Why are you all so obsessed over haters? My goodness, every other thread is about some women who are supposedly jealous of your locks. LOL you wish. Focus on more positive things and positive people in life.

People acting like their damn hair is all they have.

Best post up in here! This cascades beyond hair here, too. I notice a general tone of people driven by negativity. It sounds sort of nutty, lol. :spinning:

Yes, I will leave....^^^^ I doubt your co-working was hating just being overbearing and pushy. I am sure she probably offer you advice in other areas...

Yes, one of things you can do ...is ignore threads like these....And I will...

enjoy ladies.....I am so sure.....:lick:

I never said my co-worker was "hating" on my hair. Yes she was being pushy, however she and I actually like each other and have hung out on occassion. She's actually a very helpful person, even if we banter back and forth. :yep: In fact I recieved natural oils from her mother when I told her that I needed them. She stopped advising me on my hair when I started complimenting her on her pieces. Enjoy the rest of this website.

i think you are confused maybe you think you are in a different thread. because for one i never said anything about a 'co-working' which i think you mean co-worker since you stated she could offer me some advice. i was certainly not talking about anyone acting cross towards me in my post only a hypothetical situation which was also kind of a spinoff of another post.

honestly i could give a rats u kno what about how some people are interpreting my post because its only a hair board. this isnt where i spend a majority of my life. i paid my damn 6 dollars for some hair info and entertainment and i dont intend to second guess my postings as i might offend anyone. if its really that serious to you get a life and hit the back button. tis all

The co-worker was to someone else posting but your post posted minutes before mine so the ^^^^ looked like I was talking to you. It wasn't. You did not mention anything about co-worker. This is your thread. I will get out and stay out. Sorry. This is my last post here. :offrant:

I kinda think to notice haters WE gotta be paying attention...
We should all be like that lady on the train so focused on other things
we don't notice the hate.
When I was a kid this girl ALWAYS told me "my hair is longer than yours"
She was nl & I was about mbl... She had me to the point I BELIEVED her
by the end of the year. It still bothers me once in a blue moon but we live
and we learn. We're not kids anymore and I use to but don't care to spend
my time figuring out why a woman is bothered by my hair, presence, walk, voice,
laugh, thoughts, SO, puppy, shoes, and the list goes on!
PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS BE BOTHERED BY OTHER PEOPLE I just accept it as something I can't change and keep it moving

I actually like hearing about hair haterade stories. I don't know what ya'll talking about. I can't be the only one.

i only like it when it's a revenge tail. like:
my stylist/boyfriend/bestfriend/mother/neighbour said my hair won't be sh!t w/out her and will never grow long but then i loved it and watered it and now it's awesome. take that b!tches!! you suck! i win!!!
i love those!! so fulfilling

and on another note: iono what OPs intentions were. won't speculate or analyze... there are likely better/more positive things to discuss after midnight but my irritation meter didn't go off at this thread so meh.

i won't fault people for declaring their objection tho. why does everyone say leave a thread if you disagree? this isn't for posting uniform opinions only. you make a post you open yourself to everything even (yikes!) those who disagree w/ you. it's up to the OP to KIM if she doesn't want to derail her thread. anyone can respond in favour or opposed to any post as they see fit.

come back naysayers!! we love you

(it's late... i should be in bed...)

I believe her post was meant for me.

WOW this site has REALLY changed from the way it was 2 years ago when I once was a member. I've noticed more & more how things escalate from nothing to something. A thread like this back then would have been a way for people to talk about experiences or laugh, not turn into something like this. No wonder a lot of the ladies who use to provide valuable info are no longer on here. I'm seriously thinking about having them delete my account.

I just don't like bad attitude toward me for something that I worked hard for. Or giving credit to racial mixture or genetics when its 90% research and work.

I like revenge threads too. I can't stand to hear another person go into a salon and come out with half of the hair they went in with because they trusted a stylist with scissors. Those threads are always painful to read.

I understand someone saying they don't agree but bickering back and forth goes beyond that. I want less naysayers and more stories please. :yep:

I think its pathetic how some women BLANTANTLY CRAVE HOSTILITY from other women. Do yall feel sad when women are not hating on your conceited ***? I bet many of you LOOK for these type of people to get some sort of gratification of making a women feel less than in your presence. So much for sisterhood. Over some damn hair and aesthetics? Grow up.

I don't see where she was 'craving' hateration... And my God. This is a hair forum... So the statement you posted earlier about not having anything else going for themselves but hair... I mean what do you want her to talk about in a hair forum....Why must there be such hostility. If you don't like what she is talking about... Stay out of her thread maybe... You saw the title... Why even come in..

I joined about 2 years ago back then there wasn't a constant stream of "Why are people hating on my hair" or "Why do people think I'm mixed just because my hair is long" Over time it starts to get irritating to see these types of threads. It just isn't useful anymore to focus on the "haters" and negativity.

There are only so many times you can commiserate or share a story. And some of these posts really are bait threads or the poster is over reacting or it isn't really clear whether the haters are hating on her hair or something else. Sometimes it's obvious, at least to me, that the problem is the poster not the "haters". And I have even seen certain posters make several threads about their experiences being hated on. It makes me doubtful of their stories.

Also, there are several reasons why some popular posters don't post anymore. I doubt if the response to threads like this one is the reason though.

