Before joining the site I was already caring for my hair for 2 yrs. So my answer is 1 day. When I was relaxed it would be once a week.

I am addicted to washing my hair every day (co-washing), but I think its because I can do that now. I always envied people that could wash and go with no problems. Used to take me 4 hours to get my relaxed hair done once a week.

What broke off my hair in the past? Being lazy and letting others do my hair. My hair only thrives when I do it myself. Unfortunately it took me like 11 yrs to figure this out LOL

Great question. Since joining lhcf and reading hair books, I try to wash my hair every 3 to 4 days. Sometimes I have have gone a little over a week due to being busy or lazy but that has happened very rarely.

I have gone as long as 8 weeks without washing my hair. I hadn't learned all of the wonderful stuff here on LHCF! My poor hair was like straw and I had dandruff up the ying yang! Never again. Now I wash every 2 days!

Great question! Before I would wash my hair every 2 or 3 weeks. As a child, I was always taught that we don't need to wash our hair as often. LMAO>> Now, I wash my hair at least every 3 days, if I co-washing more. However, I learned that not every wash as to include shampoo. When I first get a relaxer I wash 1x a week, then after about 4/5 weeks post. I up my reggie to include co-washes.

When I co-wash, it depends on the style:

pressed... once every 2-3 wks (I want to make sure the press last long for me to enjoy it)

natural... once every one or two days. (I feel the need to condition and detangle on a regular basis when natural, plus my staple style is a bun when natural that is put together wet. My hair tends to "sour" when bunned wet so... I have no choice)

Other than that I might use a baking soda rinse or mild shampoo once a month to remove product buildup.

I haven't notice too much breakage or shedding since I started this routine about a year ago. I think its actually better for my hair!

I haven't gone more than 5 days without washing my hair. I LOVE to wash my hair now!!!

I think the tips that I've learned here have helped me tremendously. My hair is moisturized, soft, and doesn't break much at all!!!

When I put in my relaxer I will have a better idea about just how much my hair has grown. My last relaxer was a underprocessed texlax (I went overboard with the oil), so it's just slightly less tightly curled than my new growth...so I've got A LOT of shrinkage! I will be updating my fotki and posting results soon.

2mths here, thank heavens i don't sweat in my hair. My stylist was puzzled by it when she was removing my weave cuz my hair didn't smell any at all.:yep:

Pre-LHCF... I went as long as 3 weeks, but usually every 2 weeks (I know, HORRIBLE). Post-LHCF... I generally wash 1-2x per week, but the longest I've gone is a week and a half (due to hectic home/work schedules!).

Washing, for me anyway, is overrated. I wash my hair every 3 to 4 weeks when I take my twists down. I'm to the point where I only use Oils and rosewater or an all natural water based leave in of my own making on my hair so I don't have to deal with build up or caking and my hair doesn't smell bad...just like Vatika oil or Bergamont mixed with Lavender.

I used to wash my hair every other day or I'd conditioner wash everyday, but as my hair grew it became tedious to do so and I didn't notice any increased growth or anything from it. My hair actually seems to grow better with my super low manipulation routine. If anything, the constant washing had me having to battle tangles on a daily basis and going through tons of product.

I picked two weeks.

I'm a weekly washer, but once and a while I get too lazy to do it. I also will not do it if I'm sick.

An extra week here and there isn't going to damage my hair or cause me to be stinky. Heck, I bet I could go even longer without any problem on either front.

I don't understand how/why some people report itchy scalp and other such things. Maybe it's because I don't produce much sebum and I don't sweat.

I DO prefer to was at least once a week though. Sometimes I do it twice and three times a week too... depends on the circumstances, but once a week is the default.

As of today, I have not washed my hair in two weeks. I am flirting with the "low manipulation" philosophy. I try to use light products to minimize any coating or build-up. I use grapeseed oil daily on my ends, castor oil daily on my hairline, and NTM when needed on hairline/new growth. I also use Skala Aloe leave in every three or so days on hairline/temples. I am going to proceed on a day by day basis. :yep:

Omg! Almost a month and i was not using any products on my hair and it wasnt bad at all. I was quite suprised to notice how my scalp was producing oils . I kept my hair tied the whole Time.

I go two weeks w/o cowashing or washing. However when in p.s I don't used a showercap so my hair gets steamy and the ends get wet sometimes.

i dont use gels etc on my hair only olive oil or coconut oil and i have gone MONTHS without washing.... YES thats right i said it MONTHS :look::lachen::lachen:

I have gone 5 days at the most. I remember in Miami I could go much longer, but over here in dry behind new mexico.:nono: Cowashing has saved my hair.

The longest was 3 days because i was sick!
I co-wash my hair every day, or every other day if i'm in a hurry.

Normally every Week when its out, which I was gonna change anyway, because My Hair is extremely fragile when wet, so I was gonna start stretching it to 10 Days to 2 Weeks, but right now, its every 4 to 5 Weeks because I am doing a Mini-Challenge with a Growth Aid and I'm wearing cornrows under wigs till I am 6 Months post, I know, Yuck :nono:, but this is what it is right now, I am doing it to measure My actual growth from the TRMNT. using the braids to measure.

the last time i did the poll, i was natural, which explains the 5 day answer. well now i'm transitioning back to natural, and the longest i've gone without washing i think was about 3 weeks. its just so overwhelming sometimes that i just don't wanna do it. :look:
