Hey guys, drinking too much water can actually put a strain on your kidneys. so please be careful not to drink too too much, anymore than ten glasses a day and you risk damage to your kidneys, and thats not the tall tumbler type glasses its the small cups that you get in drinking machines. Its better to eat food/fruit that has a high water content.
Also drinking large amounts of water will just flush out essential vitamins that most of you seem to be taking. so its worth being aware that you may just be spending money on vitamins that you are just flushing out.

Thanks for bringing that up RachiQue, I just read about that not too long ago. I think a lot of it has to do with timing as well. It's best to drink your water spread out, and not large quantities at once. I also read that our bodies will eventually get used to this new water intake and we won't be going to the bathroom every 5 minutes (like I've been today). I'm trying to stick it out. Tomorrow I'm counting how many times I have to go. I don't know how many it was today, but it was a lot. And I'm sure I'll have to go another 2 or 3 times before I go to bed tonight
OKay....Day 1 has ended and I've been successful in drinking 32 oz of water. It also helped that I thought about this thread continuously during the day, which pushed me to reach my goal.
After posting...I read thru the whole thread....I thought that I reported my progress so far too early.....but since it is now Nov 3rd for me....I guess I'm alright.
It's only after 9 here on the west coast. So I might finish off this bottle and have 1500mL for the day. That's 50% more than I planned!
I was thinking about this thread all day too
I also never realized how much water I drink when I take my vitamins--about 12 oz. Well, tomorrow will be the real test; I was at home most of the day today. Tomorrow I'll have work and stuff and be out and about. I'll be carrying my water around with me
Well I am on my way to bed and decided to post my results for Nov 2. I drank 52 oz of water. I think this is great consirering I finally decided to start this challenge at 9pm. Hope I can stick with it!
I prob'ly had less than my promised 40 oz yesterday but I wasn't counting. I already started today and my water filter is full and ready for action. Cheers!!!!
I am in this one!It will be just the motivation I need to stick with my water program. I started the body for life program in June of this year and it also stresses drinking water. I have noticed significantly clearer skin and less puffiness when Aunt Flo comes to visit.
I am in. I started with 32oz last thrusday. I am doing fine, sometimes I forget to drink it, but.... I drink all my water untill 6pm otherwise I need to get up during the night.
I'm in. My goal will be 132 ounces. I have a 44 oz. cup at work that I fill twice a day, so that leaves me with 44 more in the morning and after work.
Take care
G
that's only half of my 64oz per day goal. I got tired of going to the bathroom
I am going to try harder starting now. I have the little 8oz bottles, so I figure if I drink 2 bottles everytime I take my multivitamins (one in the morning and one in the evening) and 2 bottles with lunch and dinner, I can reach my 64oz goal. Hopefully, I will report back tomorrow having reached today's goal.
Not to gross anyone out, but few years ago a nutritionist told me that urine is not supposed to yellow. It should be clear, and if it is yellow, that means you are not getting enough water. Has anyone else heard this? Since then I have been trying to up my water intake. My goal has been to drink three gallons a week.--kasey
Today Monday Nov 3rd I actually reached my 64 oz goal . Thinking about this thread is really motivating me. It will be difficult, but I will see if I have enough will-power to reach my goal everyday for the rest of the week and then long term.
