Well from reading another post, I have come to realize that my hair has all of a sudden did a 180 and who do I have to thank? LHCF:yep::yep: ALSO giving a shoutout to ADW425 who helped me much when I was in NEWBIE training. We come to this place to seek advice and its time to give ourself pats on the back for helping each other.

So what have you learned since JOINING LHCF (YOU can also give shoutout TOO!!!

What I learned since Joing LHCF:
Stay away from heat
Don't brush hair while wet
Try stretching at least one relaxer cycle
SEALING is your best friend
Moisturize Daily
Natural Products are good for the hair
You don't have to grease your scalp and your hair willl still grow
Vits do help with hair growth
WE ALL CAN GROW LONG HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since being here my hair is no longer DRY and that is a blessing for me.

I have learned that:

*my hair hates heat, especially flat-irons, but can tolerate a blow-dryer every now and then.

*my hair can grow afterall:yep:.

*I have to stay focussed on my goals and that other people can trip you up if you aren't careful, because others usually want to see all of your length, which requires a lot of heat, which for me will mean damage.

*con (green label) and s-curl are two of the best products ever made.

*my hair is beautiful.

I've learned many things , too much things .....
First my hair type . Importance of moisture .
How to take good care of my hair ...
Thank you LHCF .

Not to wash y hair with Shampoo all the time and to only use conditioner
Sealing
Moisturizing
Denman Brush
Make my own goodies in my spray bottle, Glycerin, Aloe Vera Juice,
Sabino Moisture Block
Not to be scissor happy escpecially since I want my hair to grow
Baggying
too much to name :yep:.

Less heat more moisture
stretch relaxer
bunning can be your best friend
oil is used as a sealant not a moisturizer
braidout, twistouts, flexirods, caurol rollers
homemade mixtures
curl activator can be your friend
3/4 wigs can be your friend
there are more but i can't remember them all

oh one more thing comb from the bottom up and texlax is my new best friend just not sure for how long it's getting harder and harder to style my hair

I have learned:

co-washing:grin:
DC more than once a month is actually very helpful:grin:
stretching is not really for me:wallbash:
about what oils are good for my hair and how to seal
learned about dominican products
the importance of a leave in condtioner
protein/moisture balance,
not to jump on every bandwaggon that appears:wallbash:
and K.I.S.S. (Regimen):lachen:

...that I really can grow my hair long! (I'm just starting out, cutting off the relaxer little by little...)

deep conditioning is the best thing i could ever do for my hair. now i find that deep conditioning on dry hair is what works best for me before shampooing.

washing every week is great for me

moisturizing with a butter and sealing with an oil is amazing

shescentit and hairveda are great.

co-washing
protective styles
protein/moisture balance
twist/ braid outs
acv rinse
clarifying
leaving neutralizing shampoo on for 5 minutes
sealing
oils dont moisturize
deep conditioning bi-weekly is the truth
no sulfate shampoos
mineral oil is the devil

I learned that I shouldn't upload a video of myself on Youtube, post it here for comments, cuz it'll end up a locked thread LOL

I have learnt to take care of my hair;
I now know which ingredients to avoid.
I have learnt that DC/CW help my hair to retain moisture.
That alcohol and mineral oils dry out my hairs natural oils.
Scalp massages increase the blood flow to my hairs follicles.
That silk scarves stop my hair from losing moisture.
Water is a good friend, internally or topically.
Natural oils are better for my hair.
Coconut oil is a godsend.
Ayurveda powders and oils are the way forward for my hair health and retaining length. Split ends can't be cured; the only cure is to cut them off.
I have learnt what split ends look like.
Its possible to grow my hair to any length providing I maintain my hairs health and practice good hair care.
Mayonnaise is a healthy balance for moisture and protein as well as a hair strengthener.
That Henna is a more natural and healthy way to colour my hair.

Thanks ladies for the knowledge and experience you have shared with your sistas.

What have I learned?
A lot!

And most importantly, that if I don't read the forum everyday, there will be 3297323782372372837283 posts that I will miss!:wallbash:

I'm a newbie and there is tons more for me to learn. I've only been visiting for about 2 weeks but here I go:

a regimen is essential
moisturize daily
protein treatments
stretching
co-washing
use oil as a sealant
roller setting
the less direct heat the better
washing more than once a week is actually okay
I can air dry my hair and not look crazy

I believe that I can get my hair healthy and long...I can't wait!

THAT IT TAKE TIME FOR YOUR HAIR TO GROW NOT A OVER NIGHT THING:wallbash: i had to work real HARD and not give up.glad i did:yep::yep::yep::yep: thanks LHCF:yep::yep:

sleep on a satin pillow and cheap stuff is GREAT!
plus, i was like an alcoholic - no one could have told me that there was a life outside of applying heat to my hair.
now, i cannot remember the last time i blowdried or flat-ironed.

I've learned

* all about henna & indigo and how to use them successfully
* all about moisturizing and sealing the hair for daily maintenance
* of Ovation products - this line has been a godsend to my thin and fine tresses.
* how to enhance the appearance of my hair using certain "good for the hair" products that even my hairstylist didn't know about!
* that I can wet my hair (whether with plain water or with conditoner) everyday if I want to even though I am relaxed.
* that there are sooooo many great products out there
* that there are a lot of ladies with hair like mine
* that there are so many beautiful heads of hair, natural, relaxed, straight, kinky, coily, curly, short and long
* ponytail holders are the devil
* that I can't live without Magic Grip Hair Pins!
