Geez, I guess when you know you know. My grandparents were married for 40+ years until my grandfather died 2 years ago and they married 3 months from the day they met. Its inspirational but from them I know that marriage is work, hard work so I move slow.

This is going to sound crazy, but it's true. I met my SO in October and we were married in December. We "dated" three months. I'm happy to say that was almost 13 years ago and we're still "dating!" Why so quick? We were both at a point in our lives where we knew what we wanted, we knew how we felt about each and more importantly, we knew what God's Word said about sex outside of marriage and we wanted to be in line with God. He has blessed our relationship ever since!:yep:

We met March '06 and getting married this month. So that's about a few months shy of 2 years. We moved in together about 3 months after we met, tho.

We met Jan 04, got engaged Sept 05, married Aug 06. So to answer the question, right at 2.5 yrs.

SO and I got married 1 year and 4 days after our first date. Married for 9 years and now getting a divorce. We ultimately wanted different things and maybe if we'd dated longer we'd have figured that out before there was a wedding. But that's just MY story.

ITA. I am going to marry my fiance in February, 10 months after our first date. I think if both of you are marriage minded, you know pretty quickly whether you want to be with that person or not, like within the first three months.

I think waiting is for younger people who are not really settled and need time to live life and find themselves.

Met Nov. 02
Engaged Feb 03
Married Aug 03
So from the time we met to the time we were married was 9 months and we couldn't be happier almost 6 years later!

Met Sept '00, engaged Sept '01, married Mar '04. I wanted to cohabitate for at least one year before I even started planning the wedding.

My 1st marriage we only knew each other 3 months and divorced not even a year later i think. my second DH we dated for 2 years, total of 13 yrs together and 11 yrs married.
