Sidestepping the "lynch mob"
hairstyle EVER? Do you remember it? Did it draw laughter/frowns? Did you cry?

My worst "hairstyle" was a substantial TWA back in '95. The fro was taller in the front, shorter in the back, and just a no-no at the time, though I didn't know any better. I didn't cry, but I sure as hell was

at the stylist for lying to me. The minute I stepped out the shop, I was hearing howls and laughter!

Oh, girl, that's too fuunee.. I do actually, but I'll have to scan it first...

I'm glad I can laugh now...

You have recovered nicely from that cut but you made that twa sound so funny that I wanted to see a pic. I have had many bad hair styles, actually to many to name. Most of them were in high school.

I'd have to say that the past 9 years my hair has done well, even relaxed.

I think I was about 16, and I decided to go to the local beauty school to get my hair done. I asked the girl for a roller set, and so she used some enormous rollers with a lot of mousse and setting lotion, and I sat under the dryer for a long time, and she took the rollers out and my hair was HUGE! Then she had the nerve to spray some spritz on it and use a diffuser hand dryer. I could not look at myself in the mirror...I looked like a fool, my hair was about 2 inches past my bra strap, but it was barely touching the nape of my neck. Of course her station was ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK of the salon, so I had to walk past everybody and they were just starin. I heard someone in the masses go "God Nikki what did you do to her?" Then my car was parked on a busy street downtown, and I had to walk like 2 blocks to get to it. I was soo paranoid on the way home, I wouldn't pull up next to anyone at lights, and I didn't dare glance over. So eventually I made it home and jumped in the shower to wash my hair, but not before my whole family had a good laugh. I did laugh about it though, she didn't charge me cuz she knew she had messed me up. Needless to say I have NEVER been back to let the students practice on me!

I have a funny story but it's about one of my girlfriends from college!! She had really long, beautiful hair but she never wore it down. She would wear it in this really ugly style, she would bend over and brush all the hair to the top of her head and make a bun that sat up right in the middle of her hairline (at the very front!!!) She also would load it up with grease... I mean, it just looked plain OILY!!

Well we all loved her and everyone wondered why she kept her hair in this style all the time but no one dared to say anything. WELL, one night we were all (about 8 of us) eating dinner in the dining hall and she made a comment about some girls' hair. Another girl, Trina, said "STACY!! I know YOU'RE not talking about somebody's hair with that BUN you got sitting up there on the top of your head!!!" OMG!!! We couldn't help it; everyone busted out laughing

; it was SOOO funny because everyone was thinking the same thing but no one but Trina had the nerve to actually say it!!!

This is kinda long... Ive been lurking here for a good while... My worst hairstyle was the fingerwaves i had to get around 2 years ago, when a relaxer went terribly wrong.
I was natural before, decided to get a relaxer. I had thick fuzzy natural hair that i dyed dark blonde that i loved, but i wanted something different. She left it on there for 10 minutes while she went off to the chinese food joint down the block!!

By the time she came back, my hair was like straw, but it still stuck in there, so she quickly put it in a wrap and let me go, saying i need to come back next week for some extra treatment (which of course cost extra money).
I took my hair out the next day, and handfuls was coming out, i was crying the whole day, then i went back there and they said there was nothing they could do but put some fingerwaves in it. I have a round face, and i hated the goopy cheap gel. I wore head wraps for 3 months because i hated it so much. And i kept getting into trouble at school because they dont allow head coverings, but i didnt care, i looked bad!

Well, one time, when I was a young girl, my mother made me an appt. with a stylist that she had been going to for a while. I was a press and curl girl back then. Well, the stylist always did a good job with my mom's hair, however, with mine, no! You know the style where they curl you all over, come your hair all back and then push it forward...ugghhh, yuck. I hated it.

It was so ugly and I just wanted to cry.

That was a first and last with that stylist.

oh.. my... I remember that unattractive boufont style. I never did like it! Sorry you had to wear it, even for a good minute. There's nothing like getting up out that chair with high hopes only to get disappointed looking in the mirror...