~@

I have no clue... She just seemed so dang confident when she said it and I didn't realize the actual length of my hair cause my mom kept it braided. When ppl said it was long I'd always think about what she said about hers being longer and feel so confused smh @ myyoungself

 girl, how the heck did you fall for that okey-doke?

Oh my, Oh my goodness.
I dont understand why people think complaining about similar threads in another, is going to shut people down from making similar threads. If you hate it that bad dont click, its not hard to do at all.
Alot of this stuff is just so catty for no reason at all.

Im reading OP's post and wondering why people mad? you cant be serious, like for real:spinning: !

I hope this thread dont get locked.

Just like to add that while there are some people who over-use or incorrectly use the term "hating", the term was created for a reason because such beings do exist. You dont always have to be looking for them because they will make themselves known to you or try to sometimes.

That is all.

Do you ever wonder why women act rude, stank, or brand new when they find out you have nice long hair? I was thinking about this today and thought that it could possibly be that they see long hair as efeminating them.... you kno how men can be emasculated, well what if the reason it bothers women who dont have the skills to grow their own hair is challenging their own femininity or making theirs less valid. just wanted to put this out there for discussion. :yep:

I don't know, you guys. I kind of got a different vibe from the OP's post. It's an interesting turn on the "hair haterating" discussion (if it is about that at all) that I haven't read on LHCF before. The whole "efeminating" thing never occurred to me. I just thought there were lovers and haters, period. But this is an interesting spin and if you guys could just give this thread a shot, we may learn something. Okay, done with my bit. Now don't stone me...

oh my goodness u ain't never lied about that! lol! I was telling another member not too long ago this board is quickly becoming a joke if you are trying to find info about hair care. Nowadays its just all about infamous 'thread gates' and 'who's doing what with their own hair we disapprove' and just plain messiness. I do get a lot of my info just from looking through old old posts. All those kind of old school, knowledgeable, peaceful women are gone. It seems they've ushered in an angry and confused bunch.

I have been on this site since March 2005 and pretty much subscribed every single year except year 2008. There have ALWAYS been these types of thread as I can remember. They are just more frequent now because more people have joined and more people are apparently "new" to the hairboards and using the Internet for hair growing and hair care info.

This acting stank amongst black women has been going on since field negroes vs. house negroes. Why this question keeps getting asked about the long hair hating in threads, I don't know--but I think its annoying and silly. This site has definitely become a crowding place for young, catty women, and I think they need to take that immature b.s. back to Myspace and FB!! :yep:

IDK I think its a silly question when the answer is obvious: some people hate on long hair, some people dont. Their reasons are impossible to truly know unless you ask them and they tell you, or they volunteer that info. Frankly I don't give a flying funck about anyone hating on me if I choose to wear a long weave, or have naturally long hair. baby girl aint me and aint running this show...so it dont matter!

Honestly, I'm surprised that this is still happening in 2011. They've made so many advances in weave/wig technology that there's no reason for anybody to be mad at the next chick because she's got longer hair. Those who don't have the skills or patience to grow their own can easily go out and purchase some very realistic looking fake hair. Of course, we all know there's nothing like the real thing but, still, it ain't that serious that folks need to be feeling like less of a woman or anything like that. JMO

I know certain stylist can get a little scissor happy with long hair but I have never personally been hated on in public. Not to my face anyway. I've had some interesting comments but nothing outlandish. And when I reached WSL, I expected super hate from the way you guys talk about the blatant hate for women with long hair. I never got it...not from family, strangers, no one. Most people just ask if its real or they assume its a weave. Either is fine with me. *shrug*

I see what the OP was trying to discuss. Do women who feel like they can't grow long hair feel effeminate because long hair is a trait of femininity?

Now hear me on this. Some of the most gorgeous women wear short hair styles Nia Long and Halle Berry come to mind. They are very feminine. I've seen women who wore fades and were much more feminine than a girl with long hair. This video comes to mind...Bobby Valentino -Words. Is the girl with long hair more feminine than the chica who has the fade? Um I think not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaO-KpK1le0&ob=av2n

Also, there are other traits that are considered feminine like wide hips and a nice rack (boobies), pretty legs, a thin neck, small feet, these are just some physical traits. The way a woman carries herself shows whether she is feminine or not.

I have small boobs and slender hips but I don't feel less feminine because another woman has child-bearing hips and a D-cup.

While there are some women who don't like other women because of long hair I doubt its because she feels less feminine. She just wants some long hair without tracks...

Wow so much negativity on this thread...

I think that these types of threads pop up every once in a while. This is, after all, a HAIR forum. I think that if you're in the Off Topic or Entertainment Forum all day and come in pop in here once a year then you might go into culture shock. Its all good.

Well first off I believe your definition of efiminate is incorrect as it applies to men and not women.
effeminating (of a man or boy) having traits, tastes, habits, etc., traditionally considered feminine, as softness or delicacy. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/e…
But I understand from your post that you are wondering if women are feeling less feminine because they see another woman with similar characteristics but with long natural hair that they are unable to obtain. As someone already mentioned, who knows why a person chooses to dislike another. Quite frankly, if a person is "hating" on someone else because of what that person has, then that individual needs to do some self evaluation and take the steps neccessary to achieve that which they covet. Hating on someone for hair is simply childish and those individuals aren't even worth a second thought.
