2011 Cowash Challenge--January 1st to April 30th

Sign me up for this one, my starting pic is in my sig.

How many times per week will you cowash? 2x
What conditioners are you planning to use? WEN Fig & Tea Tree, Nature's Gate, Skala, and whatever else is buried among the 2 closets of conditioners I have
What do you hope to achieve by cowashing? More moisture for my ends so that I don't end up cutting all my progress away like I had to last year, & to dramatically reduce the size of my conditioner stash :lachen:
How often (if ever) will you use shampoo? Maybe once a month, if that

What do you hope to achieve by cowashing?
hair growth, moisture

How often (if ever) will you use shampoo?
every 2 wks w/ one n only hair one, or one n only argan oil shampoo, ever 8-10 weeks during relaxer at salon

I have never tried Hair One but have heard lots of great things about it. Give it a try and report back with your results.

Whoo Chile...The best thing I can say about Hair One for dry hair with olive oil is the tingle to the scalp is refreshing. Other than that, no bueno :nono:.
I had more shedding than normal as well as broken hairs with this cowash :ohwell:.

Also, I figured that since it said "For Dry Hair", that it was really moisturizing. I was wrong. My hair felt hard. I don't know if I didn't follow the directions completely as far as the pumps etc, but this particular formula is just not for me. I won't totally write off this line but this one is not it! I hope the real thing is better than the generic in this case. I am still going to try the Wen fig soon though because I hear it is very moisturizing.

Okay, rant over! :lachen:

Following up with my starting pic. I am shooting for BSL by the end of this year, so I am hoping that this challenge really gives my hair a boost in growth that it needs. We will see.

Oh no, I'm sorry that the Hair One didn't work out for you. I am not sure how comparable the two products are. Perhaps someone who has tried both can chime in. I use the Wen sweet almond mint, fig and now the pomegranate. I like that it make my hair both moisturized and stronger at the same time. Also, I love QVC and like watching Chaz.:yep:

Welcome to the cowashing challenge!

Just co-washed with Redken All Soft conditioner. It didn't make my hair THAT soft, I don't care for the scent and since its pricey I won't repurchase. Just trying to finish the huge bottle...

I'd like to join this challenge. I will co wash 2 to 3 times a month.
I will use Suave Almond Shea conditioner (which I love for co washing), and Aussie Moist, (which I haven't tried, but I heard is a good cheapie for cowashing). I will shampoo maybe once a month. I just want my hair to be hydrated and soft! Well, maybe grow a lil

Please add me to the challenge.... I love co-washing !!

How many times per week will you co-wash? 5 or more

What conditioners are you planning to use? Tresemme Naturals, will add more in the future

What do you hope to achieve by co-washing? Maintain moisture level and juicy ends

How often (if ever) will you use shampoo? Weekly, maybe less

Cowashed yesterday with Aussie Moist. I like it better than Suave Naturals so I think it will be my new "go to" conditioner. Bye Bye Suave. I finally cornrowed my hair (after stretching it) and I'm still rockin' Oakland Girl by Freetress.

Just cowashed and did a light protein treatment as well. Sitting under the dryer now doing my DCing. I hope this protein is doing something because I like to keep it simple but I noticed SO MUCH breakage at the line of demarcation. I'm not too disappointed but feel like I can't really get a good length check because of the breakage.

Funny you say this. I just bought Aussie Moist fir the first time today. It was on sale. I'm planning on trying it out tomorrow morning.

Give it a try and see how your hair responds. The moisture in my hair has really increased with my cowashing. Perhaps some others can chime in.

Oh no, I hope you can stop the breakage!
