I'm 5'4" and it's about 25" from the top of my head to my natural waist. However, when I measure my hair I usually measure from my front hairline.
 
from the crown of my head to my waist (using a measuring tape) is 26 inches.
I am 5'9"

Unfortunately, my hair isn't that long.....yet!!
 
i'm 6'feet 1/2 and from CROWN to what i perceive as waist :look::yawn:
i'm 28.5" or so

but my waist is high as heyeeelll:ohwell:

Wow this is really interesting! I always thought that my torso was fairly short and my waist is high...hold on lemme measure again lol...

Yup still 25"....
 
I am not sure where the correct start point is....but I measure from front hairline to bottom layer of hair.

My hairline to waist is 29"

I'm 5'7

How weird is that...? I am two inches shy of a foot taller than you, and our waits line (as far as hair length) is only 5 inches apart, and you measure further back than me.. I started from my hairline.. isn't that strange..?
 
dayuuuum for me THIS MYTH IS BLOWN TO PIECES

see similar height with waaaaaaaay different body proportions

thought they'd be a little closer in (or measurements are off)

I'm SOOOOOOO glad you mentioned this. I'm 5'8 but with a really long torso....

So when I see shorter women like Kimmaytube with waist length hair my first response is "my bsl hair is probably as long if not longer than hers and you cant even tell" :perplexed

it's frustrating as many of the hair stars I see appear shorter. and a lot of the "i went from bald to waistlength in 2 years" posters are as well


If ya'll know any err uh...."taller" YouTube hair folks please share.

I mean no shade....just venting the frustrations of a *long-backed chick on a hair journey :lachen:

It depends - height doesn't always equal torso....

a short woman with a long torso and a taller woman with a short torso may have results that aren't as drastically different as one would think ....and i wont even start on us folks with big heads :look:

but if we did this in a scientifically sound way and used two women who are proportionally similar i definitely think the results would be a lot more telling.

there are tons of variables....but height can be a factor

not to mention folks on this thread seem to be "measuring" in 50-11 different ways lol

what's hour measurement from crown to waist and/or hairline to waist????

I've noticed this---the measurements are going to be different when you measure from crown to waist than if you measure from hairline to waist. Unless everyone is measuring the same way then it really doesn't matter.
 
I really don't think hairline to waist is accurate given that you are now measuring people's head size. I think it's best to do NAPE to natural waistline.
 
^^ I also measure from nape to waist similar to KandyCurls. My nape would have to be 18.5" for WL. I was 13'' as of January 1st which put me at BSB.

I'm 5'7''.

QUICK QUESTION FOR EVERYONE: When measuring from hairline to waist, are you measuring over-the-face and chest (Front measure), or over the crown of the head and down the back (Back measure)?

I think I am measuring wrong...I measure from the crown down to the waist in the front....but I am starting to think everyone is doing a back measurement lol

but back measure from the crown in 25
and from the front hairline is 29
 
I'm 5'10. From my crown to my waist is 29 inches. I generally have a shorter torso with long legs. I also measured down my back.
 
I did it in the front. I was using a tape measurer that you have to pull and I'm not flexible enough to do it in the back. :(

Elle, IKR! I had to remeasure myself (This time I got 27.5)
