I don't see how yall are washing your hair in the shower. I'm surprised that more people arent washing in the sink. I refuse to wash, and get BACK in the shower 8 more times for all the conditioning and pre-poos and etc.

I don't want all those chemicals and what nots sliding down my skin and i dont want to find shed hair in the crack of my a$$ everytime i get out. I hate having to wash shampoo and conditioner off the shower walls and curtain. Plus i'm wasting more water and my skin is getting wrinkled.

With the sink, i can do as many wash-outs as i want and not have to change clothes, get naked, re-wash, etc. Even when my hair was shoulder-lenghthed, i didn't have any issues with detangling.

Either way, sink or shower, it still needs to be combed and detangled to me.

ugh. I wash in the shower and I have since I was a teenager and I have NEVER had experiences like that. If you have ordeals like that I see why washing in the shower is not attractive.

But, for me it is a simple step that I include with my shower anyway. Also I never do 8 rinses. I think you may be exaggerating there, but I shampoo & rinse/get out of the shower/apply my deep conditioner/workout while I condition/get back in /shower and rinse my hair a 2nd time. I don't get shampoo and conditioner all over the shower, either - no more than my soap and shower gels anyway.

And if I do rinse in the sink, I do have to manipulate my hair more than when I wash it with my head back so the water can help detangle it. I know I am not alone with that one. Detangling under water in the shower was one of the best tips I learned here.

I wash in the shower and then I do a deep conditioner and I wash it out in the sink so I don't have to go back in the shower and it is quick and easy for me.

Started out in the sink but now I do it in the shower. It's just so much easier in the shower, besides, my hair now can go down the drain and who knows WHAT is down there!:nono:

Almost always in the sink. I have the hypersensitive skin & products that run down my body cause me to break out and itch. I really wish I could do my hair in the shower.

Shower always. I never tried washing my own hair in the sink... maybe I'll try. Nah I don't like having half my hair falling in the drain. The shower also detangles better.

I wash in the shower and in the kitchen sink with an attachement. Depends on if I feel like jumping back in the shower or not.

I used to wash my hair in the sink months ago, but I went back to old ways of washing in the shower. It's just easier. And it feels good to have an extra shower or two.

Well geeeezze I feel like a cave woman now !:lachen:
I still wash my hair in the sink, I don't know why really, I guess all those years of watching the women in my family wash their hair in the sink just kind of rubbed off on me. I tried washing my hair in the shower before and it was okay I just felt like I was going to drown with all of that water rushing towards my face. But now that my hair is getting longer I do think that washing it in the shower would be better so that my ends aren't being swished around in dirty water. :yep:

I aint even going to lie, I wash mainly in the sink. My hair process takes too long and I aint the one to jump in and out the shower 3 times. I poo using a noozle like I am oiling my scalp, then I DC for 30 mins, wash out sometimes before the DC I do my 2 mins. Thats just too much for me. I would wash my hair in the shower once my hair gets longer.

DITTO!!!!!

this is funny because I was going to post this same poll. I wash mainly in the kitchen sink but sometimes in the shower, my hair really sheds no more than if i wash in the shower than if i wash in the kitchen sink.My hair is just as clean I clean my sink before and after I wash, I don't see any difference and my sink is really deep anyway. and they sell the sink attachment where you can wash your hair with the spray attachment at the salons.

I wash in the shower. It's too long to wash in the sink. When your hair is so long that it will actually be hanging in the drain hole, the shower is a mighty attractive option.

Of course there are more steps involved with the getting in and out but there are more steps involved with long hair anyway so you just accept it.

I dont wash my hair as often, so its kind of an event yet. My hair is always in protective styles. However, when my hair is in braidss, i wash that in the sink. Also, theres always so many components to washing my hair (shampoo, detangle, condition, detangle, etc.) that i just use the sink, because, of course im not going to keep getting in and out the shower. I dunno....

this may be a simple question, but how do you detangle in the shower, what is the technique??

It depends on how I feel. If I've already washed my body then I do the sink. If I need to do both, I do the shower.

I wash in the shower. Besides the water distribution issues, it just makes more sense to me to wash my hair while I'm washing the rest of my body.

I must say that sometimes I wash out my DC in the sink if it's cold and I don't want to jump back in the shower. That's not the norm though.

I wash in the shower depending on what I am doing. If I am rinsing out deep conditioner or something that requires me to rinse several times I will lean over the tub with our long shower hose. Sometimes I hate getting wet over and over again just to wash and dc my hair especially when it is cold.

I usually wash in the shower, unless I used henna or a rinse. When I use either of those its off to the stainless steel kitchen sink! I am in an apartment and cannot stain up the counters and bathtub or tiles!

i'd NEVER wash a relaxer out in the shower....the thought of all those chemicals on my skin makes me shudder.

i will however wash out shampoos and conditioner. it stills sounds a bit yuck getting chemicals on my skin.

the shower is best for really rinsing out the hair

I usually lean over the tub and rinse the shampoo n conditioner out. Once in awhile I'll shampoo in the shower and just rinse out the conditioner by leaning over the tub too. I've been doing this since childhood and it works best for me.

The only way my hair is getting washed in A sink is if I'm at the hairdressers sitting comfortably in the chair whilst SOMEONE ELSE washes my hair (after my relaxer).

At home, I cannot use the sink. If I do, I can't detangle properly, my floor would be soaking wet, stuff would be getting all up in my eyes, my back would eventually give way and its just too awkward to get my head at an angle where I can wash all parts of my hair effectively.
My big head can't even fit in my sink comfortably anyway... :lachen:. Gotta be the shower for me :yep: .

I wash my hair in the shower....if I rinsing out a relaxer I will do it in the tub.... I have a detachable showerhead and rhe water pressure is strong so I lean over the tub.

I just can't get into washing my hair in the kitchen sink.... that's where I clean my dishes and food only.... but then again I may be wierd cause I won't drink water that comes from the faucet in the bathroom and my bathroom is very clean.
