2) I don't have a ruler and I don't know how to measure my hair but my longest hair is my last layer since I got my ends clipped in March.

3) Well for the last 3 weeks I have been wearing my hair down/pressed. But next week I will be getting a weave for about a month or two & probably some braids.

4) I haven't relaxed my hair in almost 4 years.

5) If I find anything useful I will tell.

*UPDATE* Starting pics finally attached. C'mon summer growth!!

Reggie:
1. CW with Aussie Moist Mondays/Wednesdays after workout
2. Shampoo on Saturdays with AO GBP if protein week or Kenra Moisturizing Shampoo if moisture week
3. Use ApHogee 2 min Reconstructor after every wash and then DC with heat using Kenra MC
4. Use with Roux PC before final rinse and apply leave ins: Rusk Sensories or GVP The Conditioner and seal with WGO

I am Relaxed and I Will:
-Keep hair off shoulders and in protective styles
-Air dry my hair unless I rollerset it

Add me, add me!! I just bc'd so I'm all over taking advantage of summer growth spurts. My starting pic is in my avi, but here are some more.

Time Frame
June 1, 2010 -- September 1, 2010
(yes, I know summer isn't technically over 'til late September but the weather gets cooler before then).

Rules
1. Post a starting picture by the last week of May. If you're getting a sew in or braids please post a pic before then. Check!

2. State number of inches and body measurement mark of your longest layer of hair. So if the hair along your nape is 10" and reaches APL state so.
This one is easy, the back of my hair is 2 inches and the top is just about 3 inches.

3. Mention your Regimen. This includes wash routines, staple products, vitamins and how you plan to wear your hair during the summer. I'm not placing restrictions. If you want to flat iron your hair everyday and change the color every week that's on you. However, don't feel bad if others are two inches longer and you're two inches shorter.

I co-wash about 3 times per week and my conditioners vary between AO White Camellia, Herbal Essences Hello Hydration, Silk Elements Olive Oil Conditioner, and AO Honeysuckle Rose. I have at least one or two more, but cannot recall the names right now. The one for sure staple I have is KCCC and Knot Today leave in conditioner!! I have also been prepooing with Suave Aloe & Cucumber and sealing with Vatika oil. I have recently added the habit of overnight baggying to combat the dryness of my TWA. I use S-curl, Amla heavy cream and seal with olive oil. I will be adding Mega tek to my overnight baggies as well.

4. Also, mention if you're relaxed or natural. I don't think hair type is important but you can mention it if you want to. Newly Natural! ;)

5. Lastly, if you come to any hair epiphanies over the summer, please do share.

Ladies-does anyone here have any suggestions in terms protective style here.[outside of braids/weaves]? I am so frustrated with my hair so I don't want to do anything that will prevent me from fully benefiting and retaining my summer growth.

Pictures will be posted this afternooon

Can i Join????? I just chopped some of my hair off so im hoping to grow another 2 inches before september. Hopefully.

I just self texlaxed today with Soft and Beautiful Botanicals and it was the first time doing it on my own. My hair feels a lot better now. Being 11 months post was really affecting my hair. I have one small section that is straighter than the others, but overall it still looks pretty good. I went ahead and flat ironed it and am planning to do a slight trim tonight (I'm getting sick of my layers). My next wash I will do a braidout and will once again experiment with using less heat. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Looking forward to taking advantage of the summer growth spurt. Let's get growing, ladies!

Here's my beginning picture taken May 7, 2010 after a really good trim :yep:

050712-vi.jpg

My hair is about this length. However, I have not taken a picture. As we speak I am installing a sew in and I came across this thread. I would like to participate. For the summer, I just intend on staying in a sew in and doing general maintenance which for me is washing with usually V05 Moisture Milk Conditioner, spraying Infusium 23 Leave In, and when taking down my hair which is usually every 6-8 weeks I like to wash with a sulfate free shampoo or baking soda mix. That is it. My goal for this year is to get to where your shirt shows either 6 or 7.

I like to back track a bit. The line where 5 is on your shirt would be fine with me as well. That is more realistic. If I get more that is fine. My hair sometimes get these unusual growth spurts.

I want in. My siggy pic was taken this month of May.

Regimen: Wash 1x week at Hair One Shampoo-
Deep condition with Revlon Creme of Nature
Airdry in braidout or bun
Conditioner wash 1x week with VO5 strawberry conditioner
Airdry in braidout or bun.
Clarify 1x month with Avlon Clarifying shampoo
Prepoo 1x with Suave Coconut Conditioner

OK count me in:

1. Starting Pic is below
2. Never measured my inches. Ill be back to post that

3. Mention your Regimen: I wear wigs 24/7 with cornrows underneath. Every two weeks I DC on Dry hair with either Alter ego Garlic/AO HoneySuckle/Kera Care Humecto, wash out then aphogee 2or MT for 2 min. Wash out with Alter ego Nourishing Medium Conditioner. I baggy Nightly with S Curl and seal ends with JBCO. Occasionally I used Kera care Hydrating Detangling Shampoo. I clarify (Nexxus Aloe Rid) follwed by a a protein treatment with Emerigencia every 6 weeks when i dust. I mix lavender and rosemary in my DC when i prepoo. I use Giovani Direct as a leave in and air dry before cornrowing.
4. I am relaxed. I stretch for 6 months.

I am hoping for APL by Dec.
