I can't wear my hair like that. It mats and tangles entirely too much when it's not manipulated.

Chunky twists is still something tho. She's talking, walking out without abandon or doing ANYthing to your hair.![]()
sometimes the society percieves it negatively cos its truly lookss a hot mess... not cos of race, gender, nationality etc
Girl, I think you are having a day![]()
I've done it. Washed and just tied up in a puff and left to air dry. No product, no manipulation.
Eta I see fotki doesn't allow not linking anymore??
I didn't wear it like this very long. Was paranoid about knotting with NO moisture.
The fact that you pulled your hair back into a puff could be viewed as manipulation by some though.
I don't even do this in private or even briefly. I KNOW I don't like to work hard and letting my hair do its thang at ANY time is asking for work coz it'd take forever to detangle (if I am trying not to lose hair from breakage) or I'd end up cutting it off coz I have a low tolerance for frustration.
no manter26, just your natural hair without washing it/putting product into it/flat ironing it/twist outs/etc
Never seen it, I know why. But I just wish I could, without getting stares from everyone and everybody
Um no..
I would look like this

not saying its ugly, but not my cup of tea![]()
This hair has been manipulated. I don't think hair just stands up like that.
My hair would get too dry. I had a hateful asian ex-friend who tried to make me feel bad because I wear my natural hair in braid/twists/braid outs/twist outs. She was like, when you are going to wear your hair out.
But I can't wear my hair unmanipulated but she wanted to feel superior because she can.
However I have a natural waist and she doesn't so she likes to wear belts to accentuate her non-waist. However I'm not hateful enough to say, when you are going to wear your waist out.
Sorry for going off-topic. I've been upset about this for awhile.
My last post then I'll leave you alone...Wear your hair how you like.
You don't have to style it a certain way to please anyone. How can an afro offend anyone? I think your perception is a little skewed. I think you may find that a fro can get a lot of attention and lots of positive attention. Just wear it proudly and don't think to much about what other people are thinking.
SN: every time I see the Madagascar commercial with the afro circus, I want to take out all these braids and wear my fro.da da dadada da dada AFRO!
ETA: I just read your other post. I'll PM you.
