Disney's Black Princess has BEAUTIFUL hair!

If this movie tops Mulan I'll be so happy.

No other Disney movie does it for me like Mulan does..

"Let's get down to business!..." :::singing:::

OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SONGS TO COME OUT!!!!
Gurl you read my mind. Mulan's my favorite princess. She inspires me even more as I age. I love the songs too so i can't wait too hear what they come up with.
I can't wait for this movie to come out! I'll take all my friends and their sisters to see it. Heck i might take my brothers too.

I. AM. FREAKING. EXCITED. ABOUT. THIS. MOVIE.

When I was Disney-age I relied on Jasmine and Pocahontas when it came to dress up time.:nono: The only ones tan like me.:lachen:

NOW THERE'S A REAL BLACK PRINCESS. And she's...omigosh...wait for it...BROWN! With...with a nose...and lips.

Disney...you may win me back yet! *I still hate you for exploiting workers in Haiti though.*

OMIGOSH! I have to hear the music for this!!

Sadly...I will be running over some little ones to get a good seat for this.
:lachen:I was thinking the same thing. when that movie opens it'll be mostly grown ups in that theater.

This disney princess is trash and completely unrealistic. She's too dark, all of her features are far too narrow and her ends- I dont even see a single split. WTF.

:lachen::lachen::perplexed:perplexed-this WAS A JOKE.....right :look:

In other news- I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT THIS MOVIE. I have EVERY disney movie that has been put in video (including the classics, masterpieces, and 1950s +) I can't wait to add this to my collection

Wait her name is Tiana? What happened to Maddy? I didn't like the name Maddy to begin with but I didn't know they changed it....

Why does the media always have to mix up everything? I am happily married, we are a black couple who are more in love now than when we first got married! My husband is 33, I am 27, we are still young been married 5 yrs not having problems, cheating, none of that! Why can't I let my children see another beautiful black couple on tv without the stereotypes, or being with another culture! It is not that hard and there are plenty of us out here. Some will be sitting right in the movie theaters looking at our spouses shaking our heads:nono:

I guess we have to tell our own stories!:yep:

I'm gonna have to agree with some of the posters.

She should be charcoal blue with an even wider nose and Jay Z lips and a 45 inch booty and only have a 4b twa. Oh yea and National Geographic titties, nothing less:yep::rolleyes: Isn't that what all of us look like?

I should have known she wasn't black enough..

lmao @ this entire thread.

OP, thanx for posting the pics, I cant wait til it comes out.

And yes, Mulan was THE ISH (next to the Little Mermaid and some others)
"we are men! We must be swift as a coursing wind. We are men. With all the strength of a great typhoon....something, something, something, something, mysterious as the darkside of the moon!"-I think those were the lyrics but I loved the whole soundtrack.

Of course she isn't, she needs to have a TWA and be bone skinny as well. Oh yeah she also needs to live in the projects and dream of making it big as an R&B singer, then that would be realistic....Don't forget the mama who lived her whole life on food stamps and she needs to have dead beat dad as well. Oh oh oh don't forget she needs to have a "soul food" type grandma who can cook! Yes yes that is what we ll want! PREACH!

I honestly don't see anyone being negative about her, some of us just don't like the hair, why ya'll gotta go all left field and make it into something it's not?

For all this ish ya'll talkin people might as well had said, she is ugly and Disney needs to do better. Ya'll make it seem like that was said. Lesson learned.:ohwell:

Just now checking back in...

Wow.
This thread has taken a turn. :lachen:

I'm glad many of you liked the concept illustrations. I personally think she's beautiful. Just one of MANY representations.

Sorry for those of you who don't like the drawings, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

The movie comes out December 2009, so if we get it all out of our system, maybe we'll all be okay by then. :swordfigh :lachen:

Anyway, ducking out now...

:peek:

Rasputia? :look:

I can't wait. My daughter so needs this. She loves the princesses, so why not have one that looks like her? Trust me, I will be buying a lot of Frog Princess merchandise.

Rasputia? :look:

I typed that into Google and am in shock:nono: At first I thought it was a real woman, I kept clicking like "Is she some sort of famous porn star?"

Then I realized it was Eddy Murphy's ole no-longer-funny-shoulda-stopped-at-Coming-To-America-tranny-lovin behind:nono:

Here's one:

A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

I honestly don't thinkt he race of the prince matters. In most disney movies you don't really see the prince until the end because the movies are about empowering the main character. So I'm not familiar with the Frog Princess Story, but will the Prince be a main character or just some guy she ends up with at the end?

I think the only exception is Pocahontas and Aladdin. Beauty and the Beast doesn't count because he was the Beast throughout the movie.

Ditto. I would have been happier if the prince was of another race because mixed-race marriages get such a bad rep in the media. I can list so many shows and movies where black relationships are successful (which is why I am surprised you all say differently), but I cannot think of one multi-racial family that is intact (according to media standards).

The reality of the situation stands that a biracial union is indicative of a larger demographic and the every growing changes in race influenced by our youth. It would seem unfair and primitive to show only single- race couples when you have diversity in the workplace and schools.Kids are learning to become more colorblind, but society on a whole is trying to thwart that sentiment because it makes the elders uncomfortable. Its time to accept that times are changing, and holding on to some warped notion of "black love" is not helping to stop it. If anything, I've noticed it tend to create division within the race and perpetuate angry and hurtful stereotypes about minorities.

I'm ready to see someone that reflects the new society. You've got places where multiracial families are the norm and in this country people still lose their minds over someone white with someone black. Time to grow up, folks and let it go.
