2011 Cowash Challenge--January 1st to April 30th

@Janda, joining now:grin:

How many times per week will you cowash? ~5 I daily cowash but hope to bun occasionally and maybe someday get second day hair
What conditioners are you planning to use? CG friendly so currently Tresemme Naturals, used VO5, suave and HE in past
What do you hope to achieve by cowashing? Ultimately total length retention!
How often (if ever) will you use shampoo? PRN, ideally when I straighten (will be every 3 months for length check)

Will update with pics later
:clapping: Welcome to the challenge!

Cowashed with Silicon Mix Conditioner this morning and wore a wash and go all day. My hair was really soft and bouncy too.

Cowashed this morning using Hairveda Moist Protein Conditioner. I followed up with AO WC. Sprayed my with my usual--Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea and aloe vera juice. Moisturized with more AO WC, sealed with HV Cocasta oil and wet-bunned my hair.

Great, thanks!!! I will be checking these places THIS weekend.
I found them both at Walmart and CVS today -- Walgreens didn't have them. I also saw them in Publix if you have one in your area.

I CW today using Aussie Moist that I learned about on here and bought it today... yep I'm a PJ... oh and the smell is heavenly! Ya'll forgot to mention that.

I followed with Aphoghee 2 minute reconstructor.
And kimmaytube leave-in.

I'm going to attempt this hairstyle that I saw on YT:
YouTube - flexi rod set

My hair isn't that long, but I figured it should turn out okay...

Cowashed yesterday with Bear Fruit Hair Plueberry.

And.......Lots of VO5. I Hendigo'ed yesterday.

So, I Used a Bottle of Moisture Milks in Peach Something and a Bottle of Blackberry VO5 to remove Henna & Indigo.

So I uses the aphogee 2 minutes overnight along with Giovanni direct leave in hair felt ok but o developed white balls when using aloe Vera gel. I initially thought it was sue to rhe way I layered ytc then gel so I switched up and used giovanni smooth as silk as my leave in. STILL got white balls and I've used this combo before with no probs. So today I poo'd with organic a no sulfate poo. Today my clumpage is bananas but I also detangled with tangle teezer and normally only finger detangle.

Btw, anyone else keeping a hair journal? I just started 2 weeks ago.

I cowashed this morning with Nature's Gate Pomegranite Conditioner and I liked it. I could see me repurchasing this one for sure:yep:.

I just finished my bottle of Tresemme Naturals and got a new bottle of Suave Almond and Shea (my old staple). I love that stuff !!!

I just co-washed with VO5 Moisture Milks (diluted) on my Kinky Twists!! This is my first time EVER washing with braids and my scalp is saying "THANK YOU!!!!" I plaited my twist in 4 big braids and poured the conditioner on my scalp, rubbed in it a little, and rinsed!

Hello Ladies :) As a new member, this is my first challenge!

How many times per week will you cowash?
daily in the morning
What conditioners are you planning to use?
whatever I have. Currently its HE Hello Hydration, a few bottles of VO5 moisture milks, and a bottle of Suave almond and shea butter. Trying to find a protein one to add in
What do you hope to achieve by cowashing?
Moisture. This something I've always struggled with, even when I was relaxed. Also length so I can get a BAA :drunk:
How often (if ever) will you use shampoo?
Every Sunday

:thewave: Welcome to the challenge! Glad to have you.

I would like to join.

How many times per week will you cowash?
almost every morning
What conditioners are you planning to use?
It gets expensive. I use Suave Coconut Condish every morning.
What do you hope to achieve by cowashing?
Moisture, which I hope will lead to me retaining length.
How often (if ever) will you use shampoo?
I don't plan on using shampoo often. Maybe once every two months unless its really dirty.

I am. I started 1-1-11. I downloaded a journal app to my phone, since I always have it with me. I also downloaded a note pad. So when everyone raves about a product that I want to try, I have it listed on my phone :yep:

I am not in this challenge but I am a true believer in co washing frequently. Last year while trying new things I co washed (my normal reggie) at least 3 times a week the first half of the year. The second half I followed the regimens posted by a lot of type 4's of only washing/co washing once a week. That doesn't work for me at all. My hair was always dry and I did not retain as much length as I did the first half. So good luck ladies it really helps!

I got complimented on my wng today :yay:

So, I've been playing around mixing my leave-in with aloe vera gel/juice and sealing oil. Yesterday was good but too heavy (used castor oil). Today the mix kept forming white clumps/balls:nono: but I still rolled with it, and I think barring the white balls (which did NOT transfer to my hair, I rubbed well before applying) the mix is good(used Hemp Seed oil). Today my hair was soft, shiny, defined, not at all oily and boingy.

I've realized tangle teazer gives me great clumpage but tons of shrinkage. Finger combing gives me stringier hair:spinning:. It's life. Sometimes I get discourage with all the experimenting, and sometimes its exciting. Now I'm kind of tired and just want stability.

Still loving tresemme naturals though.

So mini regime update: When I first began this challenge I commited to cowashing at least 3 times a week. I was going to do this and then bun. I did this for a couple weeks and have now realized I dont like having a cold head lol. My hair takes forever to dry when in a bun. So now I will be cowashing once a week and then keeping a bun in for 5 days and wearing a braidout for 2 days. This will work best for me(i think) because my goal is full retention and this regime will ensure that I use very little manipulation on my hair.

So I will be cowashing tomorrow.

I do, using a small calender, more of what I do and not the reaction. Dont recall having a bad reaction from a product in general.

I would love to bun, but my little poof is pitiful:nono:, and seems to require to much effort to pull it back. Soon though!

Just poppin' in!

I already co-wash daily, so I'm not here to join, but wanted to send some great vibes and growth energy to you ladies. I'll be rooting from the sidelines!!!

HHG

ps: I use Aussie Moist daily for CW(sometimes Suave Naturals) and have noticed improved retention from the moisture
