What was the one product that turned your hair journey around?

JOICO Moisture Recovery!!!! That is my number one holy grail product. I've tried other products, but I always go back. I will never stray again. It's made transitioning so much easier. I am one year post and as soon as Joico touches my hair, my curls POP and combing is a breeze.

Since I can't pick just one product (between QB, HEHH, NTM, EVOO, and plain ol' water), I have to pick the one thing I believe has helped the most in my hair journey: transitioning. Since I started, my hair is happy, flourishing, and has all the thickness I lacked when relaxing.

Joico!!! I don't know what is in those products, but they've changed my life. I use KPak, Moisture Recovery, Silk Result, and Body Luxe interchangibly. I also stretch my relaxers 3-6 months.

Using protein products on a more regular rotation instead of relying on my hardcore protein every 6 weeks.

COCONUT OIL!! and henna....i love the way my hair just feels after I've henna (after I wash it out that is) :yep: and the coconut oil give me my sexy confidence because it keeps my hair shiny and healthy looking, I love it

Trader Joe Nourish Spa Conditioner. This is the one commercial product that i consistently use. Great for co-wash, add EVOO and avocado for a deep condish, daily mositurizer, set twists, etc.

Also, Hawiian Silky 14-1 has done wonders for my 2 DDs.

Washing my hair in sections from start to finish and deep conditioning with every wash (once/week) have made a WORLD of difference!

It was a combination of DCing twice a week with Nexxus Humectress, doing protein treatments with Nexxus Keraphix and Dudley's DRC 28. Those things and daily moisturizing with good moisturizers. My regimen's still basically the same.

For me it wasn't so much of a product but a practice.

Putting down the heat is what turned my hair around!

ORS creamy aloe shampoo!!! :love4:

I agree with these two things. Well I didn't put down the heat completely, but I only use heat when I go to the hairdresser to get my touch-up every 2-3 months. That is when she flat irons my hair. I try not to use heat anytime after that to flat iron my hair myself. My Sedu has been sitting there for awhile now. I can tell the difference in my hair.

I love the ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo. This makes my hair feel good. I didn't have a clarifying shampoo in my regimen before this, plus I know for sure that I have hard water at my house. I was using products with cones that left my hair stiff, so I used this to get them out. I think it does a great job.

the use of conditioner. before i ever found the hairboards, i thought the conditioner was optional. kinda like washing with soap, but not putting on lotion. :look:

CONDITIONER!!!! It's my staple, go-to product and helps with everything!

Honorable mention: ECO-STYLER GEL-- My transition went really smooth after I discovered this b/c it's what holds my edges down. My edges being tame and smooth was the biggest sticking point in my 1st failed transition. Once I found it, I was good! :)

This month I purchased a Sprite shower filter. I feel this is the best hair product I have ever purchased.

The reasons I feel this way are:

1. The water feels softer.

2. My shampoo lathers like crazy. And I only need one lather and rinse instead of 2. The shampoos seem to clean much better and I am saving on product usage.

3. Before when I did a combout I lost alot of my hair. Just combing my hair was a struggle. I thought I just had rough hair. All the products I tried did nothing. Now the comb glides thru my hair even without products during comb out.

All these years I thought it was a problem of my having product resistent
hair. It was not my hair..it was the water I was washing it in. Now my products work as I thought they should have, but never could. I am looking at my products in a whole new light.

A shower filter...who knew?

My personal blend "juice" (aloe vera, water, glycerin and castor oil). Dryness has always been my problem and now I have a go-to product that stomps it out ASAP lol.

Probably, HSR + deep conditioning. In the first 3 months of regularly DCing (a couple of times a week) with HSR mixed with oils or alone, my hair shot off. I've never had health, retention, and growth come so quickly.

Jheri Juice! Retention is a breeze now, I didn't realise just how much my hair needs moisture. First it was Wave Nouveau Finishing mist but I've discovered S Curl 360 Styling Afro Hair Softener and I'm not looking back.

LHCF in general.....otherwise too much to list, sorry know that's not the answer you were looking for...but moisture/protein balance has been my life line.

There is only one product that I have kept coming back to the minute I discovered it: CASTOR OIL! It has saved my hair multiple times! It's uses are so versatile and if I ever had to be stranded on a deserted island and could only bring one hair product with me it'd be castor oil

For me, more than one product, it was technique:

Low manipulation has probably helped more than anything. When I stopped combing/brushing my hair daily it really took off.

Next, would be seamless combs (for when I do comb) and protein/moisture balance.
