Dear Vendor(s):

Dear Vendor's-DOUBLE check your codes for Black Friday..I shouldn't have to send you a pm,stating the code is/was invalid...Get your computer game up.

Happy Hair Growing!

You heard about the fly in someone's hair product? :look: Holla

And that's where I draw line on being polite. I'm not trying to be messy - but what the heck?! I hadn't heard about that. A fly?!?!? Who's willing to name names? I'll take a PM.

If there are sellers distributing products like that, then I would like to know for my own benefit and the people I direct to a lot of these start up companies. I like to give small vendors a chance, but I'm not willing to give a pass on that.

Dear Vendor:

If the Sale starts on Thursday midnight, you should NOT be Sold out on anything Friday morning.

So please prepare in advance so that all of your products last throughout the entire Sale/Weekend whichever comes first.

Boooooo

Very well said. You have some valid points. It's us who keep these folks in business. Qhemet is on my BF list. I want to give their products a try and finally see what is all the hoop n holla is about. I didn't know their CS was that horrible. If it's that bad, why would folks keep buying and waiting for their products? What makes their products so darn special/good? Guess I might not get to see what's all the hooping and the hollering is about these products cause "I AIN"T GOT TIME FOR ALLADAT!"

Seriously there have got to be some products that works just as good as Qhemet if not better...

I think SD products has germall plus. I like her and her products so I'll keep using.

I think you answered your own question.

Most consumers are principally concerned with their own experiences – how a vendor treats them and how a given product performs on their hair; all other issues are secondary. As a result, they will continue to patronize the lax and substandard vendors in order to obtain a staple or effective product.

IMO, therein lies the problem. There needs to be more solidarity within the consumer community. Once a vendor realizes that there’s customer unity and the potential for backlash, they will step up their game and act accordingly. I’ve personally witnessed it happen. However, things will never change until consumers are willing to sacrifice a staple product for the greater good.

In the name of solidarity and the greater good, I need THE NAMES posted in this thread of the vendors sending out products with flies, hair, fingernails, nail polish chips, dog fur, etc. Seriously. All of that is disgustingly unsanitary.

PJaye great great observations!!! :)

I'm not going to post the name because all it does is cause drama and disbelief but it is a pop thread in the vendor forum and the name starts with a. N

Since natural hair has become fashion nowadays vendors think its their right to make "Natural Hair Products" way more expensive than other products. Listen lets clue you in. We're not paying for your bottle designs/labels/brands. What we will pay for is quality, a product that actually does what you claim and transparency, great customer service in all forms and affordability.

Aint nobody got time for you changing up formulas on us, so called sales, half full bottles with foreign matter. If you notice a continuous increase in sales of a particular product it's because we love it Please don't go changing what we love all in the name of cutting cost and wanting us to pay the same price.....once we find out we won't deal; the next best thing is what we will seek.

In light of that, I have been hearing things I don't like about one of the vendors I buy from. See siggy for first one listed that I am "loving". I have also noticed there was no number at which I could contact them for customer service listed on the jar of product or in the public domain ( I couldn't Google it and what I did find was disconnected).

So, I was hoping that perhaps you could let me know what you felt were comparable products as far as slip, softening, detangling and moisture?

I do believe in customer solidarity and in not continuing to support a vendor who is known for lax or substandard business practices.

I can't lie. Qhemet is the bee's knees and I'd buy more often if I could get it locally. But the shipping .... *sigh* I haven't bought directly from them since the sale debacle.

I agree. Insects, dirt and DNA-laden paraphernalia is absolutely unacceptable. No one should ever be afraid to name names in such instances. That is beyond unsanitary; it is a health and safety issue.

You, and everyone else, has a right to offer your experiences and opinions on any given vendor and product without shame or fear of reprisals. There is no need to secretly politick any issue on the corner of PM Avenue and Email Blvd.

Besides, there are a number of unabashed, platinum card carrying product junkies in this thread, myself included, who are more than happy to be of assistance in any way they can. Their experiences and product reviews are an invaluable resource. IMO, it is always best to keep everything out in the open so that everyone is able to make informed choices. In other words, you’re ‘mongst family in here, so it’s OK to take your girdle off and get comfortable.

Well, okay then. I have loved Qhemet products for a long time. Their product line in general is all I would use if I didn't use heat in my hair at all as I would not need protein or thermal heat protector.

The issue is, the cost, the shipping time, and the inability to reach them.

