Super Healthy Ends Challenge 2010!

Just wanted to add a pic of my horrible ends. geez. what to do, what to do?

Hi Nola...you have lovely hair...if you wear your hair your hair "out" I would recommend a trim but if you are wearing your hair "up" or in a bun..you might want to keep it as is until you have reached your desired goal.

If it was me...I would trim...

I've spent the past 3 days (took some time off after Christmas) doing search and destroys in my hair. It has been well worth it. Time consuming, yes, but in the end it will allow me to reach my goal of APL by June.

I get weird split ends - they are rarely at the end, but always in the middle.

I took a strand that had come out all by its own, and ran my fingernails down the length of it a few times. SURPRISE! That's how the weird splits occurred. I'm really starting to think low-manipulation is key here. The friction from combing and running detangling tools through my hair is probably what causes the weak spots in my hair to get holes in it :look:

Count me in for the first session, then I'll see about the second. I haven't given my ends the attention they deserve I don't think.

Can I still join this challenge eventhough I won't be seeing my ends that much since I'm also in the Braids 2010 challenge?

Tonight I used Silk Elements Silken Child Moisturizing Crème mixed with HS 14 in 1 and sealed with Castro and EVOO.

Count me in pls for both sessions :) I will hopefully post pictures after I get my hair flat ironed and a freshly trimmed on 01/02/2010.

Tonight I used my little concoction of cantu shea butter leave in, mixed with coconut oil and water in a spray bottle. I detangled with my fingers, and sectioned my hair into four plaits. Then I tied it up with my beloved moisture scarf...I can't live without it!

Using the same products and braiding it in 4 plaits, will wear a braidout bun tonight.
Minus the HS 14 in 1.

My ends felt a little dry this evening, I have just attempted my first baggy. I put my hair in a ponytail, flipped it back and tied the band again, leaving out the ends, I then appied a generous amount of Quemet burdock root butter cream and sealed with my A365 hair smoothie: babassu oil, shea butter, monoi de tahiti, bay, ylang ylang, rosemary, cederwood, sweet almond and coconut oils). I wrapped my ends and the tied up hair with cling film and tied my silk scarf over my head. I'm hoping for some good results come tomorrow

My daily reggie for this challenge:

Morning- spray with water, seal with JBCO, bun
Evening- moisturize with cond.+water, Hairveda Whipped Cream+JBCO on ends, baggy, cover with scarf

poranges, i want in the first session.
i'll wait until june to decide whether or not i'll rejoin.
i'm using heat (i guess my own challenge) b/c no heat didn't work for me but i'm limiting my heat to once a week. i may need to bump to 2x's week b/c my scalp has certain areas that itch alot and needs poo'n.

Is it too late for me to join in? I'm new here but fighting a losing battle with my ends. They need all the help they can get!
