My boyfriend (I think he's "the one") is white. My ex-husband is, and most of the other men I have dated have been, as well.

Well, I think we've established that half the board is NOT married to white men. (just as I thought.)
Carry on, carry on. :D

My husband is Asian-Latino with West Indian upbringing. His mother is a Puerto Rican and his father is Chinese from Trinidad. And the family was raised in St. Croix, VI.

I'm an equal opportunity dater. I've dated white, black, and island men (black and hispanic). Currently my boyfriend is black, but his last name is Douse, which sounds Jamaican to me.

I've never heard of a Jamaican last name. That's as odd as an American last name.
Unless of course one meant Native American.

No--a lot of times (not ALL the time) you can tell what someone is by a last name--there are Jewish last names, Russian last names, Hispanic last names . . . so, that's what I meant. A lot of my friends who are from the islands have last names that stand out to me.

After hearing so often that "half of the board is married to white men" I'm curious to see the actual breakdown. It does seem to be a significant number but I don't think it's a huge percentage of our membership.
Curious to know how many are dating interculturally as well (for example, someone from Africa)
My husband is white.;)

Mine is puerto rican but I am about to dump him because I like someone else.

aww he's gonna be so sad cause ur hair is so pretty!

Anyway, me and my SO both have parents from West Africa ( my parents are Ghanaian and he is 1/2 Nigerian and 1/2 Cameroonian) but we were born and raised here albeit in pretty traditional households. So, we're African and American but not really African-American when used to describe Black Americans. Hope that makes sense.
