I vote, don't text or call. I don't even consider text messaging real communication. He didn't ask you a question so there was no response needed for his goodnight. If he wants to get in touch he will call. I agree with the poster who said you aren't interested, just curious as to why a man you weren't really into didn't show further interest. But you did come to like him so I say let him chase you.

Try not to think about him, when he comes on your mind immediately think of something else.
