I bought the Alterna White Truffle shampoo and conditioner for $110. They were nice but my Nexxus is a better deal for the money.

does anyone know of an alternative for the Rene Furterer Karite Nourishing Conditioning Cream Ingredients:
Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Quince Seed, Propylene Glycol Myristate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Fragrance, Carotene, Orange Oil, Shea Butter, Methylparaben, Ethoxydiglycol, Salicylic Acid, Castor Oil, Sulfur.

ya'll are feeding my pjism i also need an alt for the dudley's dcr-28 i guess it might be worth it since you are supposed to dilute it 1:6 parts water

--my most expensive staple is the aphogee treatment $15 but i usually get the pack w/ oilsheen and moisturizer so it seems like it is worth it

i might go broke trying to buy neosporinAF if i can find some
Let it be known if i found something that promised and delivered the inch a month i am chasing i would pay upwards of $600 for a years worth

I knew I couldn't have been the only one! LOL!

How do you get these goodies for half-price?! :D
A beautician get salon products half price at those speciality beauty stores that only sells products to beauticians ONLY,even relaxers.

I guess it depends on price compared to size. I don't think $40 is bad for a tub of conditioner in comparison with $20 for a small size. I voted $19-26 for my Kenra Polishing Gloss. Other than that, I'm pretty moderate. I buy cheaper products, but then I'll buy more, so I guess it's the same either way.

I think the most expensive product i bought for my hair was the big bottle of nexxus emergencee for $46 ! Hi " lydc" I was looking at the ojon treatment a few mins ago considering if i should break my pockets some more to buy this. I saw this in a past issue of essence one of the style editiors raved about it ! I'm glad you told me.

I get the phyto relaxer which is WAY more expensive than I would normally want to spend. But I do see fantastic results so its money well spent.

The way y'all are talking about the Aveda stuff makes me want to give it a shot. I may very well once I run out of a few things.

$12 was the most I spent...

I bought Salerm21 back when I was relaxed (around $12)... my hair did not like it so I sold it to someone.

Near the end of last year, I bought 100% pure unrefined shea butter from Nasabb for $12. I used it on my face and hair. Now I use it on my elbows and knees.

Aphogree is a good replacement for Dudley's. In regards to the Rene Furterer, you can use the Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise and mix it up with some Carol's Daughter Khoret Amen Hair Oil for extra umph or use it alone.

I spent $30 on some little tube of Phyto hair creme mayonannise stuff. It didn't do jack crap
I spent $25 on a small tube of that TERAX conditoner, it didn't do JACK.
I spent $35 on that Kerastase conditioner which works the same as NTM.

The Curly Pudding was my most expensive purchase and it was not worth it. BUT I think it cured me of any trace of PJism, cuz I haven't bought anything over $16 since then.

LOL! :lachen: It cured me too.

I bought nexxus humectress, therapee, and keraphix from a salon about 3 years ago and was extremely unimpressed. They are the most expensive things that I have bought to date.

I spent *€22 for a Frédéric Fekkai hairspray with avocado oil and other natural moisturizers. It left my hair dry and full of residue - what a colossal waste of money.

Other than that, my biggest expense is the 2lb tub of ORS Hair Mayonnaise that I get for about €17. It lasts 2-3 months, so it doesn't feel like a lot of money. Oh, almost forgot, trips to the salon cost me about €80 which is why I am trying to cut down to once a year.

*€1.00 = US$1.15 (or thereabouts)

I really don't think I've spent over $15 for one product, and that would be about the highest I would go. I used to buy Aveda products, but still never spent more than that. I used the Elixir and a couple of other products. They were definitely worth it.

I orginally voted 12-18 for a single product however, I do remember buying Ojon Restorative Treatment which was about :dollar:50 . It was not worth it.

I spent $50 on DRC 28. Like others have said, it's so worth it, because it lasts for so long. I've had my bottle a year now and even shared a litte with a friend. I love both DRC and Aphogee so I alternate between the two and that helps to stretch it out further.

The most I spent was 52 bucks on a shea butter conditioner by J.F.Lazartigue. It was really nice stuff and definitely helped my hair but not enough of a "miracle product" to warrant the 50+ bucks!

However, if I was making alot of money I would probably buy it again.

I use Kerastase products. I order them from a website and when you factor in S&H each product is over $30. Do I think it's worth it? HELL YES!!!!!!

You could not PAY ME to go back to cheap dime store products.

I have been wanting to try this line. Which products do you use?

I've definitely spent over $30 for a hair product. I've tried the Renee Furterer and the Ojon Hair Restorative Treatment (cost is $55 but I had a gift card to Sephora so it cost me less). Ojon was totally not worth it at all and I would have been highly pissed if I had purchased it for full price; the RF is good not great. I've also used the Miss Jessie products before they went up in the price which I loved but have found cheaper replacements for both. At this point my goal is not to spend over $25 for a product unless I'm buying in bulk.

I have to update what I wrote, Renee Furterer is soooo worth it. It is a great detangler, great deep conditioner, just great period, well worth the price.

Nikki, I use the Bain Satin 3 shampoo for thick and dry hair and the Masquintense conditioner for thick and dry hair. I LOVE these products so much!! Been using them for 2 years and I can't imagine changing.:)

I have to say my tub of Humecto. I've used to whole tub and will happily purchase a new. WHY....because i'm worth it.lol:)

The most I paid was $21 for some Humectress when it was just coming out of the salon, but not quite at Wal-Mart yet. It's a supper big bottle and I love it, so it was definitely worth it.

oohh crap i voted for the wrong option. i voted $20 i was thinking of my Nexxus conditioners. actually the most expensive hair product i bought cost me $60+. it's for the Dudley's DCR reconstructor. it's the strongest protein out there. Totally worth it! once i run out i don't think i'm gonna buy a new one though. sistah's on a tight budget now.
