August 2007 Hits & Misses

You know, I just really think this relationship with Humecto is meant to be :nono:. It worked beautifully, started tripping so I went to ORS Replenishing Paks, my hair stopped thriving, so I went back and it saved me. Then I came across my new love: Mizani :yep:! I was initially still able to alternate Moisturefuse, Humecto, and Hydrafuse, but now :spinning:. Humecto week is almost a guarantee for jacked up hair :wallbash:! I may finish my tub, mix it up, or sell it (pm me with offers! I have 1/4 a tub left! PayPal only!)... Me and my hair are really bumping heads right about now, so I'm giving it some special TLC and then quitting these unhealthy relationship practices. Okay, before anyone even comments, I know I've got serious problems, lol :look:!

And that CD Healthy Hair balm... I'd heard only bad stuff about it, but when you got the deal I got on it, it couldn't hurt anything to try it. Um, boy was I wrong! Ick!

Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Conditioner as a leave-in: After washing and conditioning with my TJ set, I used this condish as a leave-in on wet hair. I love it. TJs is the best!!

Huge Miss: Aveda Smooth Infusion- dried my hair out something fierce and irritated my scalp:wallbash:

Affirm Sensitive Scalp Relaxer - relaxed with this and my hair aint been acting right since.

Huge Hit: Aubrey Organics honeysuckle rose:) Smells good and made my ahir soft

Hit!!! Sunsilk Hyra TLC for a leave-in. I love it with my air dried hair. My hair is straight in the front but looks a little like a wash n' go in the back, which is fine with me. :drunk:

I didn't actually buy any new products, I had Sunsilk since Target had that clearance sale.

Mizani Rose H2O Conditioning Hairdress-I was soo disappointed with this product it is too heavy for my hair. I love the Nighttime Treatment, and will stick to using that!

I used my MMP from the tub the other week and it didn't work out too hot. I think I used TOO much, because it was like plastic rinsing out. Seriously. My hair felt too coated afterwards.

I was trying to be like LHCF and be overly heavy-handed and it didn't work for me. I am gonna go back to being moderately heave-handed. Being super heavy handed works for humecto, but not MMP. Well atleast in my opinion.

I think this is why it does not work well for me anymore. I am heavyhanded and, although it worked well the 1st few times, it started feeling like plastic. I still have a tub of it and I need to use it up. I am going to try a lighter coating to see if that is why it was not working well.

:yay:yep yep, whoohoo, I'm glad you like it!!! I swear that is one of the best masks I've ever tried in my life.....I ordered another five bottles off of e-bay:grin:

Hits: Aveda Brilliant serum - great shine and I love the scent
Silk Elements heat protection spray - love it for flat ironing, makes your hair smooth and the shine is great and the scent in this is nice too

Misses - I love silk elements products but the Silk Elements Pomade in that little jar for $6.99 at Sally's is just tooooo greasy and it doesn't hold down or smooth down my edges (I am 6 months post relaxer). It's just very shiney thats it. I was sorry I bought it from the first use. Can anyone tell me what else they use this product for cause I spent the money and I have to find a use for it.

Profectiv Megagrowth strengthening deep conditioner - the pits:down:, this stuff is so oily and it does not detangle. I used it on my 6 month post relaxer head and I had to follow it up with nexxus humectress to detangle my hair. Didnt like it at all! I will probably use it as a pre-poo conditioner.

Hit:
Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment!!!! I put this on wet hair, OMG it made it soft on contact. My hair very picky about what products I put on it when it's wet.

Elucence MB Conditoner: Made hair soft on contact!!! Luv it, I use as a leave in.

I really love the Ojon Restorative Treatment, I use it to seal the Elucence MB. I've been really heavy handed with this product, so I ordered Red palm Oil after hearing you can get the same result as the Ojon Restorative treatment. I'm hopeing I get the same effect as the Ojon Restorative Treatment. Right now I'm touching my ends there so soft, silky, and smooth!!!!!

Back with more hits...........

DevaCurl One Conditioner
DevaCurl Angell (smells sooooooooo good, like soft and citrus-y)

Awww! I guess I'm the only person that likes them both !

MISS:
BIGEN!! Now, I've been using the Oriental Black for the last year. Everyone loves my "shiny black hair" (myself included). Well, I don't know if I got a bad batch or what, but I've had the WORST dry, dull-looking hair since dying my hair last week. My hair was so jacked up I ended up doing a co-wash last night (I RARELY do co-washes), and come to find out after what I thought was thorough rinsing, 5-in-1, pooing twice, and then Humecto, uh... There was STILL dye in my hair! Mind you this is after I place MMP in my hair with a shower cap for ~2 hours and then rinsing in the shower with Suave Toasted Vanilla two days after I'd dyed it! I guess I'll be clarifying and "Mizani-ing it out" sometime this week (probably Tuesday night or so)... *Sigh* Minus my goodies, August is not proving to be a good hair month for me :nono:...

OT but can you put highlights or dye your hair a different (lighter) color later if you use Bigen?

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe once you go dark you can't go lighter. But I'm thinking you could bleach it. I'd never do that if I could, but it may be possible. LOL, by the time I finish washing my hair this week, all my color's gonna be gone!

awhh yeah, that is all I needed to hear. I ordered some of this yesterday. I can't wait to get it!

Hits :

Nacidit Olive Oil Rinse - LOVE it ... just did a cw with it and it leaves my hair soft and detangled. A def. step up from using Suave and the likes. It also doesn't leave a film on the hair from any cones.

Nacidit Coconut Rinse - same review as above, except it's def thicker in consistency than a rinse.

Designer Touch curl activator spray- LOVE it.. def. softens up my nape and edges...

Sadly ETA

Alter Ego Reengergizing Balancing Cream - I just bought this and tried it out. It went on well and my hair felt moisturized a little bit when I applied it. I went under the dryer for 15 min, and upon rinsing it out my strands didn't feel pliable, smooth, or soft. I had to give myself a quick poo and then follow up with the Nacidit Olive Oil. I'm pissed b/c I just paid $36 for it and I canNOT exchange or return it. So now I'm stuck with a big tub of fukcery :wallbash:. I will give it to my girlfriend and I hope she likes it.

That's pretty much where my jar is and it's been there for several months too! I just haven't got around to trying it yet. But with this glowing review, I might have to pull it out for my next wash.
