Had to go back and find out when this thread started going down hill. We couldn't even get off the first page.![]()
I know some naturals wear it straight. I'm not talking about the occasionally or bi-weekly straight. I mean using flat irons 3x+ per week to keep it straight.

Uh oh. What did I miss?

Dayum. @PinkSunshine77 was snappy from the jump tho! From her second post when she said "so excessive heat is better," I knew she wasn't going to entertain anybody who didn't agree with her. The OP started this thread looking for a fight. Save yall keystrokes for another topic.
BostonMaria do you work out at all? How often do you blow dry your hair?I had to go back to the beginning as well. I got confused because I thought the OP was natural and wanted to know why some of us straighten our hair.
For ME.. My straightened natural hair is much thicker, prettier, and longer than my relaxed hair. Again.. for ME. Because I don't want to offend anyone that uses a relaxer. My relaxed hair is stringy, see through, and never grew past shoulder length.
I love my curls, but its just easier to take care of my stretched hair. I may just be lazy LOL Not sure. I hate salons, the smell of relaxers, and don't miss my scalp being on fire.
A relaxed twistout/braidout/knotout etc will never be a fro, or a big fluffy naturally curlykinky look. It will look like relaxed hair that's been braided twisted or knotted.
As for the white people's hair comment....methinks there's some trolling afoot... but if you were actually serious with the comment... who mentioned white people's hair but you?
::sigh::
Using heat regularly and using excessive heat are two different things.
Just curious, how old are you?

Heat all the time or 99% of the time is way worse than relaxers!! Yall are referring to 3-4 week relaxers and overprocessed hair when its not the same.
If you do a relaxer the right way its much healthier than heat ALL THE TIME. Dont forget ppl 99% is a high percent of heat (i.e. Excessive).
If your natural and you dont straighten everyday or every other day then you shouldnt have answered the question in the first place. It caused a big mess for no reason.
She's lockin the thread because she didnt get straight answers she got the "because its healthy" response which I coulda sworn ALOT of heat was damaging to any type of hair.
