC today. I absolutely need to bc there's alllll kinds of Ayurvedic herbs and powders in my hair right now. I'm nervous about washing it loose since I'm dealing with 9 months of new growth. We'll see what I end up doing. But I WILL be relaxing this weekend!!

ETA: of course my scalp is itching like crazy! **throws up hands**

Thank you ladies so much for the encouragement! ((HUGS))
When I tell you exhaustion is kicking my butt up and down the street...!!!

TWO YEAR TEXLAX UPDATE:

OK, I'm done with my texlax and blowout. Having done this, I'm so happy I recently decided to include more blowouts in my regi!
I forgot how much I enjoy the way my hair feels blown out. I used to blow out in between installs on my hair and I stopped when my hair was short to limit my interaction with my hair bc I might have done something to it that I would've regretted.
My hair is finally getting back to an enjoyable length and while I won't be wearing it out loose more, I don't feel so discouraged by it like I did these past two years.
I'm definitely happier with my two year progress than I was with my one year progress. And I'm already looking forward to next year when I'll be at or close to WL (so that means I'll need to be able to actually SEE my waist, :giggle: ).

Now on to the pix!

I'm so happy with my progress from SL two years ago to past BSB! It felt great to be able to pull my hair down in the back without breaking my arm! :lachen: Now I've gotta get my body right bc it's getting longer and y'all gonna see ALL of my business with these length checks.

I thought I would want to flat iron with this check in but I actually don't! I prefer my hair poofy, it's so soft and fluffy! I'm so happy with how this texlax journey is going so far. I will save the flat iron for the EOTY check. And even then it won't be bone straight.

For today, I'm gonna enjoy my Diana Ross vibe and then I'll be installing a set of mini braids because I'll be busy helping my mom get ready for her housewarming party next weekend! :D

@MzSwift I'm so happy for you! Love your pics and how you give us a look at your journey!

I understand what you mean about getting to an enjoyable length. For me, that is BSL. Not saying that's all the length I want, but I enjoyed my hair at that length. My buns were juicy and when I did wear it down, it was zero effort for maximum results. As we say - length is a hairstyle all its own. :giggle:

As for me, I came in here to ask how this box of Redken goodies was delivered to me yesterday. I swear I went to the website to do research only. How did they get my credit card info and send me the exact products I want??? :brainy:

I relaxed yesterday. I colored my hair with a semi perm dark brown and dark walnut. I will say Design Essentials products are my jam as well as Keracare. Those products have been my staples for 20 years. I didn't use the relaxer, but may try it again next touch up. I dusted my ends and blow dried my hair. I will flat iron today and might just throw some flexi rods in, so I will look decent for work this coming week. I was watching some video and people were commenting about edge control pulling out their edges. I have fine hair and yes, I do have baby hairs. I’m too old for anything to snatch anything out anymore, so I will use foam. Water works for me too, but I like the shine of it all. I bought some more hair clips.. I just need more length.. I am at collar bone length now (layered), thanks to me hacking off my hair in April.

@demlew tell your friend that this description made me buy the Redken Hydramelt:

BEST FOR:
• Curly and coily hair
• Dry, damaged curls
• Hair lacking moisture and hydration

BENEFITS
• Reactivates curls and coils between wash days
• Easier detangling for enhanced definition
• Eases heat styling
• Hydrates, nourishes, and defines curls and coils up to 72 hours*
• Improves manageability

Sounds like they are reaching out to naturals, but my newgrowth qualifies. :look:

Plus, the name just makes me want it! They know how to get their target market! My hair is so dry. I'm always willing to try a product that will give me added moisture.