Lately their shipping time has improved which I have witnessed however,
I don't know about buying from a vendor that has no number where you can reach them and that never has a decent sale and that can close up shop at any time whenever necessary. That coupled with other people's accounts of bad service and the fact that in general they are particularly expensive makes me think it would be a great idea to have some options.

As far as hair in product. I was a member of a different forum where one of the posters noted that she found hair in her oil that she received from Soultanicals. She posted pictures of this. So that is what I am citing when I mention that. There are fans of her products and they look good to me too but I will never try them. Not unless they start manufacturing on a large enough sanitized scale where complaints like that are a thing of the past.

I thought I could avoid shadiness by sticking with well established 'been in the game forever' brands. But from what I have observed in the indie hair care industry it is always a toss up.

And there is the key phrase! I think a lot of these companies saw a booming market, with lots of potential for growth & decided to get their piece of the billion dollar natural hair care market.

They didn't realize that maybe they had a gem, or that PJ's are easily swayed by pretty bottles & easy to read ingredient lists.

A lot of these ladies are making leave-in on their stove with a hand mixer. And for SOME of them, I'm willing to look past that. :look:

Thank you for that info. I'm not about drama at all, but I definitely want to be informed.

Reports of a fly and hair in product: Naturelle Grow (Sadly I imagine all Etsy sellers stirring products on their stove. I appreciate their entrepreneurial spirit, but I wonder are they regulated in any way and if their kitchen is being inspected by some agency? Lord, ya'll gonna send me back to Sally (which isn't the best choice either!)

Good grief! Why would anyone continue to patronize that vendor after reading that? If flies and hairs aren't deal breakers, I don't know what to say.

I have to also add this about Naturelle Grow:
The owner of this company is NOT about customer satisfaction. After the incident got out to another forum, a member of that forum emailed her inquiring about what happened. She said that she doubted that the fly was actually in the conditioner.
She should not have even emailed that other customer anything about my situation. That is just shady and wrong. Naturelle grow is definitely one of the worst vendors out there.

I just read that thread and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. I noted that you posted about your experiences in June. The fact that people continued to buy those products from July onward is...the problem, IMO. I’m sorry, but I can’t…

I was here =D

Dear Vendors:

Please don't have a great sale and your site crashes within 20 minutes after "midnight" claiming that all your products sold out in minutes.

Make sure your products are closed upon packing.

This thread is hilarious "hammer time ". Lol

Dear Vendors:

Please put your products in the right container for its consistency and use. I shouldn't have to add 10 extra minutes to my hair time because it takes that amount of time to squeeze a thick as hell butter out of a bottle with a cap top :spinning:. I also shouldn't be worried about contamination because you put a runny product I will most likely use with wet hands in a jar.

Dear Vendor:

Please don't spend $6.50 and join under a pseudo name so you can post about how wonderful your products are.

Someone will call you out on it and call you a Troll. *just sayin'*

Lol y'all went HAM up in here....I can't...so funny but not really! Thnx for the laugh I needed a good one. Very valid points in here. Thnx OP for this thread.

Don't judge...Sent from my Galaxy Note II using LHCF

I actually bought Qhemet's more often when Sage carried it. I hate waiting for products. I have only ordered twice since Sage stopped carrying it. Sage had great C'S and fast shipping.

Slow shipping just irritates me. I will try other products that offer quicker shipping. I will seldom
Reorder if the shipping is slow.

I can't see any mentions on my IPhone. PM me if it is a must see. Allons y

I never realized that some vendors make their products in their kitchens. I just assumed the vendors have a separate area to make their products.

HMMM......I need to rethink some of the vendors I purchase from.

I recently decided to leave micro businesses alone. I will patronize small businesses, but I will leave the micro businesses to the more adventurous. If they are successful and become small businesses, I will be happy to try their products.

This thread is reassuring my beliefs to only use commercial products. But then again they may be just as bad :look: maybe I need to invest in my own mixer and conditioner base :look:

^^ I enjoy patronizing black businesses and I will continue to do so as much as possible. I think I am going to stick with staples or new products from Curl Junkie, Oyin, Bask, Darcy's and similar companies that have moved beyond the mixing in the kitchen to having separate mixing facilities or do custom manufacturing.

Some of those kitchen mixologists have some great products so I will definitely be missing out, but I can't be taking those chances anymore and I am over buying products that don't work.
